I couldn’t agree more with these points about the show not being like the old format!
I have so many criticisms of the Channel 10 reboot that I'm not sure if I can write them all.
I recently rewatched the first season of BBAU when it was uploaded to YouTube for a dose of nostalgia. In contrast, the current season is incredibly disappointing, especially considering the sheer volume of content Channel 10 used to produce.
The decision to cut the Saturday shows is ridiculous, as they expect the housemates to do and say nothing for an entire day, and it causes non-livestream viewers to miss out on so many moments.
The eviction nights feel painfully bland due to the tiny, uncovered stage (which is a bizarre choice for Queensland spring weather?!?) and the lack of sit-down interviews, highlight reels, or nomination reveals, which have been mentioned in the thread earlier. The live audience is so small and nowhere near as exciting or engaging as it was before.
I also have a huge issue with the house location. I liked it when it was secluded, but having it so close to the theme park that randoms can yell into the backyard is just so weird and distracting for the viewer and the HMs.
I was one of the people who took their marketing to mean that the return to OG Big Brother was going to be like the original, and I am disappointed because the production misses the mark on almost everything that makes the original so good!
