BBAU 2025 house at Dreamworld Exhibition Centre

Had the show ever had the housemates go out into the theme park as a task/twist/reward?

It's the sort of thing we'd usually be against but as they can communicate with people on tgat ride next to the house they could turn it into a task where half the HMs go on the ride and have to communicate something to those left in the backyard.

In the Noble days I recall the FNG winner occasionally getting to go out with another housemate as some form of reward. Jamie and Chris going to a surf pool comes to mind.

Also recall another pair going to watch some animals in Dreamworld.

There was also Zach and Travis's helicopter ride in 2007. They were taken to a helipad, presumably within Dreamworld, where ninjas were waiting to help them board. They took a flight around the Gold Coast, seeing the sights from the helicopter. The helicopter then took a low pass over the Big Brother house so they could sit with the door open and wave to Aleisha.

All of these examples at least remembered to limit the HMs' exposure to third parties. Jamie & Chris's trip to White Water World happened late at night, and there didn't seem to be anyone there other than the ninja demonstrating the ride and Big Brother's voice over the speakers. Gaelan & Krystal's visit to Tiger Island had an animal handler there, but it seemed like they were on strict instructions not to ask or talk about the outside world.

If they [unfortunately] use the exhibition centre again next year I think the entrance should either be on the north end or by the exit at the gift shop and they should expand the garden. And also install a ceiling.

Could they use the old auditorium site for the house/ where the live OG shows used to be, or does Dreamworld no longer own that land? My idea is that you have the house there which has a much larger footprint and is more isolated, while having the live shows undercover at the Exhibition Centre (HMs would just be driven through the park to/from the exhibition centre, like in the OG series where they were driven from to/from the auditorium to the house.

One thing is for certain, for a more full proper series, they need to get the house location away from the more public areas of the Dreamworld.

The auditorium site is slated for a ride development,

The theory is that investing in a purpose built structure is too costly these days, especially since it’s unlikely we’ll get another 8+ seasons unless production gets their act together. Even then it’s unlikely.

There is a former car park that’s now a dirt lot to the south of the exhibition centre that would make a great spot for a house which would then make the exhibition centre available for live shows with a proper set.

The old amphitheater spot has been earmarked for a new ride, but it’s yet to materialise.

I’ll add: also in theory I wouldn’t imagine it’s expensive to create a temporary shed and garden with utilities run to outfit a big brother house. But looking at the budget and lack of effort that went into the exhibition centre build out - the money isn’t there.

The cost of a purpose built structure would be co-funded by Ten and Dreamworld (who would utilise it as an attraction outside of production), and the costs can be depreciated over its useful life. There's benefit in making the investment if it's going to get mileage.

I'm guessing that's why we're getting this temp-setup micro season - Ten are using it as a feasibility study (partly thanks to Seven burning the format and ratings into the ground).
