Ok I watched the Finale the other night and finished skimming through the rest of the Evictee interviews I hadn't caught up on as well.
The vault was interesting, Was it ever fully explained if Segun had placed any cash with Baked Potato, that rather than lose it completely, She would have walked away with it? The bit where they had Marcello write the fan letters was a fun twist as well as the coins for half/fulll message from home.
What a bombshell with Hanah's friends, but at the same time they did kindof beat it like a dead horse with Segun a little bit by the Final L & L lol.
Good season, some of the conflict this series it seemed to centre around some of them overanalysing/having misperceptions of others especially having Ali being a psychologist by profession as well as flying the flag for neurodiversity. Some of the things like for example Daze vs Nathan about him coming across to her as 'vicious', Hanah bringing up unconscious bias and trying to explain how it applied to the house.
Marcello did at first respect Ali's wishes by stopping his sex chat, but then couldnt let it go and kept trying to argue the high ground with her, and Dean sticking to what he said in the task and bluntly saying to Marcello he hates ('toxic'?) masculinity, which could also maybe be seen by some as slight 'bromophobia' in a way if something like that was said in the opposite direction iykwim? LOL. But I think He meant the toxic type of masculinity.
I also saw the 'PH comment' replayed during Marcello's best bits and I admit I was kinda struggling to see how that was an example of a misogynistic/chauvinistic type of comment, IIRC it was more a jab at veganism, unless it has some sexual double meaning like checking somethings PH levels means sticking a dipstick in usually so it could perhaps also be taken as 'woman you're being hysterical, maybe you just need a good lay' type of way towards Sarah?
But at the same time Dean did also say that some of the other things that put him off Marcello again after initially being like 'he's actually not that bad' included some things that could have come across homophobic, so maybe there were some questionable bits that didnt make the show/weren't shown in the mix as well.
I was also a bit to and fro with Hanah, Ali, and Khaled at times, where I thought some scenes I can see where each is coming from, but in others I thought maybe theyre reading into things a bit much or getting the off inference from the other and its also amplified by the environment of the house kinda thing. Even Ali mentioned it in her winner interview discussing her reassessment of Khaled, how Emma told her she kindof latched on to her first impressions and it took a lot to shake them sortof thing.
Also agreed with one of AJ & Will's assessments of Emma, she managed to keep onside with the house and never really got herself into any particular stoush with anyone that needed some time to resolve. She came close in stuff like moderating the Martha/Hanah argument and when Izaaz was shitstirring about the Bagel, but That being said though she wasn't under the radar as such and was assertive about inserting herself into the house storylines IYKWIM.
Anyways, again great season and will be interesting to see any updates when CBB rolls around and also the next regular series next year.
