This feels horribly exploitative to say, but putting withdrawing nicotine addicts on reality TV really has produced some of my favourite schadenfreude moments
 
It is nice to not be looking at another refresh of the Elstree house.

I didn’t really know what to expect anymore, but hearing that music, seeing the garden, and AJ and Will walking out at the NTAs while the theme played has definitely got me more excited than I’ve been of late.

The limited live feed, six week run, and autumn premiere are not ideal but not enough to spoil the series.

That said I am tempering my expectations a bit as I do think all three of the above issues will need to be addressed.

As for the remainder of the series I do have to keep going back to the 2018 final stretch of series on Channel 5. They weren’t ratings successes and far from perfect series but they did feel like a return to form for the show. I have faith that ITV can at very least deliver a show to that caliber.
 
Sad about the six week run because my favourite part of BBUK/BBAU is how long they cast. Longer = you get to know the HMs more, get to break down their exterior personality, more drama as friendships eventually crumble and the stakes just feel higher.

But a lot of reality shows shoot for just like 3 weeks nowadays (granted they’re prerecorded) so I’m not too guttered as this is better than nothing.
 
So a new advert has been posted online (going out on tv as of today I assume) and while Marcus is included, at least he isn’t booming and shouting - hopefully a sign of a more stripped back narration style. Anything else will be unbearable for me.
 
God, that trailer is awful. Absolutely dire - even BBAU haven't done one that bad. And that's even before Marcus speaks up.
 
I’ve only seen the one where they sing the t theme tune but I quite like it - with 4 weeks to go it’s a nice introduction to the show, but I’m hoping we get a ‘main trailer’ alongside these.

To be honest, after the C5 Brian Dowling era adverts, I’ll take anything! 😂

I don’t mind it either aside from Marcus.

Also the Emma era adverts weren’t great either. Far too much reliance on theming and not enough on actual substance. HM’s as well shouldn’t really be expecting things prior to going in.
