BBAU 2025: Casting open, return to Dreamworld Confirmed

Damn I didn’t mind the seven houses haha, they visually were appealing in my opinion. Functionally a pain but on tv they looked pretty good. Obviously not anywhere near the original house but they worked for the budget
I really liked the 2020 house but it might just be me lol. Not too big for the others

I do hope they take some inspiration from BBUK for house design. And the stage being directly outside. May be an option considering the stage got demolished

If they did use the DEC, they would need a location for all the production crew.. I realise they could bring in production trucks and stuff, would it be the best solution (maybe) could they build editing bays onto the side of the house (not sure)
Nowadays some production could be remote if not on site at Dreamworld. BBUK in the C5 era basically had a production village of portacabins.

The press release says it's supporting 95 jobs which is unsurprisingly down on the numbers of 20 years ago which you'd expect with technology advancements (and cost cutting).

Wonder if they're going to go down the Dutch 2021 revival and the new purpose built house be smaller in scale to what we're use to. This is what they built in a carpark of the national football stadium just outside of Amsterdam. But if they go down a BBUK revival sized house that's some real dollars spent on this especially cause I'd imagine it would be cheaper to retrofit an existing frame like ITV have been doing. Whilst the Seven era Big Brother was horrid the one thing I believe they got semi-right was the house, the size of the Shed House in Manly was satisfactory.

You'd never know it was "small" from the interior. That's been one of my favourite new-era houses and I just assumed it was on a sound stage. They just use remote cameras so ditching camera runs saves quite a bit of space. Worth remembering too the original model for BB was basically to be in flat pack houses that could be assembled pretty quickly.

Am a bit concerned the house might be closer to the theme park itself and therefore impacted more by noise, especially as presumably Dreamworld is busier at that point of the year.

This part of the TV tonight article has me wondering if Big Brother really is going to run though into summer;

Amelia Fisk, Director of Content, Endemol Shine Australia said: “Big Brother revolutionised a reality TV movement over 24 years ago, creating some of the most memorable moments that have had a huge impact on the Australian public. We’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing the OG Big Brother back to 10 and to its home at Dreamworld in Queensland. The return of Big Brother is a testament to the power of this iconic super brand. Get ready for a summer of incredible human drama and unforgettable moments.

so much more natural than Sonia, not that that is difficult.
Sonia was fucking useless, even moreso than Julie Chen in the US.

One of my favourite examples of how reliant she is on the autocue is this one below when it failed right at the start of the show and she couldn't even ad-lib here which would have been extremely easy to do. She had to keep looking at her cards which acted as her backup (and I suspect she still got it wrong since what she said seems... off).

At least she didn't do a Sonia and enthusiastically read out instructions on the autocue during the first eviction of 2014, as seen below when she happily reads out "To the audience, how will Gemma react..." 😂

Yes I mentioned that earlier. Gave me a bit of hope.
It did for me as well. You can't really call it a "summer" if its ending in the first week of December, and TBH I can kind of get it since TEN does really poor during christmas period. It will be interesting to see the posibility of the housemates being in the house over the holiday period too. If the show was to (lets guess here) Launch either Sunday November 2nd or Monday November 3rd then it could theoretically have a 8-10 week run. Very unlikely tho IMO but I still want to hold onto some delusional hope.

Although is it really delusional to think so at this stage? I know the leaked auditions page stated 4-5 weeks but they genuinely shouldn't get away with promising a summer of fun (that sounded so BBUS coded in my head lol) without it actually going into proper summer. At this point I'd even be happy with it going into the last week of December for just 6 weeks.

I saw a comment earlier that they initially planned 80 days but due to the issues with the ch 7 contract its been scaled back. Guess we wait and see? If it’s starting early November it’ll probably run until mid to late December.

TBH I see it starting first week of November and ending mid December just before Christmas

Honestly I'd much prefer that to the stupid "Christmas in July" crap they used to do with foam in the yard etc. So juvenile and dumb.

Hopefully someone starting the application process can report back with the date range because surely it will be stated in there.

If they end up doing a Friday night live (if not this season then maybe the next), I hope the challenge makers of I'm a celeb make the challenges for Fnl. Would make for some good laughs

Forgot her own name and the name of the show. And I thought she'd got better in recent years too.
