Big Brother 2005 on official YouTube channel (Live streamed Sept 12-14 + Sept 19-21)

Seems the interest has dropped off, 250 only watching the stream at the moment comparative to the other seasons streamed.

I do have to say and it is one thing I will give Noble, is that the Auditorium stage design was a pretty damn good upgrade from the past era of sets. I think visually 2005 is the best looking set, and likely why this design lasted so long, even with some screen modifications in 2006 and then the light bar additions in 2007.
Auditorium vibe though, the peak of visual and production look would have to be 2006 finale, the smoke, lights and vibe was pretty electric. Gretels entrance was great.

2005 and 2007 were pretty subdued IMO.

Nick Colquhoun, forever remembered for his pronunciation of “immediately”.
Back in the day I remember how he used to break up his sentences; "This is Big Brother... All housemates... to the diary room... immediately". I thought they just had him record generic lines and names and then they'd patch them together, so he didn't have to be there 24/7. It might have been the case but who knows.

I remember thinking at some point, whether it was this season or a future one that Nick was deputy on, that his lines were dubbed in during editing over other producers who were initially doing the voice. I also think this was his trademark sound and phraseology. Speaking live consistently like that must be difficult without stumbling or stuttering, which we've heard him do occasionally. This season has another deputy that takes over, so it's likely that the voices were done live.

Sidebar, the amount of work that must've gone into converting the games arena back and forth to an animal pen must've been quite the task. Moving the animals, moving the pens, changing out the hay (or whatever the animals crap onto), converting for the appropriate theme, etc. Never considered it before.

It used to be my favourite. But now, I think it works fine for the Evictions as they are brightly lit - but when they're using it for Nominations and other specials its far too dark and has too much black space. Especially combined with the intentional darkening of the audience sitting on the stage to hide the empty auditorium behind them.

They should've kept the 2004 set in the small side-studio, which is now being used for FNL, multi-purpose so it could still be used for Nominations/specials again.

This FNL rewatch is like watching paint dry.
The commentary from Fitzy and Mike is terrible lol
I still love the moment of Tim raging at his small bike and throwing it at the ground.

Side note, before the first ep of FNL it's mentioned that it's just Mike and Fitzy and I think Mike also says that just before the actual show as well. I wonder if Bree was a last-minute addition to the show?

Bree has previously said that originally Mike and Ryan were the only hosts of FNL. She was just a guest in the first episode. Then when they were doing rehearsals for the second episode, they realised the chemistry was off with just the two of them and quickly rushed her in for that episode. The third episode onwards was meant to be Mike and Ryan + the most recent evictee, but they kept bringing her back.

In the credits, only Mike and Ryan are credited as hosts for the first seven episodes. Bree is credited as just being a guest. She officially joins the team from the eighth episode.

I think I missed something here. Did they reduce the audience size this season?
Only for Nominations/specials. They put seats on the stage since they wouldn't fill the entire auditorium for those shows.

Gianna's eviction show never sat right with me.

They had pre-planned to bring Constance, Nelson and Angela out for a chat - and instead of doing it pre-eviction, they did it during her moment/her eviction show and she is just sitting there surrounded by people that didn't care they made it well known that they hated her in the house, she got real quiet and the focus wasn't on her at all. Which it should have been.

That's true, but it was kind of gold that they gave Gianna the car while they were up there on stage as one final humiliation to them, so perhaps that was their intention.

Also to pull Constance and Nelson on stage, only to tell them "you're now being replaced and its like you never happened".

😂 😂 😂

Yes I always felt bad for Gianna at her eviction, she couldn’t just have her moment to herself that they all deserve. Somewhat reflective of her experience in the house really.

yes, that makes two final humiliations. Bit of a shame for Gianna but overall it was worth it.

BB06 was a more popular season
