Don't think these HMs could survive a week in

the BBUS house. The BBAUS HMs keep talking about not liking others who are 'playing the game'. They also have stated they don't understand how someone could hurt another HM just to win. Case in point: Estelle said "It sucks that people are willing to tread on people to get to wherever it is they are going". Wherever it is?!? Wake up! You are on a GAME show to win $$$.
If they were in the house with Dan from this past season's BBUS I think they would implode.
Perhaps it is the sheer fact that they cannot discuss noms that is making them think this way. I just don't get it.

Your American. We don't understand your win at all costs either:)
You need to understand our culture if your going to watch and wonder about our HMs.

1. We are a more gentle and laid back people, we have lots of space, sunshine and fresh air to keep us peaceful -
plus we have no borders with anyone, we are isolated, no wars here

2. We are the descendants of poor bastards sent here for being poor and stealing bread, plus some real convicts and migrants.
Rebels, or made into rebels and anti establishment.
We did NOT get all the persecuted religious you got; we are rather godless, if our PM praised god we would think they are weird

3. Our greatest historical hero, was an outlaw, Ned kelly waged a mini war against 'troopers' corrupt cops back then, as well as robbing.

4. We do not respect authority automatically, we have a natural cynicism about all authority because of our history.
(eg You guys revere Presidents, the flag and all that stuff; we cut our leaders down any time we can, and you can burn our flag - not nice but not going to make most people go nuts)

5. We are a meritocracy, you win in life from your own efforts; don't know why but this can translate into mediocrity - we are so damn equal nobody can stand out as 'better', we cannot bragg or your going to get cut down as too big for your boots.

6. If they called BB a sport - the winning thing wouldn't be a problem, we understand and kill to win at sport of any kind.
But this is judging people, so generally any BB winner has to be a good person, if you have suffered that's a winner; 1st 2 winners had sob stories

It's these differences that make it fascinating watching different cultures that speak the same language. We speak the same language as you but we are very different. Being so isolated has also made us big travellers and adventurers

Aussies are competitive, but historically good sportsmanship is admired most

Also the housemates in BBUS go in expecting to play hard openly plan alliances, our show you cant, Im sure if they went in knowing that they would, I think in lots of way our game is harder in terms of playing the game, you need to be able to subtlety be strategic at the same time endear yourself to the general audience, if BBUS still had public vote the game would change for them too, the are pretty much different shows really.

It would be a great strategy for a HM to go in there and stake a claim as - Aussies this is a sport, we like to win at sports, I'm here to win but I will play as fair as is possible but don't kill me if I have to be a tiny bit sneaky.

And just keep updating in the Diary room to keep the audience onside, sports reports and analyse the play and players - they just might get respect and a win.

The two shows are so, so different on so many levels though.

I attempted to watch some of BBUS a few years ago and totally couldn't stand it. I don't get how a show like that can even be classified under the Big Brother format at all, it is so different to the styles of BBUK and BBAU, and from what I remember it felt way too contrived, forced and, honestly, even a bit fake. But then again, I get the same feeling from all American reality TV shows.

This season is totally schitzophrenic, BB is pushing the 'competition' angle - yet they're not allowed to talk about nominations??? So they have to plot to win the competition without being able to talk about the biggest part?? (Noms?)

The first series WAS the best because they didnt know how many was watching or anything, now they do, however they may think we are watching more than we are, with no live streaming
