For the first show they should have Gretel host up till the first ad break then hand it over to Mel, so we can hear "Please welcome your host Gretel Killeen" one last time.

Also manifesting this too! I actually have high hopes for this next season. Hope I'm right. I'll be very sad if it doesn't take off.
 
I'd be stoked if she did some sort of weekly catch up show, even if it was half an hour, where she can have a quick one on one with the latest evictee, and review the week that was. Or perhaps Adults Only, but a more mature version of that show that doesn't have any nudity, just swear words lol and more in-depth conversations with the housemates.
 
Gretel is done with Big Brother. She has been for years and that is OK. At best, she will make a cameo in the new season. I don't think she is ever going to be involved again.
 
For clarity, a cameo is quite literally all I'm referring to.

She did The Masked Singer and The Amazing Race for considerable financial fees, both on Ten, and they continuously mention Big Brother when referring to her on the latter. If the revival is in good hands (aka, the original teams are involved) I honestly don't think a cameo is out of the question.
 
@the Theorist I am sorry if I am crossing across as dismissive. I just think Gretel has moved on, but yeah, I agree with you. I wouldn't rule out a surprise cameo, but for Gretel to be involved in full capacity with BB again, I just can't see it happening.
 
Well, I’m also convinced we’re getting a retrospective special, with “best of” highlights and interviews from ex HMs. Perhaps that’s what Gretel would feel comfortable featuring in.

So who’s the one really setting themselves up for disappointment here? 😂

A retrospective special would be incredible. You’ve put it out in the universe. Hopefully said universe picks it up! 😉

Plus we need a completely new host to give this show the best chance of success so bye bye Gretel, Kyle, Jackie-O, and Sonia, and hello Mel!
 
As cool as it would be to see Gretel appear in some form I am choosing to accept that she has long moved on a long long time ago and even a cameo is very unlikely.

Don't get it twisted tho, I am praying for a Gretel cameo too. A pre season special would be perfect and I am expecting something like that to happen. Amazing race is confirmed to be 15 episodes, which means it will seemingly end before October ends. If the 2 ep schedule continues once TBYG begins airing on Tuesdays then there will be a one week gap between TAR and the first week of November (I am betting on a Nov 2nd launch date). Maybe there will be some sort of special(s) in that bridge week?
