Rewatch Big Brother 2003 YouTube stream (Aug 15-17 + 22-24)

More contradictory statements from BB (but backup for my argument above) in the current 2004 live chat: “we're not sure where they (replacement for damaged episodes) come from, we just get the error logs once the digitizing session is over”.

So it’s not done live, which was obvious and didn’t make much sense to begin with.
It really is 100% confirmed now... "Part 3" just ended, but not before looping back to the "STARTING SOON" caption, and the start of Eviction #5. 😄

Feels like these rewatches kind of sum up the shows history itself - started with them just sticking everything online and seeing what happens then with each passing series they become more controlling of the content and make it more of an effort to watch.

This is a bit of a wild guess but would the reason be why the higher ups came down on the social team be because if all episodes were uploaded in one night, it would spam YouTube subscribers on their subscription feed? Cause while I don't personally mind Big Brother "spamming" the episodes as I do take an interest in them, I do know that when other channels do it especially channels I haven't engaged with in a while, I tend to unsub from it if there are more than 5 uploads a day from said channel. Anyway, just a theory!

As opposed to them mass uploading hundreds of audition shorts every second day? 🤪

Aren't the audition shorts unpublished from the subscription feed? Cause they don't come up in my sub feed. I seem to recall when uploading a video to YT there is an option to not publish it to the feed when uploading, but it's still public/searchable/can be put in a playlist.

Would have been more structured to do a week of episodes each day - stream them at night then upload the next day. Would take about a fortnight per series.
It would make the streams more manageable to watch, rather than 12-hour blocks. Arguably, it would also make individual episodes easier to locate within the streams.

I noticed they’ve quietly started uploading two episodes a day now, instead of only one. Approx 12pm and 7pm EST respectively.

Guessing they won't bother with the rest till after the series then.
They’re possibly trying to sustain engagement leading into the new series so that content from the 2025 series is more likely to show up in the YouTube algorithm while it’s airing. The YouTube algorithm has started to discourage pump & dumping content recently.

Somebody uploaded two extras from the 2003 Uncut/Unseen/Unreel DVD.

"The Day We Big Brother'd Big Brother", featuring a day in the life of Peter Abott

And a multi-angle look behind the scenes of Carlo's eviction
I just watched the Carlo eviction from the DVD with just the control room. Does anyone know why the director (Simon Francis) calls Peter Abbott "Simmo" (he also calls him voice lol)?

Simmo I’m not sure. “Voice” bc Peter was the Big Brother voice of god.

I got the Voice one lol. Maybe it's just an in-joke between them because logically you call Simon (the live director) Simmo.
I should also point out that Simon is the 'Big Brother' that Gretel is talking to (4:59 in the video). It seems that both evictees were listed on the envelope, so Gretel had to ask which house they were evicting from first.

Also, Jamie just awkwardly sitting there on the couch not knowing what do as the show continues on like he doesn't exist lol.
