Episode Day 30 Finale Show - 8/12/2025

A lot of it is budget but it’s not all that, they changed things that have nothing to do with it. I really don’t think the world has changed that much that the show how it was would not work in today’s audience.
Exactly. A lot of the needed changes don't even cost anything. It's mostly how it's being run behind the scenes and how it's being edited. Those people are already there and already have the tools needed.

Agreed. I assume a large chunk of the budget must come from sponsorships. Especially with earlier seasons having prize funds of a million, cash eviction prizes, new cars, etc.

With its current model the show has an early expiration date. I'm finally getting around to the 06 Finale and it's just lightyears better than what we just watched.
Ad and sponsorship revenue.

The problem Ten will have had shopping this season around is low audience sentiment after the Seven era, a shorter production run with an undefined end date, and airing at a time of year where media spend is already competitive and expensive. They weren't in a position to ask for much.

Sponsor packages go up into the millions for Tier 1. Pickers would have gotten a bargain and it's low hanging fruit (FMCG is flushed with cash to burn), but we also saw that more reputable brands like KFC and Expedia came on board in the final week once the ratings and demo engagement was clear. Ad spots were locked in months ago so there was no turning that ship around.

Given how well the series has performed, there's no doubt there'll be a lot more money in the budget for next year.

I wish there was some super rich BB mega fan/s that would invest a shit load into the show to make it near the same budget it used to be cause I don’t think it’ll ever get close. In saying that I still did enjoy aspects of the season mainly having the live stream back. I just love watching people interact. It was fun. It won’t last beyond another 2 seasons as it is though, I am confident in that. And I don’t believe that they will make any major upgrades. Oh well back to my bingeing season 4!
Unfortunately thanks to people who voted for Paul Keating and John Howard, this will never become a reality

Hmmm. So social media accounts such as TikTok and Instagram etc all appeared to heavily back Emily for the win.

Whilst I am not on those platforms, screenshots posted here in this forum seemed to confirm that. And, of course, there were quite a number of us on this forum who wanted Emily to win as well.

Now, if the people on said social media platforms, and various people on here, all allegedly make up the larger majorty of people who vote for this show, then I am struggling to understand why Emily therefore did not get the numbers to win?

Conspiracy theory much?

Polls on most Facebook groups (which I think are more representative of the majority of the audience) had Coco in front if that helps

Hmmm. OK. If that is indeed more representative of the majority of the voting audience, then fair enough, I suppose it makes sense.

Many years ago, I concluded, rightly or wrongly, that who wins is decided by mums who very casually watch with their kids. Cracko winning fits in line with this. The struggling mum story. Mising her kids, the repeated ads of her phone call to them. They can just latch onto that basic idea of who Coco is and vote. The several weeks lusting after 'loveable larkin" Bruce with his six pack also probably appealed to them.

They would have automatically sided with Coco when she bitched about Holly. As a well put together, pretty model, who watches what she eats, is vocal about that would be an instant hate. Any nuance their surface level viewing could have picked up on Coco being the problem won't exist as a result.

Em can't compete with any of that because she won't have left much of an impression to them.

No, they weren’t asked to return. Only Holly was invited (and Ed and Conor by default, as they were there for the previous night’s live show).

None of them were featured anyway, they were all just relegated to watch from the last row of the crowd. lol
I loved that for Holly.

What was with the last minute KFC endorsement? Like trying to get them onboard for next season? It was really weird.
