Episode Day 30 Finale Show - 8/12/2025

Just caught up on catch up, I didn't mind the EPIC music underscoring the final evictions actually although it was a little OTT in parts, must admit it got the feels a little bit.

yes at wtf was with that at not showing Emily's walkout, at least its on bts socials I see here but still. GET IT TOGETHER TEN. Less half assing it for 2026 yeah?, you've had your test run, now learn from it. please.

The Jimny game was a bit edge of your seat, probably could've worked as its own final twist episode if they had a decent length season this year and it wasn't only a month and they crammed in 3 Twisty evictions in the finale week including on the actual finale night itself.

Nice to see they actually put in some VT Team editing for some actual 'Best Bits' packages for the Finale too, better late than never. BB narrating it was a bit much, but we'll take it. Give 'em a point.

And yeah bit of a surprise order and Winner, Congrats Coco.

I'll be back off to my Classiques BBUK watchthrough now (CBBUK12) but just another note of thanks to everyone here once again for the laughs both the live thread watches, the live stream watches, and the moments inbetween on catch up threads during this BBAU season. It's been fun.

I've just taken a look at the 2003 OG BB finale, which to me, 2001-2006 was peak BB with 2003 being peak of the peak for the show in Australia, the one that Reggie won, and holy heck the quality is night and day.

They looked back at all the previous housemates in a montage, then they had Reggie's and Chrissie's relatives on stage for an interview, then 35mins (of a 2 hour show) in they announced Reggie as the winner and Chrissie left the house, to which a detailed sit down interview was held, and then Gretal brought Reggie out of the house with all sorts of entertaining stuff on both sides of them, and previous housemates joined them in order of eviction, there was fireworks, an very loud audience. It's giving me goosebumps thinking of it - it was an event, and heck, they just had Reggie and Chrissie in the house, that was it for the finale, no 5 housemates with 4 to evict in a short amount of time.

This finale was just depressing to watch, with all life sucked out of it, and the runner up Emily not getting any interview is disgusting.

One of the big drawbacks to streaming is that producers and production teams that deal with event live television aren't as expereinced as they were in the days before streaming, so I get that there is clearly an experience gap going on behind the scenes, but my god, surely they would've been able to emulate the OG finale's in some respect even with limited to no budget. This I hope will be a massive wake up call to those working behind the scenes - I'd love it if they brought back one of the Exec Producers from the OG days like Peter Abbott or Kris Noble to shake the production up and bring it up to some sort of professionalism as this finale was frankly a disaster.

How soon will Coco get her cheque? At least her kids will have a great Christmas and maybe go on vacation.
Earlier today on stream, Bruce and Colin were talking about it and it sounded like the money gets transferred after 30 days.
There's probably final checks and balances that need to be done (or, more likely, production needs to draw straws for who sells their kidney to come up with the funds).

She's already got her hefty divorce settlement, people who know her have said. That story about being a struggling single mum doesn't marry with her holidays without the kids to Byron for surfing, and her planned holiday without the kids to Bali after the show.

I think I might start my re-watch of BBAU 2 on YouTube (I missed the marathon stream) before bed tonight to calm down. I know it's irratonal, but I'm still really miffed by tonight's finale (most notably, the outcome and also the fact Emily got no exit interview). I need something to wash the bad taste out of my mouth.

I have just come in from a Christmas function and watched the finale on catchup. I know Mel showed Emily her montage and had a chat to her on the couch ... and production probably think that counts ... but to not give her an exit door to stage and crowd cheering experience, and brief stage interview, like everyone else got is just deplorable to me. The inconsistency of this production and the team behind it is just baffling.

I will read the rest of this thread, from start to finish tomorrow ... and throw in my other thoughts and comments ... but I wanted to get that little snippet off my chest right now.

Deplorable, just deplorable.
