Every aussie big brother ep is currently being released in remastered HD!!

Hah, I remembered it being handled quite sensitively on BBUK, but I adored BB5 and Nadia, so I'm probably looking at it through rose-coloured glasses. 😄

My memory is that Davina addressed it on launch night (but it wasn't made part of Nadia's "backstory" or intro VT), and then it was more or less left alone. I certainly don't think there was pressure on her to reveal it to the other Housemates – although I do remember Davina revealing it in the eviction interviews every week, which is pretty tacky looking back on it.

I doubt the press or "Dave down the pub" handled it nearly as well, but I don't remember any of that, I was just glued to the show. 😂

I guess it says... something that she came back for Ultimate BB, too.
BBUK5 was fantastic television and Nadia was the best winner. It'll never happen, but another season like that would draw insane ratings - and insane criticism at the same time.

I remember members of the public standing on the public footpath behind the house and fence to Elstree Studios yelling "Nadia's a man!" into the garden and housemates hearing it. Jason and Victor were regularly commenting on Nadia being a man. The press had a field day with her story. I remember people saying "they've put a transsexual in the house" - for the time, the producers knew what they were doing.

Honestly, I'm disappointed at the idea of censoring previously aired material. Uncut I can totally understand due to its sometimes sexually graphic nature. Censoring old daily show episodes purely to satisfy the snowflakes out there is just diabolical for a show like BB. Like taking the flavour out or cooking unseasoned chicken. That was what made the show so addicting - watching these people interact in a raw way.

Tbh, I don't remember the turkey slap incident even making it to air outside of the live feed. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes - never a fan of censoring archive shows unless they're incredibly offensive in which case they probably shouldn't be re-released anyway. A guidance warning for "attitudes of the time" is usually sufficient.

I think we're in an era now and have been for a long time where anything filmed or photographed is expected to be around for life. You can be sure the original HM contracts had them sign away the rights to 10/Endemol/Southern Star for life.

Just wondering if you're sure that was definitely the wording on the Sky show... I've seen the BBAU clips enough times that I remember her Big Brother reveal was, "I wasn't born as a woman. I was born as a man."

Yes, I quoted that part from the documentary. They show the scene in part 2.

She starts with saying that she's not been honest with them, confirms all the things she is (her age, being from Mexico, etc.).. and then "I love men, and I love being a woman. But I am not a woman. I was born as a man." And after saying she's not a woman, you hear one of the guys saying "I knew it". And after saying "I was born as a man", all the men that were not chosen start to laugh loudly.

The doc then cuts to the show's psychologist in the present-day, saying that when he heard the guys laughing, he thought "Oh shit". And says that it wasn't her own words and that he overheard production talking about how they want to text the reveal.

Just because the original contracts say something doesn’t necessarily mean they’re actually locked in for life. It’s up to the courts to decide whether they can be challenged or not. Given that Australia views reality TV contestants as employees I tend to believe any such clauses could be open to challenge.!

For the season 3 youtube upload. they did cut the stream into 2 parts and the 2nd half is this weekend. So I was thinking they would just upload them during next week. It would be silly to start this big ressurection of the classics and not continue through to at least all of the chanel 10 ones.

I was hoping they would go all the way through though. But maybe Kevin will upload the rest at some stage. So not the end of the world if Youtube don't but would be nice if they did have them all up for the public to access them whenever they like.

And yes censoring them for todays snowflakes is ridiculous. just put a warning on them and they can miss out if they dont like it. Why ruin it for eveyone else?

Kevin's Archive is going to come in handy, as most of the original 2002 tapes are damaged.
Omg S2 Youtube version is tragic. I was using youtube rips as my main as they are slightly higher quality. but if all the seasons are gonna be like that then they may aswell just upload Kevin's ones.

They should upload them already (Kevin's one preferably with the amazing HQ content).

I was watching season 5 on Daily Motion (got to day 15) and they were all removed. It's tragic, really.🤦‍♂️
