I don't like it
I am disgusted by some of the threads on this forum with polls such as "Is Estelle a great hulking dyke".

Unnecessary, unintelligent and totally appalling. This has nothing to do with intelligent discussion of human behaviours and should be shut down. Stop hate speak, please.
 
Yet starting a thread to complain about the quality of conversation is a move in the right direction... Why wouldn't you just contact the admin privately if you really wanted these kind of threads to be locked down?

What kind of forum do you want? One where we all talk about how cute and different B-rad is? How much of a bombshell Ava is and how the rift between Angie and Estelle is oh so exciting? How about what a desirable hunk Josh is and how sweet and humble millionaire George comes across?

I'd rather fucking die.

So would I, AusKat. But discussion doesn't have to be at the level of what someone's sexuality might or might not be. I'm all for vigorous and robust discussion as long as it's meaningful, but not at the level of 'She's such a lesbo' or 'He's such a gay bitch'. That is soooo boring.

And as for contacting admin privately, I'd rather posters read this and actually thought about their posts before they committed to publicly embarrassing themselves.
 
If you actually read the thread about Estelle being a big ol' licker (which I started, the vile slag I am) you would see there is reasonably intelligent character discussion in there. It would explain the inconsistencies in Estelle's portrayal if she were in fact struggling to come to terms with her same-sex attraction. This aspect could make Estelle a very interesting candidate to keep in longer to see if she manages to grow and mature within the house and become more at peace, or at one if you will, with who she is inside.

Big deal if the discussion was packaged with a whole heap of filth. Lighten up a bit, maybe?

Wow the hypocrisy! I am all for stopping the hate threads but you just had a go at me for reporting someone for using homophobic slurs and insults.

Well, not quite. I read the comment and thought 'fag hag' was actually something that I've been quite pleased to be called. Is all.
 
Oh dear. I may be time to step away from the keyboard.

There's no real point is typing in an angry manner at someone in order to get your point across.

If you think someone is truly offensive in what they think and post, block them. That's it. That's all you have to do.

Going about the place calling people names and getting yourself all in a state only serves to up your blood pressure.

Step back and get some perspective :)

Well you should have read the context it was posted in and the reasons I explained for reporting that post before you jumped the gun and took a side.

Oh dear, another heartless person who thinks hate speech constitutes "free speech" and should be protected, meanwhile gay kids are killing themselves over such comments.
