Dave not gay?

So I thought Dave came out on BB, an iconic moment and such an awesome piece of BB history.

But today he posted this on his IG, which makes it a bit confusing. I know sexuality is like a very open and fluid thing, and it may be stupid to question but I thought his thing was coming out as a gay man.

Whether he is or he isn't really is his business and nobodies elses but don't take everything posted on Instagram literally. "Girlfriend" doesn't necessarily mean in the romantic sense.

Whether it is or isn’t, to me this reads as “girlfriend” in the same way any female-identifying person would also refer to their friend that’s a girl.

I call my female friends "girlfriends". Many women do the same. I don't think the term is isolated to only mean female partner.
