Big Brother 2006 on official YouTube Channel (Live-streamed 26-28 Sep & 3-5 Oct)

As much as I don’t like him, Michael really was screwed over by the producers with this Insider stuff. It’s like they decided very early on that he’d rubbed them the wrong way, then just threw anything and everything at him to set him up to fail. It completely consumed him.

I’d love to pull up the old threads from when Michael came to this forum years ago and spilled everything. I don’t remember exactly what his feelings were, but he was evidently left with a very bad taste by his treatment on the show. Anyone here remember when he had the Q&A with us?

David said in the stream chat that Michael immigrated to the US shortly after BB and hasn’t returned since. David also mentioned he believes Gretel was in the wrong for the “Gretel Incident”. (I mean, as entertaining and satisfying as it is to watch, she did come undone… we’re not far away from re-living it in the marathon actually.)

He really was fucked over, and I thought so at the time.

"Evil" Big Brother was stupid and annoying enough, but with BB and Gretel basically bullying him it was just over the top. He was put in an impossible position which completely ruined any chance he might have had in the show.
 
They basically set Michael up to be evicted too. Since to pass the last mission, he needed to get at least eight people to nominate him to be immune.

If he ended up with 6-7, he'd fail and be nominated. And very possibly evicted.
 
Well it was obvious Gretel was trying to gaslight everyone and they weren't falling for it. This included the flawed logic that he hadn't seen the footage so what did he know but then they refused to show it to him (probably ashamed with what they'd done to him) so he had to go by what others were saying.

Anyway, what I came here to say was that, although I watched this season on YouTube several months ago, it is refreshing to see it in full HD instead of low res blurred vision. We can now see the faces clearly, including Anna and Krystal who rather sadly, fell for the vanity of plastic surgery later on which has taken the natural beauty out of their faces.
 
Watching this back, I’m convinced something was definitely up behind-the-scenes this year. Gretel in every live episode so far is a completely different Gretel from previous seasons.

Even her interactions with the HMs, both in and out of the house, is so bad.

The way she just walked out at this latest Nominations episode - so nonchalant and dressed down. Commenting about missing her mark on the floor and rushing through the script. She’s really giving “I don’t care anymore” this season.

Yeah she's phoning it in for sure, I was thinking that yesterday. Over a few seasons she went from flirting with the guys to being actively hostile towards them.

And this is one whole year before she actually left. I wonder if she was in a contract that she couldn't get out of?
It seems to me that since Kris Noble has taken over, she has become increasingly frustrated with production, and it has shown on screen.
 
I forget how much I hate Nick as a big brother voice. The nominations shows especially! Just let them nominate whoever they want and be done with it. The whole “you’re not being clear, what are you trying to say? You’re running out of time!” gets old every time I rewatch.

I refuse to watch the Nominations shows between 2005-2007.

I liked that though, sometimes the reasons for their nominations were pathetic

I forget every single time how grating it is listening to it. Michael is nominating right now and was clear as clear can be and big brother told him he isn’t, yet Michael claps back and says he can’t be any clearer and he will simply restate what he said. Big brother just STFU and let them do it.

If this is the angle they’re going for regarding noms this year just put them in the daily show. I don’t want reasons tbh I just wanna know who’s up. It does allow insight into how each individual feels but the pressure leads to nothing but rambling out nonsense most of the time.

Personally I feel like half the time it was unnecessary. And let’s be real the people who were being cast in this era were not the smartest… Most of them were trashy youths who couldn’t articulate a thought beyond third grade level.

BB was just keeping them each speaking for two minutes to pad out the show. That's all it was about,.

Which makes for grating viewing to me. I always find myself feeling genuine frustration listening to the 06 and 07 nominations. I want to scream at the tv and tell them how to reword it to just make him SHUT THE FUCK UP
