Estelle's "hard life"

BB gets an A for educational value

I found I am aspie from here and i thought I was just a stoner makes ya think

It is very good you learned something about yourself. I learned something about a relative by marriage, when before I thought he was a narcisistic dickhead, now I think he has Aspie traits.

We should get Bradleys family to go public to advance understanding of Aspies.

Its a small town i would think leave them all alone and let brad to his thing

um i didnt learn anything about me mate I learned how misdiagnosis from a bunch of armchair non accredited twonks can hurt others

but hey take care

someone should ask them

It depends what they want.

At the moment if nothing is said in the house before Brad leaves, and that could be sooner rather than later, he will come out as a young dickhead, and that is all people will ever think of him.

It is a very small town they may think he has done well and....if the armchairs in here are right...he probably has done well

I like the way you put that.

Also, it's not anyone's obligation to declare their "diagnosis". There are plenty of people who don't have a recognised disease or disability, but they are not coming out and saying, 'Hey, I've got this major personality flaw.'

neurology not personality

Also (and this applies equally to the Estelle's hard life thread), it's not anyone's obligation to declare their "diagnosis". There are plenty of people who don't have a recognised disease or disability, but they are not coming out and saying, 'Hey, I've got this major personality flaw.'

Unfortunately Brad is coming across as a narcisistic dickhead.

Narcissism is a personality disorder, Aspergers is not.

exclusive brethren church

There was a live update yesterday (which I can't find) where Bradley asked Estelle how she got her 2 properties, and she answered " I work for the government, that's all I can say"...or something similar to that. I'm not sure what government job gives you properties, but, maybe she CAN"T say how she got them.

There are subtle clues about her religious affiliations.

It is posible she has contact with The Exclusive Brethren, a Christian "cult" where members are not alowed to associate with outsiders, and contribute a significant proportion of their income for church property, which can be given to church members.

They also have some interesting ideas about curing gays: http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/exclusive-brethren-gp-banned-for-prescribing-gay-cure-20120904-25cnu.html

The secrecy of church members means that there are only ocasionally alegations of abuse by church leaders towards obedient church members.

Church leaders can order that a split family that remains with the church shun the other part of the family who questioned the church.

Uuuuum...I don't even...

You better still have a Southside accent Tracey.

I would be disappointed if you are all Northside/Noosa, just cause you left tha hood.

What sorta nursing are you doing?

Never fear.

You can take the Southside bogan out of the hood, but you can't take the hood out of the Southside bogan.

I think I have over-shared enough in this thread, I will send you a PM outlining my nursing studies.

Every time I read your "Josh gave me the clap" thingy I giggle like a mental health patient with a box of matches...

This is getting off-topic and Marty I don't mean to pick a fight with you, but my best friend in high school was in the Brethren and this is my experience:

I visited her house often although she never visited mine as we had TV etc.
My Dad did business with her Dad.
This religion isn't a cult although it does shun publicity as do other small religions eg Druze.
This need for privacy (which we all have, only most of us don't generate such curiosity) means the press can go rampant with conspiracy theories.
My friend is no longer in the Church but her parents are. They all live on the same property.
The religion is family-based (and this is my personal opinion - nothing fosters child abuse like a family.)
The girls don't wear trousers or shorts. At any age, as far as I can tell.
They don't like, and nor would a lot of people like, their photo being posted on the web like they are Exhibit A.

My kid goes to school with a kid whose mother dresses like one of the Brethren. We've been to each others' house but I haven't asked her any questions about her religion and she hasn't asked any questions about mine.

That's good to hear, actually. They get very bad press. I turned down a job teaching at a Brethren school because I didn't want to support the separatist policy they have... then I worked at an Orthodox Jewish school which was worse.
