Episode DAY 10: DAILY SHOW (60m) + CONFIDENTIAL (30m)

I liked Confidential, thought it was a huge improvement on last year. They got rid of all the silly editing and packages and just showed a bunch of random extra scenes from the house throughout the week. That's what I like seeing. Especially the extra diary room bits, even if there's no real point to them. I hope they stick with this formula and don't go back to all the silly sh*t.

edit: thanks marq!

Fixed :D

I do agree, the first Confidential of the year is better than the crap dished up last year. I just wish there was a little order to it all - e.g. what Day did it occur on? what time did it happen? And they definitely need to separate it from the daily show. There was no indication of when the daily show events finished and Confidential started.

Well said - in all honesty the show would be wonderful if it was in ORDER - it's just all over the place this year and just focusing on the twists and only 1 or 2 people in the house doesn't make for good viewing or for anyone to be able to warrant saving a housemate they know NOTHING about!

Totally agree!

I (unlike most here) am enjoying the show. The HMs seem like pretty cool people, BB is pretty chilled (and a bit flirty!) and Sonya has been gorgeous and great.

I even liked the skeleton story to put Tim to sleep.

I don't really like the fence but it is a great device to create tension in the house. At least they get the same food, otherwise it would get pretty nasty, pretty quick I reckon.

Like others though, I want to get more depth from everyone plus some non-PG Confidential would be nice ;) Oh, and live cams in the house!

Mikkaylah better not go, I like her!
Absolutely agree - think she's safe though as long as Sharon doesn't get saved.

What the fuck was the point of that flashback of the argument between Mikkayla and Tully? So far we have seen 3 diary room entries and Ben talking to his photo's plus a flashback. SHOW US SOME FUCKING HOUSEMATES INTERACTIONS.
Here here.
If Noms were last night, how come Tim, Drew and the rest noms are in the HWH backyard?

Wait, what?

Maybe noms was filmed in the MORNING!
The only thing I can think of is that nominations were in fact filmed earlier that morning. Did we see any footage of them actually outside (with nighttime) during the whole nominations scenes before?
so yes bb said "i said that this morning to tim" so noms were filmed in the morning
Exactly - absolutely clear from this episode the noms were recorded Tuesday morning, and absolutely clear last night the nominations were not live.

The audio cuts of this episode are really badly edited too btw.
What? That BB audio was so added in afterwards.
No, really. BB's "Nominations are not final" line was clearly dubbed over. It sounded different to the previous audio and the footage showed no reaction from Tim.
It's one of my biggest bug bears - obviously dropped in audio cuts. It wasn't necessary here, but you'd think any TV show having to do it would at least by now be able to do it in a way so it's not obvious. In every TV show that does it it's always blatantly obvious.

Stop giving tasks to Ben? Seriously. Stop it. In BBUK, they give tasks to everyone, giving everyone more or less equal airtime to the best of their abilities.
Well BBUK gave every task in Celebrity Big Brother to Speidi and Rylan. Sadly it's an increasing trend of BB worldwide to assign tasks to chosen HMs rather than let things pan out rather randomly.

I am calling it now, this is the worst daily show of all time. I think for the first time ever I have absolutely zero interest. It is so depressing have zero interest in your favourite show. I am not even watching, the show is on in the background but I am on my computer. Nothing but this stupid, boring task, Ben getting silly gimmicks, flashbacks that we have already seen like 5 times, confusion because nominations were supposedly last night but yesterdays day footage is of the nominated housemates in the half way house. This is fucked.
It was absolutely awful - boring to the extreme. Confidential was dire too - so slow. Last year wasn't great but at least it was quite pacey and fun - tonight it was just dull. Can't beleive they wasted three minutes replaying the online clip of the HMs asking questions in lockdown - how about showing us more of the HMs interacting in the house FFS.

I hope Channel 9 does axe it this year. Channel 10 will jump at the chance to have those numbers on their channel, and we'll all be better off for it.
I guess if it went back to Channel 10 it would mean a new host as Sonia probably wouldn't go with it. Kyle Sandilands seems to be the only Aussie who switches networks regularly.

did you guys just see how bad that cut was?/
Terrible - as if they were ashamed to say Confidential had started.

The Boiler suit task in the halfway house could see some interesting convos between the pairs in the middle of the night.0..surely?

Bonding even...or is that asking to MUCH????
I'm not even sure they did it over night - was no indication anyone was there when Xavier and Tully went out in the tent.

the Theorist,

Noms had a live Audience with Sonya.

The Nominations with housemates was filmed live Tuesday Night.

Did you not see the bug on the chamber, if it wasn't live, they would have re filmed it without the bug.

But there was nothing that could be done as it was LIVE.
Why are you lying to us Goon - though you had more respect for the people here than that. It was absolutely clear from the nominations show itself the nominations at least were not live, and it's been confirmed in tonights daily show they took place yesterday morning.

I'm also doubting the nominations show was filmed on the main set - looked very much like a secondary set to me (which is fine) - it's been suggested Shelly Craft filmed her Showdown segment in Sydney so wondering if this is where Sonia filmed the nominations part so she isn't tied to the Gold Coast for as much of the week. (What days is Sonia hosting Mornings during BB?)

If you're going to provide inside information Goon at least be accurate - don't just try and cover up BB's little tricks.

Oh, and how wEiRd was Ben's voice when he was not doing his normal effeminate, high pitched voice (during dress-ups in the diary room with Tim).

I know it has all been said before, but I simply want to voice my agreement, last nights show was awful.

It has stopped being about us being able to spy on a group of people in a controlled environment and started being about the Big Brother Show with most of the screened interaction being about the interaction between BB and the contestants, rather than focusing on the interaction between just the contestants and the mundane hours they need to fill each day.

The producers really need to bring the show back to basics, rather than creating characters like a manufactured sitcom, they need to focus on housemate interaction. The BB and Ben's job interview bullshit really really irritated me, then we had Tim in the Diary Room and once again the show being about BB's interaction with housemates rather than housemates interaction with housemates. We know some of the relationships in the house are wearing thin, and yet we have no idea why?!

It makes me so sad to say it, because I really want to love the show, but last nights episode really really sucked balls (bad way guys). It was awful.

I think the problem with the shallowness of the show right now is the fact that they have about 40 different twists going on at once and they are trying hard to milk those twists. And so as a result there's no time in an episode to see the random stuff where people just sit around and talk and the full extent of some of the fights. If they got rid of the twists, made the episodes completely chronological, stopped focusing on people talking to their photos in every episode and just had 17 people sitting in a house left to their own devices our daily shows would absolutely be able to have everything fit into 20 min. I'm over twists. And I'm over the talking fish that is a completely different colour to all those dead fish from last year.

I preferred confidential tonight.

We got to see Jasmine & she seemed really nice.

Matt ran away when Ben decided to 'kiss'; him through the perspex, Xavier didn't give a shyte about it & joined in the kissing.

There is something about Matt that I don't like. But I don't know what it is.

Tim made me laugh a few times, Drew I think is quite boring, same with Jade.

Mikkayla could talk underwater & that laugh of hers. I still like her.
Dammit! I should have watched Confidential! I thought it would be the same crap as last year! I'll know better next week.

I hope they stick with this formula too. This is how it should have been done last year.

I cant find confidential on the ninemsn catch up tv site. Is it there? NBN didnt show it last night and Im pissed off

Wow, Confidential 2013 is actually watchable. Thank god they abandoned the 2012 format.

They've at least done one thing right this year...

I've got to give Alex M credit for doing a deal with an air freshener company, because last night's episode STANK.

Haven't been here for a few days so I missed the debate about noms being live/not live, it's certainly possible Sonja with the audience was live, but the actual nominations definitely weren't. The most obvious giveaway was the lack of a 'LIVE HOUSE' tag in the corner of the screen. But there were little things, like you could see edit points where housemates suddenly got up and entered the chamber a bit too quickly. Plus every time they went between the house and Sonja it was always timed too perfectly, there were none of those pauses and moments you wait for someone to speak or get in position like we've always had in the past on a live show.

I had assumed the noms were recorded on Monday night, but that comment by BB certainly implied it was done Tues morning, which also fit into the continuity of the rest of the show. It means Wednesday's daily show can continue directly on, from where the main house/halfway HMs get rearranged. Plus there's no windows in the lounge room so you can never tell what time of day it is in there.

Goon - you know they never reshoot anything with the housemates, so the bug on the window doesn't mean anything.

I'm guessing Sonja & the audience (plus Shelley) were done from Ch 9 in Sydney? They have one of those big wraparound screens, it's used in a lot of their other shows.

It's disrespectful enough that producers think we won't notice how badly produced it is, but this is a straight up lie. Either that or Drew (I think it was) appeared in the chamber like a Harry Potter fireplace and should be thrown out for being a wizard.

Hi Nat you might find that the confidential program is a run on from the Daily show and NBN did broadcast it after Arrow...think it was on around 9:40

And the part where the Hms nominated was definitely in the morning...for one Ben in his green shirt (same as when he nommed) talking to his mummy and nan pics was saying it was a very heavy morning...the other thing is their clothes and of course the task was given to them on the Tuesday ...after they had done nominations...perhaps the part with Sonia was live but the nomination process was not.
