Big Brother Australia 2026 rumours

Arguably Temu housemates too.. But I definitely prefer to watch these real peeps over insta wannabee's and clout goblins..
But there were clout goblins in there this year. Holly is a perfect example of that.

Maybe next year the casting team will actually stick to their own casting rules and bring some normal people in. Emily was about the most normal “everyday” person in there this year.

Felt like they had a few “normal, everyday” people which I give them credit for. Emily, Ed, Alanah, Mia, even Jane are probably closer to that description than social media famous wannabes. They just need to find some more diverse, interesting people next year and back that angle completely as opposed to sourcing out a few Holly’s/Colin’s/Vinnie’s into the mix in fear of the “normal” people not being able to provide quality to the show.

I just can’t see them doing 2 civilian seasons next year, is there any room at all in 10’s schedule for it?

Big Brother should never run for 30-40 days. It is about as natural as a 50 minute film. It's unsatisfying and uninteresting as we can't grow to like the housemates in such a short amount of time.

80 days is fulfilling and just about enough, no more, no less (even 100 days were an overkill to me).

I’d have to agree, I wouldn’t mind if Friday night live made a comeback if they could find a way to reinvent it/distance it from its controversial past. I don’t think it needs to be anything crazy, just a few challenges in an arena with commentary from maybe Mike and Mel, they seem like a good duo, would love to see them working together + special guest or ex housemate, 45 mins to an hour max.

Obviously there’s a lot they need to work on first so this would be towards the end of the priority list.

Some might argue that Saturday thing nine had flopped, therefore FNL would flop, but the challenges were absolutely horrible in that and it had no excitement/event tv feeling whatsoever.

I think FNL would be a massive hit with younger audiences and tiktok, especially with all the younger audience that got into this series, and could at least provide some variety on a Friday night for 10.

They'd need to have twin arenas/areas so they could be setting up challenges while another is in progress. They don't have the budget for this show anyway. Leave it in the dustbin of racist, homophobic history.

For the last several months since I have been following the revival of the show I keep seeing mention of this season having been a “trial run”.

Has this actually been said anywhere in an official capacity or is it all coming from a place of wishful thinking from the fans? I know some fans are still saying it now on social media and on here in defence of this season and that next years will definitely be bigger and better. I just am finding it very hard to believe at this point that we will get any huge improvement for next years. I do not want to be set up for disappointment again.

Or a team of skilled ninjas who can quickly set up all the games during each ad break.

No it has not. People have just made assumptions.

My own thinking is they would have launched a longer season earlier if Seven hadn't stood firm on the holdback. But that is also an assumption, although to me it makes more sense than "let's have a trial run season" as these deals with Endemol are usually for a three year term.

Yeah that too, it had very strong competition from the 2013 Toyota AFL premiership season which is an Australian obsession on winter weekends.
If I ever got on Big Brother, and it was during AFL season, I would want to know how good Collingwood (the team I go for) are going.

Obviously I would get Big Brother to tell me any serious family stuff (say a death in the family while I am on the show) but for any non serious things, Collingwood's performance would be something I would want to know.
