Big Brother Australia 2026 rumours

Some of the clean tracks like 2005-2007 and 2008 themes were originally available via 3 Mobile ($6/month for BB including live stream access, mp3 ringtone, and more). Then there was the 2003 Unseen, Uncut, Unreal DVD that had the 2003 bed.

There were probably lots of audio goodies that were missed on the old unencrypted satellite feeds on live show days as well - one 2007 eviction rehearsal was capped by someone from this and it had the walkdown bed mostly clean. I think it wasn't until 2008 that encryption was used (after the 2007 finale rehearsal was captured and leaked online). AI powered audio splitting tools can sometimes help remove unwanted noise but quality varies significantly. Nothing beats an original clean clip.

I get they probably thought the show was finito but I can’t wrap my head around how they just didn’t care to archive or back anything up. The hard drive can’t be read? There’s recovery services for that stuff. Maybe they don’t want to invest too much into it.

I’ve also noticed their true episode uploads to YT have bumpers and credits removed. Most won’t care but I always like having the full thing.

Yes - baffling as anyone interested enough to watch old episodes on YouTube is likely to want the full package. It's similar with the old Neighbours episodes - the titles from any era are a huge part of the show so cutting them makes no sense. Don't think YouTube has the skip option which is the best compromise really.

Well, they did. But they only made a single copy of it all. And put it all on one harddrive. Apparently the broken hard drive contains all the music created for the show and the master copies of the intros.

You'd think Visual Playground would have a bunch of the assets in the archives of their own work they could hand over too.

Having one master hard drive isn’t backing it up, but I digress. I’m sure the post companies purge their old data after a while for their newer clients. That being said, they could have backups but haven’t been asked to share.

How did you get all the themes and sound effects for your collection over on SoundCloud? Did they give out everything back in the day? I think 2001 had a physical CD release, not sure about others.
2001 and 2002 both had CD's with the themes plus some relevant songs (some of which they used as incidental music in the eviction shows etc). That 'What Ya Gonna Do' by some group called 'Cry Baby' was a jam I often remember from the 2002 one that would be great if it popped up on streaming or whatever eventually.

It even had some bigger songs like 'Hit Em Up Style' by Blu Cantrell and a remix of Alcazar's 'Crying at the Discotheque' on the the 'Intruder Disc' lol: https://www.discogs.com/release/20106592-Various-Big-Brother-2002

Interesting. I clicked on 001 Productions on that list and it seems there is/was two official variants of the actual theme released.

2001 had a single released and the track has a runtime of 3m26s (which is what I ripped and put on Soundcloud and is also what is up on the official YouTube channel), but the 2001 album is a Radio Edit with a runtime of 3m47s... Surprisingly, (if I cared enough) its quite easy to find copies of the album listed on eBay to get a copy of that track. I counted eight different listings. 😂

What are the chances that this is a clean copy of the theme without all the voices and crap overlayed on the 3m26s edit?

I have both of those CDs (Single and Album) and can confirm they both share the same runtime of 3m26s. Sadly, they're both the same edit, with all the bullshit overlayed.

On the Album though, there is a Track 18: Big Brother Bonus Video (PC compatible only) which includes the theme, which I assume is the one already on YouTube. I can't check the run time as it won't work on my XBox.

It's 3m31s according to VLC.

The other one iirc is ‘Diary room mix’ which is the one that has that awesome bass build up once it gets going and is kinda like a remix. it would sometimes play I think under nominations numbers segments or when the evictee was about to be delivered to the stage and bits like that.
