Rewatch Big Brother 2003 YouTube stream (Aug 15-17 + 22-24)

I got the Voice one lol. Maybe it's just an in-joke between them because logically you call Simon (the live director) Simmo.
I should also point out that Simon is the 'Big Brother' that Gretel is talking to (4:59 in the video). It seems that both evictees were listed on the envelope, so Gretel had to ask which house they were evicting from first.

Also, Jamie just awkwardly sitting there on the couch not knowing what do as the show continues on like he doesn't exist lol.
I found it interesting they do the eviction countdown live into the house. I was convinced for the first couple seasons that announcement was pre-recorded.

I'd love to see something similar with the shitshow the liveshows became in 2005/2006. Shame the DVDs didn't become a regular thing. 😂
A control room/director feed exists for 2012 too, if that’s any consolation.

Weird question but does anyone know the name of the female security guard from this series? She looks like a lesbian I once knew.

Wasn't sure where to post, but they've gone from uploading 2 eps per day to only 1, with the latest being the final The Insider ep. We are getting extremely close to the finale being uploaded, I wonder if they managed to source an alternative or at least repair the master tape? Or will they just upload Kevin's copy and be like "Enjoy! 👍😁👍"

I'm guessing they'll stop the uploads during the series too though they should at least finish BB03.

So tonight was the first evening in months they didn’t upload a new episode, and there’s currently no more hidden videos in the 03 playlist. They’re up to the Finale ep, so something tells me they’re still trying to source a copy or fix the damaged tape.

I know they had a lead at some point so it’s probably just taking longer than expected. Hopefully.

Honestly the Reggie Rules special had the winners announcement, that's all I wanted to see lol

So, I just skimmed through Reggie's Elder Sibling podcast stream with Rod Morris and their answer to a fan question was interesting to me.

"Did Big Brother ask you to be involved?"
Reggie: "Big Brother has NOT asked me to -- oh, they did ask me to do a video --"
Rod: "-- yeah but they wanted you to do it all for nothin'!! They were chasing me for some stuff but yeah, here's a price!!! They were like oh we don't any money. Well, SEE YA LATER BYE! Anyway...love everyone at Endemol Shine. {insert fake smile here} Hello!"

...I thought that was very telling. He sounded very sarcastic and kinda pissed off about something. We dunno his full story but, to me, that says he does have a copy of the BB03 Finale (and probably a bunch of other things) and might be wanting to gatekeep for some reason.

I reckon he has some original themes and stems 👀 and he'd have a lot of footage from over the years. Sad they didn't get him back, he was part of the OG crew.

Those who are looking for the last of BB03 I did a screen capture on the day so I have the rest of Reggie's season on my Google drive here is the link to download.
BigKevin, you are a legend. I was so wanting to finish 2003 before getting stuck into the new one. I know what I'm doing today now - work can wait 😉

Got the sense he has some unsaid beef with the current team. He was NOT happy about Leon not being the Big Brother voice - he didn't hide his dissatisfaction about that at all, quite aggressively so. He was shitting all over the new voice every time he spoke (unfairly too, imo... he was clutching at straws with some of the comments he made). Seems to further back the theory that Leon was potentially dismissed after initially being signed on to helm the revival.

...are we the drama? 🫣

I honestly don't believe it was ALL us that influenced the decision. I remember even seeing him comment on the first promo with Mel in the control room, after people were asking if he was back, and he was happy. Perhaps it was a decision based purely on the cost to have him on board. They must have been very reserved with the budget for this. Maybe we will find out in the future.

I'll admit, I never had a major issue with him being BB, however it was the exaggeration of the voice (theeuuss is Big Brother) that annoyed me at times. His normal BB voice was fine. He was part of the OG crew, so it made sense for him to return.

With Rod not involved I do wonder how many of the 9 and 10 era crew really did return.

Excuse my ignorance, but who is Rod?
Rod was one of the key production personnel during most of Ten's original run. (And possibly some or all of Nine?) He and Reggie have been doing live podcasts together since the 2020 season of BBAU.

He also has a lot of BB archives, likely master tapes of things, and memorabilia from his time on the show.

Thank you @the Theorist
