The term bunny boiler comes from the 1987 movie, 'Fatal Attraction.' In the movie a man has what he believes to be a short and meaningless fling outside of his marriage. The woman he cheats on his wife with however, doesn't see things that way, and starts acting in a more and more crazy manner in a bid to win the man back. In one of the scenes, she breaks in the mans house, takes his daughters pet rabbit, and boils it in a pot for when they return. Bunny boiler therefore means a crazy ex, still obsessing over there former partner, and acting in a scary, stalkerish manner.
