BBAU 2025 house at Dreamworld Exhibition Centre

If there’s a shortage of soundstages in Australia why are Dreamworld not looking at building an actual stage instead of using the exhibition centre? I mean even on a semi permanent basis they have the room and the cost associated with it would be more than covered by the increased visibility they’re getting through these onsite productions.

I would assume most people who would visit the park would do the tour, even if you didn't watch the show. Maybe not pay for the extra VIP experience, but why wouldn't you have a look?
Not everyone who likes scary rides also likes Big Brother, and learning how expensive VIP actually is no wonder why there is little interest in it.

Might try and write down some more detailed thoughts later from the perspective of someone interested in the technical aspects of the house if anyone else is interested but generally after having 45 minutes of free roam my main thoughts are:

- House is much smaller than you’d expect.
- Lack of ceilings is so much more distracting than I thought it would be. It truly does feel like a set. I had been more positive about this house but now I feel like there’d just be zero immersion.
- Obviously very cheap, I’d believe rumours the budget was very limited and corners had to be cut for time as well.
- The Big Brother voice occasionally plays during the VIP tour. The speakers are mounted to actual roof of the exhibition centre so it feels like the sound is playing into the entire building rather than just individual rooms, it’s terrible IMO.

These are a few of the photos I took which I find most interesting. Hopefully the ultra-wide shots help give some context as to how open it feels. Also managed to get a few behind the scenes against the glass. Spot the inexplicably creepy sketch in one of them. No idea why it might be there.

I make my way to the Gold Coast tomorrow. I'm more excited for a break from work after the christmas period, but I'm looking forward to being disappointed with this waste of money 🤣
Me and my girlfriend are heading up Friday, we’re in two minds about a squeezing in a visit before the house closes. Maybe if the two park pass with Whitewater World is still a thing / worth it.

Oh cool! We miss each other by a day, I’m on the flight right now waiting to takeoff. I go to dreamworld tomorrow and then go home Thursday. I considered going to white water world as well. I need a fucking longer holiday 😂😭

Great pics, perfect for BBBA to dissect. Looks like the Hisense twins (and friend/s) returned to their flock? Was there anything else like that removed (dishwasher etc?). Aside from the $200 dining chairs.

Could tell by previous pics that the lack of ceiling was bad, but you really appreciate the full awfulness of it in your wide angle shot. Thanks for posting.

Have any of the 2025 HM’s spoke about what it was like in the house? I can imagine the lack of a ceiling ruining any sense of immersion and they weren’t in there long enough to truly adapt.

All I can recall is that on the live stream some were talking about it not being what they expected. They expected to be in an actual house.

With the way production didn’t seem to care about maintaining any degree of isolation in this last series I’m shocked they didn’t have them set up in an Airbnb close to the park.

Have an awesome time!

And thanks for sharing those pictures @BB101 - looks really underwhelming, especially that floating toilet/shower block. The **magic** of tv, I guess
