Big Brother 2003 on official YouTube channel (Live streamed Aug 15-17 + 22-24)

"Australian Pie” did see the light of the day. It was released on DVD in the United States under the name “Going Down Under”. The main character was played by Ed Kavalee who was relatively unknown at the time. And other Big Brother alumni: Aphrodite and Trevor from BB04 also appear. I can’t quite remember if other BB housemates make a cameo, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there were. The movie is probably on YouTube if you are curious to watch it.

the reviews on there say it all!

What happened with the voting? I've never heard of that before?
Right at the start of the finale, they showed the graph of where the voting sat. Then they put faces/names on the percentages.

It caused such a massive influx of votes that things melted, they couldn't keep up and the finale ended up running over an hour longer than planned because they legitimately couldn't work out who the winner was. Poor Gretel was up on the stage treading water for close to an hour, then they eventually pulled both finalists out of the house and ran both versions of the end of the finale they had planned (interview/showing video packages etc). And by the time they finally had the result, they announced it and then the show pretty much ended immediately.

Then it ended up being Gretel's last show and she went out on a massive low. :(

Ah well there you go, I honestly wondered if it was even real! Well perhaps that’s the extent of her career but it does sound like she wanted to get some work, for a bit at least.

Reggie being in the chat was cool and no doubt a highlight for many, I did see it go to a weird place with someone asking her about the Port Arthur massacre… Reggie is too pure for the internet.

It should be illegal to make a finale this bad.

I was there that night and lordy it was long, Gretel was fantastic, but after that ordeal and the rubber chicken to the head, definitely not a great send off.

What I did not like in the series is BB not pulling up Ben for bullying but rather treating him nicely, while one subject to his bullying - Belinda - being punished for being severely provoked and overreacting. So the victim got blamed. I'm pretty sure that without Ben in the house Belinda would probably have stayed on. Whatever else is going on in the BB house, it needs to be a safe place. It wasn't with Ben. I suspect the reason he had to leave the police force is because he probably tried to bully suspects, maybe some of them innocent, into a confession. I base this on his accusatory behaviour. One less corrupt cop can only be good for law enforcement.

Reggie mentioned in the live stream that Ben was purposely acting in a way he thought would get him voted out because he wanted to leave but didn't want to quit. She was actually quite complimentary about him.

Ooh I forgot Belinda was the first one to leave on her own accord. I googled apparently it was because her sister was apart of a gay murder?! Is that true.

Oh, I forgot to post these: These were the best quality opening titles I managed to catch during the first part of the marathon. Very much assuming I'm not the only nerd who goes here. 😁

"Back Yard" variant: https://www.mediafire.com/file/u30dtp4irv2y3se/BB03-Back-Yard.mov/file

"Stage/Audience" variant: https://www.mediafire.com/file/xrhln3wkmvls70k/BB03-Stage-Audience.mov/file

Kinda cobbled them together from various episodes to get the most detail / clean theme tune / logo without a subtitle / correct SFX.

I will tune in tomorrow predominantly because bbau have created fomo by saying they aren’t uploading the episodes at this stage, however my memory is that nothing much happens between now and the finale. This combined with starting halfway through instead of at a launch is just a bit underwhelming. But I’ll still watch!

I do want to see the HD "winner's walk", actually, if I can figure out the timings! And especially if it's my only chance. 🥲

ETA: But yeah, that's about it.

Yes I would agree that this is the only real part to watch. Hopefully someone can calculate the ending time and also that it’s at a reasonable time.

Apparently they are also playing “Reggie Rules” afterwards as well which I never saw and possibly am not interested in.

Isn't that a spoiler (given in the YT stream chat they insist on no spoilers)?

Lol yes a tad hypocritical perhaps. I appreciated their request even if ridiculous after so long, but yes didn’t seem to apply to anything revealing the winner or by Reggie herself or in fact even by BB.
