First week schedule for Big Brother 2025 + week 2

Big Brother Australia is back! The 2025 live reboot arrives on TV with a 90 minute launch show at 7pm on 9 November. As has happened with most of 10's earlier Big Brother seasons, this launch will be recorded in front of an audience the day prior. Although tickets are free, there will be no seating and the location is outside. As for the broadcast schedule in week 1, this is what we know so far:

Sunday, 9 November​

Launch: 7:00 - 8:30 pm (90 minutes), PG.
Big Brother is back at Dreamworld! A new cast of Aussies faces twists, tasks, and live evictions. It's the return of the social experiment that changed reality TV forever. Ticketed show with audience.​

Monday, 10 November​

Live Special: 7:30 - 8:45 pm (75 minutes), Rating M. Speculation only: Australia may be given the chance to vote in the last housemates with the result revealed during this live special.
Description TBA. Ticketed show with audience.​

Tuesday to Friday​

For the rest of the week, the shows continue to be slotted in at 7:30 pm to 8:40-8:45 pm (70-75 minutes). Unfortunately, advanced guides provide little clues as to what is planned in each of these shows.

Tuesday, 11 November​

Expected to be a daily show running for 70 minutes with an M rating.

Wednesday, 12 November​

Based on Dreamworld ticketing a Nominations show with audience is expected for 12 November. Run time most likely 75 minutes with an M rating.

Thursday, 13 November​

Expected to be a daily show running for 70 minutes with an M rating.

Next Week​

Sunday, 16 November​

Big Brother's first Eviction show, live from Dreamworld. Ticketed show with audience. Expected runtime 90 minutes from 7:00 pm.

Monday, 17 November​

Round 2 of Nominations. Ticketed show with audience. Expected runtime 70 minutes from 7:30 pm.

Big Brother confirmed for 7:30-8:40 Monday-Friday and I would guess Sunday's will continue at 7-8:30 for live eviction shows. And as expected the Live special on Monday and Wednesday's nominations are combined with the daily show. Not mad about that tbh, I just hope the nominations are quick and snappy.

I’m in two minds about this. It’s true, hardly no major programme / reality show in Australia runs any less these days. But I also appreciate how well Ten were able to execute the half-hour Daily Shows back in the day. Although I know that’s just unheard of by today’s standards.

I can get on-board as long as they edit better than they did on Nine (and obviously Seven). One of the biggest complaints through those years was that we were getting much longer episodes but very little or no natural day-to-day interactions. Nine had supersized episodes but we were seeing and learning less about the HMs in 90 minutes than we did in 20 minutes in the OG era. So as long as they get that balance right then I’m sure it’ll be great.

Plus, it’s no different to current BBUK and BBUS episodes.
 
10's advanced guides are rather lacking for information beyond start time and show duration 😅. Even the over the air guide that has just picked up the Launch episode doesn't have any description at this stage.
 
This is purely speculation on my part, but I noticed in the advanced guides that the usual Reality show encore 10:30am time slot is scheduled with Jamie Oliver repeats instead of Big Brother. Maybe that is a sign that the weeknight episodes of Big Brother could be classified M if permitted, unless Jamie Oliver is a placeholder. For those not in the know, M-rated programs can only be screened from 12.00pm - 3.00pm (not including school holidays) on commercial FTA channels in the daytime.

I remember seeing something about 7’s final season also being rated M and I’m curious outside of the obvious was there a noticeable difference in the episodes from the previous series? I didn’t watch much if anything from that series so I’m a bit curious whether the M rating actually meant something or whether it was more of a technicality.

I’m also going to assume the M rating means they could incorporate more content that would have previously either not been aired at all or reserved for Uncut. Nudity aside.
 
The only nudity I can remember from the 7 series was when Matt got the spray tan task done to him in the first season and we got a few ass shots. Other than that, I guess we got some sex stories especially in the last series that would have been too racy for a PG rating potentially. But nothing much compared with the Ten series.

On the 10 app and website it says the show will be rated M

At the moment this same write up applies to all the episodes across the first week, but hopefully as we get closer this'll change to indicate what's happening with the live special, etc.
 
Last time I was at a live show was 2006. There were maybe 500 people, a large stage, seating at the front & a hill at the back where families had picnics, Mike Goldman chatting during commercials. You could see all the broadcast equipment and flashing lights.

But these live shows look much smaller, maybe 100? Seems a way smaller production.
 
Nominations three days in?!

Well, I suppose we did have a version with an eviction every episode, but still, I thought we'd at least get a couple of weeks to get to know the housemates first 🤷

CBS recently beefed up Wednesday night reality shows to 90 minutes an episode (with ads). That extended to Big Brother US, which meant a lot of padding. Since Ten and CBS are owned by the same people (Paramount Skydance), I'm not surprised.

The two are not related even if they share ownership. Also we're talking about BBAU not BBUS.
