I have a theory that Katie would've been more toned down/mellow on the bitch front if Lisa wasn't there.
A bitchy girl on their own is usually calmer, pair them with another similar girl and all hell breaks loose. It seems to enhance the nastiness when they're together, pack mentality I guess.

I agree and disagree. People are naturally competitive. Even if it's good natured, people still like to be better at something they enjoy doing than the next person. Your theory involves pairing two similar types and hell breaking loose. That's correct and I think the reason why is when you have two bitchy people trying to outdo each other doing something they are good at, it becomes the inevitable result.
If Lisa had not been there, Katie would have found the next most bitchy girl in the house and partnered up with her.
Same result, different path to get there.
