Estelle's "hard life"

I doubt that very much, I am sure the channel 9 legal team would be scrutinizing what goes to air to ensure it does not breach the Television Industry Code of Practise which has a big section on individuals right to privacy.

Yeah, they can't ride roughshod over the privacy of people who haven't consented to be on the show. Just what they aired the other night about her parents not being able to provide for the family crossed the line imo.

And just because her parents choose not to take action, doesn't mean it's not in breach either.

These bloody people think they have had a hard life...Give us all a break....

Here is some of the hard life stories I can imagine...

1 I was held up flying to Bali (anywhere) for 2 hours last holidays
2 They didn't have my false eyelash size in United Emirates....Amber alert
3 I had to get a part time job during Xmas holidays in year 11, cause my parents were away!
4 I had to buy a tab of X from some feral dude cause my brother had to play footy that day
5 I had no product for my hair ( Eyebrows) for 3 days...Ready to die I was.
6 MY Dad/Mum/ Step parent even made me pay my own rego!!! on the car the bought me!
7 While my family was in Europe on holidays, I had nobody to take me for a tan...How am I supposed to go bikini shopping?
8 I had no popper or equivalent drink in my lunch box in grade 2 3rd day into term 3 in 1987
9 MY family trust cut me out after seeing me for the real me on Big Brother 2012!
(Only one statement is 100% true, the rest are generic truths applied to most house-mates)

Whatever Michael says about Estelle is agreed to by the other HMs. None of them like her. There is a reason for that, and its not that 16 ppl who have lived with her 24/7 are all wrong.

That's a bit much. Ava and Ryan for starters sure do like her. Bradley does too, as does Ray and Sam. Layla and Zoe are good with her. Josh was alright with her at times ( though she was a bit much for him on occassion) but he liked her again before he left.

The others can't really say. Guess it depends on how they're feeling at the time ( Ben wanting to protect her, and then who knows what the next day, etc).

How is having a heroin addict for a brother make your life a 'hard life'? I have one too and it's only made me stronger. I have worked hard for my money and would never use my brother as a sympathy vote or consider my life hard. Yep it's not pretty but he made the choice to go down that path. You learn quickly not to enable them, still love them but to look after yourself and make sure you don't play victim as they do.

Yes, you've made a fair point. But we are talking about the law, not "your opinion", if you know what I mean. Ive often wondered how they would manage things like that. Ive never seen or heard anything about the privacy of others in regards to comments made by the HMs. Would be very interesting to find out.

Dude, have you not heard of defamation? It is illegal...look it up. And you assume a lot in your posts and claim it as fact. I can't be fecked pointing it all out.

Its not defamation of character, or liable, if its true. Look it up

If a HM is stupid enough to lie about something like that, then they deserve to get sued. I doubt that even Estelle would be stupid enough to tell the house her brother/mother/father whatever is a drug addict if they aren't.

The fact that 9 aired the footage, albeit with the relation beeped out goes to show that they will air whatever they like.

The HM wouldn't be the only one to get sued...

"If you print or broadcast something defamatory, you could be taken to court, along with your producer, your editor or station manager and the person who said the words in the first place."

BB has to err on the side of caution

What a shame that such a long and thought out post is lacking in so many areas "sigh". Michael and Brad arent/werent the only two HMs discussing her so called "hard life". Ive seen most of the HMs talking about it at one point or another. Also, what does Michael and Brads upbringing have to do with Estelle's life? Your post is chock a block full of assumptions, and we all know what happens when we make assumptions, dont we!

Estelle came into the house and thought that acting all cute and quirky would attract attention, and the HMs would think she is soo funny. The fact of the matter though is that they all could not stand the way she acted and carried on. This is why she has been nominated so often and by so many different HMs! She is basically an attention seeking, bullshit speaking pain in the arse. Unlike your post, that last sentence is not an assumption!

Whatever Michael says about Estelle is agreed to by the other HMs. None of them like her. There is a reason for that, and its not that 16 ppl who have lived with her 24/7 are all wrong. They are in fact just doing what comes naturally. That is they shun ppl in a group who act in a way that either irritates and/or frustrates them.

Sorry to shoot you down, but maybe next time you will post something a little more factual, rather than your diatribe which is full of assumptions

All assumptions or YOUR opinion not fact mate. How about starting your posts with "I think" or "In my opinion" It will serve you well.

Also Bradley said that to Sam when he meet him in the Captain Quarters.

Trouble is when Brad told Sam about Estelle's background he had a fair note of sarcasm in his voice as is he and the other HMs didn't believe her.

Who are people to say "Oh you think you had a hard life well look at mine" bla bla bla, everyone is different and everyone has there limits and breaking points.

im an estelle fan but i'm unsure of this "hard life" shes had. anyone able to verify? still curious lol.
@SaysWho since you seem to know her; do you have any insite?

I think there's some more recent Estelle threads you could have asked that in rather than this 2 year old one!

I know bits and pieces but not a lot that I'd feel comfortable sharing, sorry.
I'll tell you that there was none of that pony club, private school thing that some people have mentioned.
She hasn't had an easy life by any means, but I don't think it's necessary to dig up the stuff about addiction. That was a personal moment and wasn't meant to be aired. It was spoken about once, and upset her, so I wouldn't delve too deep into that issue. She's a very talented rider and has travelled across the world for that - she was supposed to go to Japan to work (I think, can't remember all the details) but broke her arm/wrist/something in that limb. That's when she applied for Big Brother.
Some things are best left unsaid, but Estelle has had struggles in her life and is no victim-playing princess. I'll leave you with that for the moment.
