I wonder if these episodes are digital copies? I don’t understand how they can “cut” out the bars and the slates if it’s all streaming from the tape. About a month ago they said that 2004 onward were already digitised.

They confirmed they’re definitely on tape, but I’d say still originally digital. This time last week these tapes weren’t even rewound, apparently.

So I’m 99.9% sure they’ve already digitised everything, contrary to what they say. They’re just playing the files through for the streams.

They claim they're on tape, but yes I clearly remember that they said later seasons were already digitised.

This was the season the control room and production went digital and HD (bar some house cameras which clearly aren’t)
I don’t know how true it was but I remember at the time there being the quote that this season cost $360 million to make (I feel the 0 on the end could have been a mistake), so it would account for the control room and production upgrades to HD as it would have been hella expensive back then.
