AI must've been used to give them a glow up.
I must be in the minority as not really liking them. Specifically it was the ends of each mirror that didn't sit right with me
. I did like all the little separate mirrors that 2003 used though.

Well its both. But the argument against automated cameras in corridors is -- why do that when you have to create corridor space just to do that?

I personally think the camera runs and one-way mirrors are part of the Big Brother aesthetic. I also liked the 7 era angled mirrors with lights underneath, it's a clever way to reduce the chance that a housemate can see the other side with the camera lens or any lights that may be emitting from the camera or viewfinder. I reckon you can use the angled mirrors and a bright LED screen underneath to create a unique aesthetic especially for event nights eg. information display during nominations/evictions. Whatever shape they take, I'm in favour of keeping the camera runs and one-way mirrors. It's almost a Big Brother trademark at this point.

They look like they've been digitialy revitalised, fitting considering what they're doing with the old episodes. They're really going all in to make the original run relevant. And IMO these are all good things they're doing.

This is what happens when you invest in the format and do it with the fans in mind.
Iām lagging a bit behind atm as Iāve been exhausted lately but otherwise I havenāt been as invested in BBUS as I have in the last two season in a VERY long time.
Another perfect example of my thesis that if you build a series around the fans that will watch regardless the rest WILL fall in to place.

Did anyone get an email about casting info? I applied in the early years got through lots of rounds for multiple years. In my late 40s now too old now but was wondering if others received the same?

If the crowd we had for the rewatch stream is any indication itās the millennial generation thatās going to be watching this new series. I think it would be interesting to have an āolderā skewing castā¦ I mean letās see what a group that would have been the previous key demographic mixed with some younger peopleā¦ Millennials vs Gen Z social experiment kind of thing. I mean youāre not a millennial but I mean letās see how the previous BB generation is doing now.

I actually loved seeing original The Real World cast reunion series. 30 years later they were still engaging. If the original BB series had broad appeal thatās 100% something that needs to be at the heart of this series. Iād also say that in 2025 broad appeal has to be much broader. If the cast is meant to signify a cross section of Australian society then a range of ages is necessary.

What's your background and personality type? It's never too late, yes, but it seems like they tend to look for "unique" and diverse sort of people I would assume. If you're just another regular person from the suburbs or the farm even, they'd overlook you.
If they've retained your email address from 20 odd years ago that feels very questionable from a data protection point of view.
Getting casting right will be so critical - will be more about personality than age but feels they certainly need to go older than they often did in the 10 era as people over 30 do exist and OG fans will want to feel represented, but also part of the appeal of the show is a relatively young cast and I'm not sure that changes for the viewer as they get older. The important thing is not to throw in a house full of 20 somethigns then a coupe of 40-50 somethings - you need a handful of over 30s in there bridging the gap.
