Big Brother Canada ends season early due to COVID-19 developments

Never really got to the bottom of that I think but there were certainly two factors in the balance.
Firstly the lease on the house had run out, so they had to relocate (again). Secondly and I think more crucially was the US had commissioned Celebrity Big Brother to run, so perhaps Global just thought with that due to air and a new location for the house to be found they'd take the easy route and not bother with a local version.
I also wondered if the intention may have been to move it to the fall, hence it went on "hiatus" for that TV season but would have aired later that year, but technically miss a TV season. I suspect though they'd have been clearer about that and surely had that been the plan they wouldn't have aired another 4 seasons in the Spring.
P.S. In other Big Brother Canada related news Ika has quit her role on ET Canada after she called out their response to the Black Lives Matter movement.
