The hope is that the BB house is filled with regular people and not trained/practiced performers....after all, don't we want this to be as much a true 'social experiment' as possible ? I mean, if the house is filled with actors all of whom play a role that is vastly different to their 'real self' like what Ben is doing, then it no longer becomes a social experiment, it becomes a competition to see which actor can maintain their act the longest....and that isn't really interesting.
Every housemate will no doubt 'act' to a degree, some more some less, and that is fine by me...what I don't like however is when a housemates "BB persona' is so vastly different to who they really are on the outside....in that case, I consider the housemate to be a FRAUD or a FAKE....and I consider Ben to be a FAKE.

I may be wrong,but it seems that the reaction of most Ben fans is either
1. a little comedy a few years back doesn't mean he's an entertainer- this is the real Ben - I still like him
2. so much has happened to poor Benny in the last few years that he's become this person - I still like him
3. who cares if it's an act? he's adorable (????) & entertaining - I still like him
I guess I'm surprised people don't feel at all duped.

I fit into the number 3 category...
I started the other thread questioning his character, i felt something was odd right from the start but that didn't stop him from growing on me
I don't believe someone can keep up a complete act for so long, i think he most likely exaggerates parts of his personality but that would make him no different to the majority of housemates over the years....and have you heard the way Tim talks while in the diary room? He's playing a part more than anyone, but I'm warming to him too. I guess if they can make me laugh regardless of the how or why then i prefer that to the boring 'real' people

Tim isn't really like this in real life, yet I see nobody digging for pics or goss.
As far as I'm concerned, Ben can do whatever he likes to win because at least his character isn't mean, nasty or spiteful, I'd prefer a good natured person to win this year.

Um, all he said was that Madaline understood what he was talking about when he made references to Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

You know, if this was all an act, and he's managed to keep it up for the entire two-months-and-counting, I would regard it as incredible and deserving of a BB win! It would actually be hilarious if at the finale he "came out" as someone completely different to who he portrayed in the house. He'd be the most talked about BB winner possibly worldwide.
As for doing stand-up, performing, etc, many many many performers are introverts. Performing is a safe way to express yourself while "being someone else", so to speak.

Last night when tim voted for maddie to stay, he made his intentions quite clear as to why (because boog would be a distraction for him in the game) He announced this to his fellow housemates and to the Australian public!!!

Yeah this is a constant theme with him. He always does shift things onto him. Make them about him. With his 'sympathy' act, he then has the people that the actual issue is about comforting him.
Yep. He's so immature. Let's for a minute say that he's doing this unintentionally, he's still being very self-centred.
In any situation, he'll find a way to turn the attention to him. Whether it's through putting in a punchline, doing something silly that only he would do, feeling the need to repeatedly apologise, turning something small and over thinking it...
He's emotionally-hijacking situations! Haha...

Yes Tim is upfront about the game, which is why I get annoyed with the two Ed fans on twitter claiming Tim is evil while Ed is a saint. Ed is far more sly and manipulative than Tim. Ed puts Jade up and nominated her, but it's an outrage that Tim voted Boog to go. Ed's going to "stand up for what's right in the house". Oh please.
I like Ben, but I'm Tim for the win all the way, too!
