The Kitchen & Dining is something that hasn't been done in Australia.
They are split level. The kitchen going up, and the dining room going down (with the bathroom on the same level) by half the height of an ordinary wall.
This allows for a camera run to be below the bench, and also gives the housemates the ability to look down on the dining room if they are in the kitchen.

The water feature has a hidden camera in it that isn't visible to the housemates, giving a different view of the housemates to the viewers.

The maze outside is covered at first but is revealed when the two bedrooms are joined as one. Off that maze is a new version of the Chill Out Room that we saw in BB07. This Chill Out Room Sits on top of the compounds camera run so it’s almost like a cubby house that was done in 2014.

The exit for the housemates when they are evicted is back and on the side of the compound. This time having a switchable glass window that the housemates left in the house can see the housemate leaving the compound.

Please ignore the red dotted lines going through half of the houseplan, that is just an original indicator of where the actual interior shed starts.

Another thing, the little room on the bedroom once its joined (Also labelled in the split stage as CWC) is a central Water Cubical. :)

Interesting design. Do you remember why you'd initially kept the maze closed off and the bedrooms separate?

Idea of the two bedrooms was to create the "two groups / alliances" then the join was to force them all to share the same space. (mind you I think I made these about 15 years ago haha)

The unveiling of the maze was more again ( capped as to 2-3 people able to be in the cubbyhouse) to create a small space where separate convos can happen away from the wider group. Doing it mid way would allow more reason for there to be conflict and alliances again.

Nowhere near as detailed as the others, but:

I always thought it'd be a fun gimmick to have four differently-themed Diary Rooms on a round, rotating platform, so you'd never know "which" Diary Room you were being called to. One or more could even be contextual, i.e. redesigned on the fly.

You could even use it as a way to spirit someone away to a secret room without anyone knowing. Just call them to the DR, then rotate it to "reveal" the secret corridor.

That's giving me flashbacks to the "revolve" in BB08 - probably the worst bit of design ever in BBAU history!

Could be fun here though - always like the idea of a chill corner somewhere in the house or corner which one day will take a housemate by surprise and rotate around and relocate them somewhere else.

I actually really love this idea. Especially the housemate getting "kidnapped" essentially and then the other housemates wondering where they are and BB just playing plain dumb to it.
 
Forgot to share this. I was bored, messing with the BB04 titles and the different blending modes in DaVinci... accidentally made some moody, dark blue titles that would've been great for UpLate. 😄


There's a bit of "ghosting" where the two sets of titles didn't quite sync up... Honestly, these titles are a nightmare for that. I remember having to battle with it when I did the "rainbow" titles. In this case, I couldn't be fucked to fix it.
 
Over the last little bit I put together a retrospective BB theme tune mix, and with last night's 2008 stream marathon delayed until this morning I decided to create a montage video with snippets of the opening titles and some iconic moments to go along with my theme mix:

The idea is to play this as a one-off to open the 2025 launch show. What's missing is some kind of a segue at the end to tie back to the new series - e.g. BB welcoming Australia back to the BB house, crowd cheering (if the crowd is large enough!), etc

Yes, in its current form there are past ch10 series missing e.g. 2002, 2005 & 2006. Also no winner announcements at all (but maybe that is best reserved for a separate launch package before new housemates are introduced?). Primarily my video is to showcase the theme tune mix I created. Also for 2008 I carried over the 2003-2007 synth melody because it didn't flow too well with such a sudden change from synth to electric guitar.

We presume the branding means BB(on)10, but they really failed with this design. Haaaate it!

Curse this forum for its good ideas, I just had to give this a (very rough) go 😂🥵. The audio is mostly my own attempt at merging the 2003 melody with 2001 underscore & slower tempo (with bits and pieces of the promo theme worked in). And of course the eye is the 'OG' 2025 one 🤩 (not the purpley oval CH9 & 7 one).

Ohh I like that, and I really like the 2025 logo background with the OG graphics 👌 I've never been able to find the synth (if that's the right term) they used for the OG theme.

The more I watch this the more I can’t help but think ITV should have used a similar branding.

They obviously want to have some threads running through consecutive series so human eye and that standard oval eye shape and then using something similar to the 2003/2004 graphics would have made more sense. It would have given them the standardization/“ITV branding” they were looking for while still giving them the flexibility to throw in a loose theme around it.

IDK the prime era BBUK branding was always very sleek, cool, and dystopian and from what we’ve been seeing out of this branding is giving that same vibe. Even with the house and Mel’s house teasers giving off that cheesy/plastic ITV energy the rest of the campaign (even with the last minute adjustments) has been damn near flawless.

I wish 10 had been able to launch their reboot before ITV had so that they could have been more inspired than the garbage 7 put out.

That said to circle back around to BBAU again I honestly think even if there are other ITV threads throughout this series what we’re about to see is in many ways going to be the superior version.
