BBAU 2025 outdoor live show set discussion

Interesting thoughts. Tho I do wonder where else a bigger standing room stage would be.

Also noticed the lack of infrastructure for camera and remote control of the house. Unless the control room is on the north end of the exhibition centre.
This former parking lot where it had been speculated the house would be build before they confirmed it was in the Exhibition Centre? From what I gather there may actually be a decent loop created using the Fan Pit area as the FOTH and then being taken to the Stage Zone.

Giving me more hope that this is the Fan Pit and not the Stage Zone.
If this is the case, I’m speculating it’s this building on the left.

The description appears to fit to a tee - “standing area outside stage zone […] located between the stage zone and the Big Brother House […] watch the show live on big screens and full show audio” - so I think I can be convinced what we’re seeing could very well be the Fan Pit.

Not to mention, that stage looks way too small to be the interview area as well.

What do we think… Could the Stage be something like this? Built in the former parking lot between Beetie Rd and the Exhibition Centre? Obviously a smaller scale than this.

I still think it could be the building directly to the left of the eye stage. There’s even an entry that’s finished, and positioned at just the right angle to potentially appear on-screen (picture an audience in this space too):

"The Big Brother live show is a high-energy, outdoor event filmed at Dreamworld. Both ticket types - Live Stage and Fan Pit - are standing-only experiences with no seating available. Filming takes place outside, so please be prepared for changing weather conditions."

Presumably it's not going to be a "building" at all? 🤔

Oh good eye. I didn’t see that elephant door.

What used to be in that building before? That whole area looked relatively closed off.

Not much of a “building” there for anything if you ask me.

If there is a doorway there it’s leading here. Which is a significantly larger area for the stage.

Like, I don’t know what else people were expecting - perhaps I lowered my expectations (for a change, haha) but this is almost exactly what I imagined they’d produce. And it actually looks pretty decent. You can’t base a full opinion from a distant drone shot in the middle of the day, especially when it’s clear that area is made for a night set-up with full lighting, etc.

I mean, the whole set is literally in the middle of Dreamworld. Theoretically it has to be temporary enough and able to be pulled down and re-built (if necessary) between seasons.

Plus, I’m now doubting that’s the main stage. All signs are pointing to it being the Fan Pit - an entry/exit point for the HMs (i.e. the house entrance archways are even constructed within the eye), with the main event and eviction interviews staged elsewhere. It’s no different to BBUK. Even our main stage for 2025 (wherever it is) was always going to be smaller than the auditorium from 2001 regardless.

🤷‍♂️

Sorry but if that is going to be the permanent outdoor stage setup, it’s awful. It looks cheap and the idea of this “fake teleportation” between the stage and the house - hate that.
The original 10 era was pretty well known for pulling back the curtain and “fake transportation” usually requires some sort of break or a show that’s pre-recorded. For what it’s worth the two minutes it’s going to take to walk from the front door to the portal might as well be shown.

As for that area being the stage I’m standing firm that it isn’t. While I expect changes that area is just WAY too small. OG BB live shows were known for a larger than life atmosphere and there’s honestly no way anyone in their right mind could believe they could try and emulate that kind of atmosphere in that space. It’s either the Fan Pit or some sort of VIP/Press area.

This is the main reason why I hate it. I hope it’s true that it’s just the fan zone, because the space is tiny and on screen it’ll look small and cheap with a lack of a vibe. It’s basically 3 walls with a screen on the side… atleast BBUK has more style, curves and design to it than that.
I’ll remain optimistic there is a main set elsewhere but to me all seems very risky to have this as your only live show stage for the season if it is the case.

Side note the backyard is looking good

Will be interesting to see what it looks like on TV. I don’t hate it. If the show is a success, maybe they can build on something bigger and/or permanent. The auditorium and stage looked very different in 2001 to what it became. As long as they have an eviction couch for the interviews, I will be happy. Do not let them have to stand or sit on stools like the 2012 series. That was a shocker. 😤

Also, I'll note it crossed my mind that the buildings could've been flipped. The live show in the exhibition centre and the house built/expanded upon in the area that's currently being flagged as the live set. But I'm not a builder.
