Big Brother: The records (The statistics page)

Now that 2008 has ended, here are some stats about last year.

Total number of Big Brothers = 25 (one more than 2007 and same as 2006)
Total number of Big Brother main editions = 19 (same as 2007)
Number of new countries doing BB = 2 (Albania & Israel)

Big Brother was taking place somewhere in the world every second of every day during 2008.

In 2008 we had the closest final ever which was BB8 Brazil when Rafinha won by just 0.3% of the vote.

In 2008 there were 24 winners, 17 were male and 7 were female.
Just counting main editions there were 17 winners (12 male, 5 female).

20 housemates were ejected (11 more than 2007 and 6 more than the previous record from 2006)

23 housemated voluntarily left which is 14 fewer than the 2007 total.

Could Celebrity BB 3 UK be the Big Brother with the oldest housemates with a mean of 46 years old?

Is that for BBUK? I wonder what the average age for BBUSA is since Jerry entered the house lol.

I think the average age for each BBUK would be an interesting stat since our BB6 in 2006 averaged just under 22 and that series caused the most problems, turkey slap being the biggest. BBUK always seem to have a higher mean average age mix therefore the show is a lot better :)

I was going to post this on 13th January, but I forgot.

On 13th January 2004, Big Brother 4 Brazil launched. There has been a Big Brother running somewhere in the world every second of every day since then. That is now 5 years and 2 days of consecutive worldwide Big Brother.

I would guess if BB Germany last till it's intended finish date (which considering current ratings isn't guaranteed), we're probably guaranteed that record will continue through to September with BBUK/USA, and then through to the end of the year with Spain.

I think that GH10 Spain will be the 7th longest season in the world and the most longest in Spain.

GH1: 90 days
GH2: 101 days
GH3: 101 days
GH4: 102 days
GH5: 112 days
GH6: 109 days
GH7: 108 days
GH8: 105 days
GH9: 109 days
GH10: 123 days (If the season ends at Thursday 22nd January)

Yes, GH10 Spain will be the 7th logest in the world (at least for a few months before it is overtaken by BB9 Germany)

1) BB5 Germany = 365 days
2) BB6 Germany = 363 days
3) BB8 Germany = 183 days
4) BB7 Germany = 148 days
5) BB2 Philippines = 126 days
6) GH3 Argentina = 125 days
7) GH10 Spain = 124 days
8) BB4 Portugal = 123 days
=9) BB2 Mexico = 121 days
=9) BB5 Netherlands = 121 days
=9) BB3 Portugal = 121 days

Person to spend the longest time in the House as a Housemate:

Sascha S = 485 days (365 days in BB5 Germany & 120 days in BB9 Germany)

A couple of records from the recently ended VIP Brother 3 Bulgaria edition.

Most competing housemates in a final = 7
Longest ever final = Just over 10 hours
