Episode Day 8 (15/09/2014): Monday Night Live #1

You cannot be sexist towards men. It is just hurt feelings. They are not OPPRESSED based on gender. Just like you cannot be racist towards white people. They are not systematically oppressed based on race. But it's nothing new for people to be so incredibly ignorant - it's how these systems of oppression continue to thrive and remain unchanged...I bet my ass that its white men making the most stupid comments in this forum
lol that's racist

That sounds racist and sexist to me.

Why are blanket statements like that about men ok?

Because we're men sweetie, we just have to deal with it. Don't try and fight it.

I believe in total equality, but that will NEVER happen. There will always be extremists who think that either sex is better than the the other.

Yet men - were responsible for bullying that girl to death that changed the laws in Melbourne.
Men - are indeed capable of utterly controlling women with evil words, ask the family violence victims they isolate, humiliate, and hurt.
I would argue that someone who can be controlled by words would be controlled by either sex...and if you look back in their earlier family life you may find a pattern of being dominated by either or both parents first.

However...
in this case...
the comments were meant for a men's conversation and NOT for her ears. The comments were in not way domestic violence/isolating/psychological violence. NOTHING like that. And to bring domestic violence into this instance is insane and overkill.

If he had gone up to her and told her to fold her boobs back into her bra then we would have a conversation on our hands.
