Big Brother 2003 on official YouTube channel (Live streamed Aug 15-17 + 22-24)

They got through the last part of the season very quickly then - might as well have done it over one weekend, perhaps beginning a day earlier so it still ended on Sunday.
They did a poll earlier to re-assess if and how they split the future seasons. The consensus was to do a Friday-Sunday marathon, with some suggesting to pause overnight/early mornings.

The current stream peaked at just shy of 500 viewers at one point.

I saw it in the 500s a few times when I looked. Don't know whether it made it into the 600s though.

I wonder if they reason they said they won't t be uploading season 3 for a while was because they are trying to find a better copy of the finale.

I hope so! But there has to be someone, surely the housemates got a copy of the finale?

That was so unfortunate to have the finale damaged. Definitely stressful for them and I wanted to see that winner’s walk in HD not the YouTube one I’ve seen before.

Reggie and Chrissie must be the best finalists in BB history? Two total icons!

Someone was saying in the chat that Chrissie was rude to their relative when approached. I will treat that as hear say with the reminder that everyone has off days because you can’t fake the warmth she showed throughout the season.

Gretel was so real for that reaction when reading the card and when she went into the house to greet Reggie.

Wouldn't surprise me if the truth was that the relative was rude or something from the very start of the interaction and set the tone.
Yes I tend to think this with many of these stories, plus possibly they approached her without any consideration for Chrissie’s time and she was doing something else or she was with her kids or something. I still don’t imagine she was rude but context is always helpful especially when it’s someone who is clearly a warm and friendly person.

Not sure when this reunion happened, but Reggie posted thisView attachment 65840
It happened in 2023 for their 20th anniversary. Peter Abbott and a bunch of producers and staff attended too. She uploaded a great video to her Instagram from this day. I believe this photo came from Jamie’s Instagram post from 2023, which also has a lot of great pics.

The 2004 cast did the same last year, which was also attended by Mike Goldman - Paul posted some brilliant videos on his TikTok at the time.

I wonder if this is why they're not uploading the episodes straight away? Because they knew they didn't have a proper finale to upload... and the irony of pulling people's rips from YouTube and Dailymotion, and then uploading the same rips to their YouTube channel, would've just been too much. 😂

I hope Big Brother donated to @BigKevin for bailing them out 👀

I hope the BB04 tapes fare better... if I don't get to see Gretel step out of an ACTUAL HOLOGRAM in GLORIOUS 1080p, I am going to riot.

Apparently rumour is 2004 onward is already in a digital format, so I imagine things might fare better from here on out.

I still think from 2005 is where it’ll get interesting. How much of the seasons they decide to stream will be the big question. They’re just so, so long from there on out.

Weirdly, the BB04 promos promise "New Technology" but don't elaborate on what that means. 😅 I was hoping it meant a switch to digital. The "tapey" look was awful in BB03... I don't know how they managed it, but I swear most of it looked worse than the first two seasons. Anything shot in the kitchen, in particular, seemed to never not be strobing.

The FNL episodes certainly always felt like they were about 10 hours long. 😭 And then recapped in the next Daily Show anyway. I can see the chat being pretty split between people who were 9 in 2005 and have happy memories of FNL... and everyone else.

I am fine to never see FNL again and I have typically skipped it on a rewatch, but I understand there is so much nostalgia for others that leaving it out altogether will not be well received. I do wonder if those same people will rewatch and see it’s really not that compelling but that could be true of the entire series so maybe not with nostalgia. But if they include FNL and also stop the stream overnight then how many weekends will this take I wonder.

With the benefits the winner gets from winning Friday Night Live the pretty much have to include it for storylines to make sense. I doubt they will skip it.
