BB/CBB UK - Rewatch discussions

BBUK11 Week 9 Done (Part A):
  • Jo confides in Corin in the bathroom that she’s been struggling and is annoyed with the ‘untouchables’ like John James coming across with an air of arrogance and was contemplating whether she might walk but decides against it.
  • Mini task Sam leads the housemates in a spray can graffiti tutorial outside, declaring Mario’s portrait of Andrew as the winner. It’s then hung up on he store room door. Mario then tells John James in the bedroom he thinks it should be kept in good condition to be able to give to Andrew and John reckons he might be taking it a little bit too seriously, I had flashbacks to BB9 ‘It’s Just a Picture!!!’ lol watch out better not mess with it haha.
  • Sam serves his punishment for referring to outside in diary room by sticking a jar full of ground coffee beans? Or something to lettering saying he won’t discuss the outside again.
  • Another booze task sees Steve shouting at 3+ housemates to scare them winning them some alcohol. This later turns into a game of ‘I have Never’ which Corin Jo and Josie use as an opportunity to test how JJ feels towards Corin. They reckon he’s gone a bit off her and we see later in a convo between JJ and John James that JJ saw a different side of Corin come out in her argument with Sam last week, to which John James says Sam is like a disruptor to Corbin’s game plan, she’s trying to keep a lid on things but Sam creating chaos is bringing it out of people kinda thing.
  • We also learned that Andrew had had some erm ‘fun’ with a Watermelon before, which was spoofed on Big Mouth with a VT featuring the Andrew lookalike audience member.
  • The following day Dave upsets Jo by making an offhand comment about the I have never game being like losing some dignity or something and this makes Jo question what she said about herself or something like that but they talk it over later on.
  • There’s a mini task for Andrew and JJ called ‘Space Invaders’ where Andrew dressed as a scientist sits and logs in the small task room how many housemates JJ manages to ‘space invade’ and remain in physical contact with for more than 3 minutes continuously.
  • JJ manages to have his hand on Josie’s knee to prank John James, do a foot touch with Corin, and Arm wrestle Sam for longer than 3 minutes so they get to join them in a garden party where they stay in contact touching legs under the table. Mario’s massage of JJ didn’t count because it was Mario Invading JJ’s space and not the other way around. JJ also comforted Jo with a hug but was reluctant to keep it going for too long for the task because she was genuinely upset.
  • Corin also gets a group secret mission from BB to get an item from each housemate representing a letter of Sam Pepper’s name to win his suitcase back without Sam noticing, which the housemates complete.

  • Nominations day. With a twist, it’s ’Nasty Nominations’ where the housemates stand outside and one by one nominate using buckets of gloop, spaghetti etc over the others.
  • Jo came to the diary room to request to walk, but BB talks her around. Nevertheless, Corin takes a while to decide who to nominate and dumps on Jo which she is slightly taken aback by that Corin would nom her even though she was ok with going.
  • It ends up as Mario out in front followed by Dave, Jo and JJ tied. Josie and John James come out unscathed, but Josie gets the guilts for JJ being up only nominating JJ and Andrew in he moment because at hat point they had not been done yet, and not thinking tactically and thinking it through.
  • Dave is told he is barred from doing save and replace and will automatically be up for earlier hinting for Andrew to nominate him because he seemed very anxious about the face to face noms. Not to mention the night before he was joking in the bedroom about swapping Mario in during save and replace, but apparently that’s allowed now as Marcus Bentley mentions this episode when the rest of them are speculating (remember way back in week 2 Shabby and Govan were called out for it as part of overall noms discussion). Anyways.
  • The save and replace task is memory based, reciting an increasing sequence of animal noises in the diary room played to the others in. The lounge, and the other nominees in the kitchen with noise cancelling earmuffs on. JJ gets about 6, Jo does well with 11, whilst Mario takes the cake reciting 22. No big speech this time, he replaces himself with Sam who is a bit disappointed but accepts Mario’s explanation he had gotten to know him the least.
  • Dave later gets the hump with BB over perceived singling him out. Sam also then gets a punishment of not being allowed to nominate next week for telling JJ he wouldn’t have nominated him and tries telling Dave to chill out it’s not just him kinda thing (never mind as we later in the week find out that was the last noms it seems anyway so that punishment is moot). He was also earlier a little dramatic about BB confiscating their marbles game for Sam writing some markers with chalk.

  • New shopping task is about pantomime two person horse suits. Jo initially puts up a bit of a fuss about her suggestion of being one of the trainers was shit down pretty quickly by Steve trying to direct things a bit but she settles on being paired with Josie. Dave and Steve are the trainers of each ‘Horsemate’ pair.
  • They make up their own horse names with ‘Kolsek The Butcher’ (Mario & Andrew), ‘BB Bomber’ (Josie & Jo), ‘JJ Lightning’ (JJ & John James), and wait for it… ‘Tony the Curvalicious and most Bootylicious Horse in the whole BB World best served with Horse radish Dot Com’ (Sam & Corin). LOL.
  • Dave has been a bit down missing his kids so Sam voluntarily asks BB for a secret task to win the letter the Tree of Temptation read in reverse. BB gives Sam some Brie cheese to rub on himself to get at least 3 housemates to comment on his stink. It’s not coming along until Sam spices it up with a bit of chopped garlic and wins the letter to read to Dave.
  • The first Horsemates task is a bleep test shuttle run in costume which Jo & Josie are eliminated. Next it’s a quiz one round of which was watching a short skit video featuring Ife and Ben in stables. Sam and Corin were eliminated here. Unbeknownst to them the winning duo will exit the house the following day to take part in an actual pantomime horse race at Sandown park raceway.

BBUK11 Week 9 Done (Part B):
  • Sam continues to stir the shit out of Josie, making clopping noises with the hooves, and ripping her duvet off whilst she was insecure about the nation seeing her ass in baggy knickers. Later she gets him back by tipping some water on his pants on the lounge, which culminates in a bit of a sauce off in the Kitchen whilst John James tries to deescalate it.
  • The last horsemate task is a jumping course in the garden. The remaining two teams have two attempts to get the best time. They both tie on second attempt at 9 seconds flat, forcing a tiebreak. Andrew clips the last hurdle giving Kolsek a 2 second penalty, however their base time would not have beaten JJ Lightning anyway at 9 seconds, as they managed 8 seconds something on that final attempt.
  • The house is told that JJ Lightning will be leaving the house to go to Sandown Park and the look on Mario’s face for a moment comes across a bit can’t hide he’s disappointed it’s not him the centre of attention it may seem as Ben was saying before. Chin up Mario come on haha.
  • JJ & John James run the race and think they came up a few places back (anything top 5 would’ve got some money for the budget) but they ended up coming third (there was a cow in the mix which was disqualified apparently as it’s a horse race lol) winning 300 pound. I also thought maybe they could’ve wrangled John McCririck in to that one someway perhaps haha. The others get to watch it when they returned.
  • While they are gone. Sam seems to be bored and dresses up in a skirt still annoying Josie. Later JJ hides his hats and Sam comes in with a makeshift bottle loudspeaker, and also gets hyped up on coffee for the night.

  • BB plays a mini task of eye spy in the diary room with each of them where everything in there starts with the same letter. Corin’s is actually herself, as is Sam’s (rather the cardboard cutout of him). JJ says ‘Baby Oil’ but then takes a while to say ‘baby’ which was correct the doll behind him. Both Andrew and Sam tie on taking 1 second each so they pick the others to attend a party (Jo, Dave, Mario and JJ).
  • Meanwhile Josie gets the sulk on with John James yet again over something silly Laura mentioned about when John tried to escape through the fire exit or something. She reckons she keeps trying to find reasons to be angry with him and push him away as just something she does kinda thing. During them trying to talk about it though is Sam sticking his nose right in which pisses John James right off.
  • Later Sam and Josie appear to be on good terms mucking around until they overhear John James, JJ and Dave sounding like they’re having a bit of a bitch session about Sam being immature all together in the shower. This upsets Sam, particularly John James inferring he’s only chumming up to Josie because he’s scared of being evicted, and Sam confronts him before retreating to the bedroom sobbing under the covers.
  • John James comes after him shouting that he did say he was going to talk to him the following day about it one on one until BB calls him to the diary room to cool down.

  • The following day they avoid each other until John suggests they have a chat in the nest, where he explains it feels like a slap in the face kind of thing how he was sticking up for Sam even towards Josie, but apologised to Sam and they hugged it out.
  • A little later though Jo takes their speculating on the eviction as Jo being likely to go a bit to heart and has a bit of a sound off about it in the bedroom and diary room. John James also gets a bit of water flung on him by Josie in the bathroom and proceeds to get her back by pouring a jug down her back and pants.
  • Eviction, Jo goes, and the twist tonight is Davina announcing the finale date is a Tuesday 24th August - 11 days away - plus a snap vote by the housemates on who will get a free pass to the final. The housemates choose Josie. (I was pleasantly surprised it wasn’t predictable with Steve - he’s hardly been making the main show edit much in a couple eps recently and I think it comes across like he's been coasting a bit, although I did happen to see parts of some of the live feed grabs included in one of the playlists this week which was also interesting).
  • Davina also lets them know what’s happening with Ultimate Big Brother - that the winner of BB11 will re enter the house. Also voting to evict for the remaining 8 housemates has opened also for next friday (BBLB Sunday reveals it will be a QUADRUPLE eviction!)

  • BBLB: this week had quite a few ex housemates appearances. Ben’s search for Shirley Bassey in Wales VT featured a few Welsh housemates like Laura (BB8), Glyn (7), Rachel (9) and Dave’s mates and wife, Whilst he had another skit VT during the week inviting Sunshine, Laura and Shabby to dinner. Laura also took part in a segment about the Digital Spy BB Forums. That Gameshow thing featured a round where they had to guess previous male housemates who were doing a boy band dance thing - they were Gos (4), Eugene (6), Jonty (8), Stuart (9) and Siavash (10).
  • BB9’s Rex and Lisa were on talking about the face to face noms, They had Alison Hammond (3) and Nasty Nick (1) on during the week as well as Rachel doing a segment on ‘The Inbetweener’ housemates feat Emily Atack from the Inbetweeners. One of The Saturdays did her evicted depicted on a plane set for her interview and The Saturdays performed ‘Missin You’ as the Sunday Outro. Zig & Zag Interviewed Brian Belo (8) and Kathreya (9) this wee, and They had Rob Deering on the Big Mouth set doing a loop pedal song outro about the nominees.
  • Big Mouth had Guests Dom Joly, Hollyoaks actress Holly Jay Bowes and Jo, whilst BB6’s Anthony was on webwatch. Davina had a VT skit xfactor auditions style about finding Big Mouth Audience members, while Nikki Grahame (7) came in for ‘What The Folk?’ on guitar and dancing in the corner in a Watermelon bikini thing whilst musical guest Princess Nyah played out with ‘Hooligans’ song.

    Onto the next few episodes!

BBUK11 Week 10 Done (Part A):
  • Sam tells Dave that he ‘can’t trust him’ because he doesn’t understand him or something - not clear whether he’s just stirring and joking or what. Elsewhere JJ is wearing only the leafy pants for the morning as per a bet he made for not being evicted.
  • There’s a mini task for a party later on called ‘Taco Hell’. Introduced by 2 mariachi band members strolling through the house from the storeroom and back playing the housemates a song on guitars. Josie thinks one of them resembles Jean Claude van Damme. Lol.
  • The housemates split themselves into 3 groups each with a participant in the challenge, which is to eat a plateful of tacos/burritos. JJ playing for John and Sam finishes first, followed by Dave for Andrew and Steve? And Mario takes a while for Josie and Corin, it’s pretty messy with sick buckets and such. JJ’s team win some potted cactii and they all get the Mexican themed party with musical chairs and stuff.
  • John James tells Josie he loves her and is thinking of moving to be with her, which Josie tells Corin about.
  • Mario is called to the diary room midway through the party, and brings his eviction outfit just in case it’s a surprise eviction.

  • The following morning Sam pranks Corin by hiding her makeup bag, which she later finds. Sam thinks he should up the ante by stealing one of her hairpieces.
  • BB gives the housemates each a diary room special meal if they can whip the tablecloth from underneath it they can eat whatever remains on the table.
  • Later there’s a crossword game run by Davina Macaw that brings up comments they’ve said such as John James guessing he called Corin ‘False’ when iirc it was about JJ saying she was ‘Scary’ in her argument with Sam, and also about Mario coming across like a sore loser. The down word spelled was ‘Prisoners’.
  • Sam enacts his plan for Corin’s wig by dressing up as a Ninja and comedically darting and rolling around the house, waiting for the bedroom to quieten to nick Corin’s eviction wig while she’s sleeping and hides it in the top shelf above the oven in the kitchen in a pillowcase.

  • The next day Sam realises he took the wrong wig, Corin may have twigged to what happened and moved the actual eviction wig closer to her bed. He takes the opportunity to finish the job while Corin is in the bathroom toilet applying eyelashes. She discovers it’s gone and tries getting Andrew to go out and say she’s really upset just give it back although she shortly finds Sam’s hiding spot on her own.
  • Sam isn’t finished yet, going back to hiding Corin’s makeup bag a second time behind one of the ends of the sofa in the nest. As the housemates are getting ready to do BB’s latest mini task and are called to the lounge, Corin refuses until Sam gives up where he’s put the bag. BB calls Corin to the diary room and gives her 5 mins to search, she ends up finding it with Help from Josie.
  • The housemates do the self rating order task in a number of categories such as who they thought was most desperate to win, etc. Mario and Andrew are a bit taken aback by some of their rankings, but laugh it off with Corin later on.

  • The last proper shopping task begins with BB playing the housemates a video of Bob Righter coming to life (somebody in a Bob Righter costume strolling though the house) writing 15 predictions about how the housemates will act predictably in the final week and sealing them in a briefcase with a ? On it and suspending it in the garden. Housemates will watch the Briefcase whilst trying to act non-predictably not to fail at least 8 of the predictions. It causes a bit of an argument between John and Corin over her refusing to not put on her make up even though they have no idea if thats even one of the predictions.
  • In addition to this, Bob Righter spits out cards for each housemate to be summoned to the Diary room to make a choice between the least predictable of 2 options. Unbeknownst to them this has no effect on the task outcome at all. Josie turns down proposing to George Lamb waiting in the small task room, in favor of making John James wear a crab outfit and the others referring to him as Crab eyes. After explaining it to him in the Nest. John James basically refuses in the Diary room and tells BB he’s not doing it in part protest to Corin not giving 150% so why should he give a rip, to which Corin comes out saying he’s being a bit hypocritical in a way and now he knows how he was being toward her this morning. However he later softens up after JJ comes out in a sumo outfit picking the ‘Heavyweight option’ looking ridiculous and gets into the spirit of things. Sam chooses being Josies butler servant when she rings a bell.

  • Later another wild moment as there is quite the downpour, then the main area and bedroom starts leaking, then turns into a mini flash FLOOD! The housemates are evacuated to a nearby production shed whilst production inspects the house and puts in drying heaters and fans to get the house back in order. The housemates return to the large task room which has been decked out as a makeshift dorm. It reminded me a little of the bomb scare in BB4. It was a 1hr 10 min extended episode.
  • They had one of the producers on BBLB explaining what may have contributed to it was one of the rolled up socks the housemates had thrown during a game (after Dave was whining about the marbles being confiscated earlier for Sam writing markers with the shopping list chalk) landing on the roof and there being a bit of a drainage issue with so much rain.
  • Emma was also able to go into the house to see the drying efforts as the Yard and kitchen area was back available for the housemates (with the Kitchen door blacked off with a sheet to the main house) whilst the Mole Hole became the small task room and the Nest a makeshift Diary room until the housemates returned to the rest of the house the next night. The Bob Righter from the video also came back to leave the cards outside (also appearing on BBLB and the Eviction show).
  • Continued Below...

BBUK11 Week 10 Done (Part B):
  • Whilst the house is drying and airing out, Sam kicks off a lot of bickering from Corin and Josie backing her up after he finds someone appears to have put some shaving cream on his shoe or something. This in turn has John James and Josie off with each other gain as she is fed up of John attempting to defend Sam.
  • Although they seem to patch things up somewhat as the day went on. Mario gets a choice of being handcuffed to Ben for a bit as he renters the house for a visit. John James gets a choice between giving a massage to Rachel or Rachael (the OG one) giving him a massage in the mole hole. He picks Rachael the original, although this reunion turns sour fairly quickly as She is telling him about the things she’s been doing after leaving like the photoshoots and rebuffs him saying she actually has turned down some things to which he tries a low edgy blow by going ‘Yeah I bet the only work you’d turn down is money for sex’ or along those lines, which, when you actually think about it, isnt really that much of an insult that he thought it was coming off as iykwim, like yeah she probably would turn that down, but it was a whack thing to say to take it to that level regardless.
  • John tells the others what he said when he returns, but starts shitting himself when Corin comes back from her choice which ended up being a date with Nathan in the small task room, putting two and two together that Nathan & Rachel are together, and John going oh shit is he going to blank me or attack me when he gets out. He starts telling BB he wants to walk again to avoid the eviction baying crowd and stuff, BB asks him if theres anything they can do to which John asks to speak to Nathan, which they arrange the following morning with a Phone call which placates John enough to stay and see what happens in the eviction, now he knows Nathan was offended but told him not to worry about it. Josie did have an interesting line I thought also about well Nathan wasn’t particularly viewed as a saint either, remember back when people were all a fuss about him coming off as aggressive to Shabby and stuff. Anyways.
  • The final two choice tasks were Steve getting Titan to come back in and read out the others nomination reasons for Steve, and Dave with Andrew chose singing Andrew Stone’s song with him and back up provided by ‘Jesus’ on guitar to the rest of the housemates. Afterwards Bob Righter comes and brings the briefcase down, with Josie reading out the predictions. They failed overall failing around 11 of 15 including Josie sucking her thumb more than the allowed times, Corin taking a long time to do her makeup, and John and Josie spending time in bed together.

  • On morning of the quad eviction, Dave and Sam clean up the bit of messy house they left from the night before. Come eviction time, Davina announces it as one through to final and an eviction in no particular order, kinda surprising as I kind of expected some to stay or go then again as a vote to evict still and 4 leaving, also kinda understood how it went down, still, it took out Steve, Corin, Sam, putting through Andrew, Mario and JJ. Leaving it down to Dave and John James, with John James going and having a moment with Josie before walking out.
  • Keeley was one of Steve’s callers in, they also addressed a headline about Rachel, Corins girlfriend saying Corin and JJ broke her heart but apparently she’s open to ‘talk’ with Corin. Sam had a fake moustache for his interview and John James said he would be open to the mag deals after all if Josie was up for it.
  • BBLB guests included Jo being brought in by two hunks for her interview, X factorUK 2009’s Lucie Jones doing that gameshow thing with Emma (which had a round guessing the BB9 housemates disguised in the zap task suits (Mo, Mikey and Lisa). Lisa later faced off against the Asparamancer in predictions.
  • Also on were Terry Christian, Lady Sov, Zig & Zag interviewed Brian Dowling, Davina was handcuffed to a gorilla suit person, John James’ Mum was also finally in person in the studio, Chilli expert ‘Darth Naga’ had an ear off with a roll deep member, who did the Sunday outro song ‘Green Light’. Same Difference from. X Factor did Fridays from the big mouth studio.
  • On Big Mouth the guests were Lethal Bizzle who was also the musical outro guest with Fire amp singing ‘Shut Up’, Gemma Bissix, with Webwatch by Comedienne Kathryn Ryan. They Had the Quadruple evictees on with Sam defacing a picture of Josie, John James on a Lie detector thing, and the four of them trying to have a rap battle off introed by ‘K-Zee’ (BB9’s Kathreya). There was also a Avatar spoof VT ft. Nathan and Ife, and a Mortal Kombat one featuring Ben, Nasty Nick, Aisleyne and I think Billi from BB8 and Rachael iirc.).
  • From here I’ve got up a bit ahead the final few days to the Finale and UBB launch, just doing some catch up on way back through now, (x1.5 speed is also good for some bits here and there of BBLB and Big Mouth and such at times) but next recap update soon and I’ll get into more of UBB (and possibly more of the overall write up once i’m done there).

    Onto the next few episodes!

Will be interesting to read your thoughts on BB11 as a whole now you're nearly done. I thought it was a strong series myself, probably the best since BB7, and really gave the show a template to sell itself on to move forward, a template C5 pretty much tore up.

I haven’t rewatched BB11 since 2010, so it’s been interesting reading your thoughts. Looking back, I’ve never been sure whether I enjoyed it because it was a good series, or because of the “event” of it being the last ever series (look how that turned out!) but it was a real improvement on BB10, the only C4 I didn’t stick with.

It was nice to see the effort put into the show, and there were a few things that I perhaps wouldn’t like in a regular series, but because it was billed as the last ever, it almost got a bit of a free pass in my mind to take more creative lisence with a few things.

I’m interested to see your thoughts on Ultimate BB, the final send-off on C4, and the transition into the C5 era!

Oh okay, I see so they were loosly revealed thereafter.

Have just started watching the eviction show. And now I see what happened. Davina revealed that Alex was on 39% Alison on 37% and Sandy 24%. Production must have wanted Alex to stay and Alison ended up getting Estelled (a whole decade before Estelle even got Estelled).
And a decade on Estelle feels from getting Estelle'd ;) x

Aaaand I'm back. Been busy the last 2 weeks moving houses (I'll be starting Channel 5 era with a change of scenery) So I did start UBB a little bit and also catching up on CBB24 now that I'm more settled. Post coming in a sec on the end of BB11/UBB switchover. ;)

BBUK11 Week 11 & Finale Done + Ultimate Big Brother Begins (2010 - Launch)
  • Tree of Temptation has a final task; Andrew must say yes to everything. Tree slowly lets in the others to the task one by one, starting with Mario who decides to go on a nudist stroll everywhere for a bit, also getting Andrew to attend to the clothes wrangler in just his boxers. They are successful with the task, the prize is ‘The Perfect Day’ for the following day. Later they think they can hear John James and Sam shouting from over the wall.

  • The ‘Perfect Day’ of pampering begins with Anthea Turner coming into the house to serve breakfast in bed. Later stylist Lee Stafford and his assistant come in for some haircuts and makeovers (there was also a bit of a waxing session on JJ’s legs earlier with some beauty spa ladies came in (They waxed a bit of Andrew the day before). Lee gets stuck into JJ a bit about the Corin thing haha.
  • Later dinner is served by Nancy Lam in the Kitchen, and after Simon Webbe from Blue came with some backup and sung a song. The next day the housemates are locked in the bedroom whilst a dinner is set up outside for them, where they build a fort out of the mattresses and stuff. Theres also the Tombola from the launch now filled with discussion topics for the penultimate day in the house.
  • Little Brother the last few days had Zig & Zag interview Aisleyne (BB7), Count & Sindel ft Mystery Jets did the Sunday outro with ‘After Dark’, The Quadruple Evictees did a bit of each others Evicted depicted, and they also had the other ex hm’s sing ‘Don’t Stop believin’ in theBig Mouth Studio. Anthea Turner was on, plus Emma and George took turns speaking to the finalists as Big Brother in the diary room. The post Finale Big Mouth is missing from the lists for now. and UBB lists are a little bit spotty between them at a glance but should be able to piece together for now well enough (I'm up to the Friday Day 4 eviction and BBLB before it).

  • The Finale stage was in the centre of the crowd across from the house this season. Dermot popped up in a montage of platitudes for the finalists. The placings went close pretty much as I expected (I knew Josie was the Winner) except I thought Andrew might’ve pipped JJ but he came in 5th. Mario 3rd (with a butterfly adorned eviction jacket), Dave 2nd and Josie the winner. She got a brief moment reuniting with John James before heading back into the house as the first in for Ultimate Big Brother! (I’ll do a bit more BB11 wrap up after I polish off the end of UBB).
  • Ultimate BB kicks off, fun that its a mix of Civilian and Celeb former housemates, a pretty good spread as well with a few doubles (Chantelle & Preston, Ulrika & Coolio). John McCririck will be getting a Tree of Temptation task the following day. The house has also been a bit spruced up in areas like the shower being more enclosed and stuff for the Ultimate housemates.

    Onto the next few episodes!

BBUK: UBB Week 1 Part A (Up to Sunday Day 6 BBLB and Day 5 Recap Daily Show)

  • The Wednesday BBLB kicks off with the other 4 finalists of BB11 having a chat, Judy James analysing the entry body language of the housemates, and Kat (BB9), Caroline (BB1) and Amma (BB2) who were all part of Nikki’s mini task ‘Who Is She?’ where she had to guess who it was by touch with hands through a box.
  • Wednesdays Daily and both Thursday episode + BBLB are missing from the lists atm, but from what I gathered from recap VT’s The Tree of Temptation gave John a task to play nice with everyone, in exchange for a newspaper every day he’s in there or risk being immune from the first eviction (like last time, John pleads with the public to evict him first lol). However, it was a bit of Deja vu from last time also as he kicked up a bit of a Strop when Tree asked him to up the ante and start giving the others compliments and announces he’s going into silent protest until the public are allowed to vote if he’s put up (Although he still completes doing his nominations).
  • Before this though he manages to upset Chantelle upset by remarking about Preston and Chantelle would be good for the show to get back together, they are still somewhat awkward with each other. especially as this week is what would’ve been their fourth wedding anniversary. He also goes on a bit of a tirade with Makosi talking about something religious based, and along with Nadia has Josie paranoid about John James treating her right because she hasn’t seen what the public perception is like and John has taken a shine to ‘Bristol’ and thinks she’s great.

  • The following Day Nadia’s words have Josie feeling really insecure about her place in the house amongst all these ‘celebrities’ and so she does the runner fire exit escape during nominations running outside into John James, who just happened to be there recording a message for her to try and encourage her to stick it out. John has to change his nomination for her (only because he wants to be up against someone who’s really popular to ensure he is evicted) to Brian. Ulrika is a little disappointed that she walked. A few nominate Makosi for talking about hypnotist Paul McKenna as like the second coming lol.
  • Tree of Temptation gives Nick a task to write the two nominees names (Coolio and John) on pieces of paper and hide them in the house. Next BB brings in Darren from BB1 to search for the hidden notes and read them out to the table announcing the nominees.
  • Friday’s BBLB featured Josie chat after walking (She also had a chat with Davina on the eviction show and appeared on Big Mouth with John James), Revael of the 2 housemates going in after the eviction (BB5’s Michelle and Victor) and Davina chatting with Emma inside the new bedsit where they will be entering.

  • Day of the eviction Makosi is getting gawked at outside showering. Nikki is given a mini task to interview the others for News Of The World and type it up using a manual typewriter which she ends up having a bit of a strop about. Makosi thinks BB is pandering to Nikki’s job and Makosi hasn’t yet been given any special task or luxuries so she has a bit of a diva moment not wearing her mic but soon after puts it back on again after she’s calmed down, chatting to Ulrika about her perceptions about the person she was before and after her original BB season.
  • During the eviction (John goes by a very close margin (50.6% of the vote)) Coolio starts winding everybody up first by mimicking Nikki’s accent, then mocking Nadia who starts getting mouthy back at him. Later he apologises to the bedroom.
  • Victor and Michelle enter the bedsit (which has its own mini Diary room replica of the one from BB5) and choose Nikki as the first prank to be terrorised by ‘Mr Snuggles the creep clown who keeps pointing at her for a bit before leaving.
  • Big Mouth also had John McCririck, Josie & John James, guests Brendan Sheerin and Bob Mortimer, Andrew Stone on the webwatch, and Aggros Santos playing outro with ‘Saint or Sinner’ and someone dressed as John McCririck in a cape dancing in the corner.

  • At the end of Saturday’s episode there was a teaser that Coolio had left the house. What happened was that He and Nadia continued their row from the night before when Coolio wrapped her shoes up in a bedsheet which really riled her up and she went shouting off to the diary room to calm down. Coolio then decided on mutual agreement with BB in the Diary room to just walk out as the atmosphere in the house was becoming too heated. Chantelle was a bit disappointed as she had been getting along with Coolio. It’s also raised a bit of discussion and speculation around if Nadia’s playing the game a little bit by actually taking on Coolio’s strategy of trying to play things up so as many others walk to better their own chance of winning.
  • Victor and Michelle meanwhile have been watching the action from the bedsit (also getting some outside time in the garden for a breather). BB gives them some ‘nice’ treat options to give to the others, which included calling Nadia to the diary room for BB9’s Stuart to enter to be her servant for a while. They also chose Nick and Brian to have a dance party with props in the small task room, dancing to songs such as Kylie Minogue On A Night Like This and Chris DeBurgh Lady In Red. Victor watching was also singing along to Britney’s Womanizer lol.
  • Later The housemates play charades with pictures of past housemates in envelopes. Victor gets a bit annoyed at Brian for flatly using the words aggressive to describe him, suggesting he might have it out with Brian when he gets in there which upsets Michelle a little like he’s going to go in OTT or something but he clarifies later on.

  • Sunday’s BBLB had John McCririck (Example did his evicted depicted drawing (also sang the outro song ‘Last Ones Standing’), Marco & Ahmed (BB5) with Aisleyne (BB7) discussing the bedsit, BB9’s Stuart about his visit to the house, Pete Burns (CBB4) about Chantelle & Preston, Josie & John James had a date at the farm VT, and Zig & Zag interviewed Alex Reid (CBB7). Carole from BB8 also popped up in the Who Is She portion of That Gameshow thing (John and Polly Hudson from The Mirror were on one team then Emma had a chat with her after).

    Onto the next few episodes!

I'm on the home stretch now (nearly up to the Wednesday Eviction in Final week of UBB);

and good news the missing eps + between my list sources got fixed up so I rerouted back through the First two Daily Shows and Day 3 BBLB. Not much I didn't already get from bridging the recaps in the other episodes, but BBLB had TPT, the Booby, and Josie straight after walking from the house.
The Dailies also showed that as well as Nikki Having to guess multiple choice in the Who Is She? mini task alongside Caroline, Kathreya and Amma, Grace (BB7) and Anna (BB1) were also part of that line up, and the second round was picking the correct Lisa (from BB4) out of a lineup saying her one liner 'I could kill you with just these two fingers'.

Next up, Week 1/2 recap Part B up to Day 11 Eviction and Saturday Daily Show. ;)

BBUK: Ultimate Big Brother Middle week recap Part A (Day 6 to Day 8 ish Dailies)
  • More unpacking from Chantelle about the divorce and how she feels about being back in the house with Preston. Nadia chimes in to Chantelle’s story about feeling like she wanted to change herself to get away from the divorce, saying she needs to learn how to live herself without needing validation from a relationship or a man.
  • Theres a bit more on Preston’s side too as Makosi questions him about it and praises how they’ve both been able to handle it with some maturity in the house kinda thing.
  • It’s interesting tied into Dr Pam Spurr’s chat with Emma this week on BBLB about overt vs subtle attention seeking how Nadia seems to be a bit of both, whilst Chantelle and Makosi may be up against the ‘primacy effect’ of their public perception from the viewers from their first stint in the house.

  • Makosi makes some more outlandish statements, with some funny Victor commentary from the bedsit like when she said that BB went to Africa after her season and the girls all started doing afros (Cameron went to BBAfrica before BB6) and that she hopes Anthony doesn’t come in because the Jacuzzi incident was and still might be scandalous in Zimbabwe and Victors like I don’t think Zimbabwe cares that much about Anthony returning to BBUK.
  • The big heads mini task sees Ulrika make some predictions such as Nadia quitting and taking her head off first, whilst Nikki does pretty well making it almost to the hour and Preston was just over but closest to the mark. Afterwards Victor and Michelle are revealed in their big heads sitting in the garden.
  • Victor and Brian clear the air about the charades game, while Nick and Victor have been getting along well also doing their own little skit version of BBLB ‘little brothers cousin’ from the Nest with occasional guest appearances by the other housemates.

  • Nominations are done with a twist, each housemate nominates whilst doing a classic Diary room task.Brian gets chilli eating, Nadia spelling challenge, Makosi crying, Ulrika cake drop from Cbb7, Nikki gets brush teeth with Tofu from BB9? (I thought this was BB10 but that was Lisa with Chill and Sophie refusing to do the fish one but Iirc the BB9 one had them brushing their teeth then asking others to guess what it smelled of?).
  • Anyway Nikki refuses and opts for electric shock task from BB9 like Chantelle, Preston has ice shots task, and Nick has ignore the obvious clown for his. Nick out in front, followed by Chantelle Nikki, Ulrika, Makosi and Nadia. for a Double eviction Friday.

  • BB1’s Craig enters the house to run a mini task, where its just him with a power tool vs the 10 others without to build a flat pack shed. He wins then pranks them by asking them to pick the 2 who did the least (Chantelle and Brian) and say they had to vote to evict and replace with Craig but only kidding.
  • Theres also a bit of Tension brewing between Makosi and Ulrika after she walked off after She and Victor were discussing how frank and open she is about talking about her sex life and she felt Ulrika made a face. Victor says in the diary room he could potentially stir the pot with that if he really wanted to.

  • The following day is a throwback task, to BB7’s Majorettes task, this time though its set to Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance. Nikki thinks shes holding back from causing a fuss about wanting a bigger role in the task since its from her year, yet doesn’t want to take the spotlight off Chantelle by being lead dancer (and Chantelle has prior real world experience) nor wants to be the Choreo - The Choregapffr (Choreographer) (as Chantelle has trouble saying in the diary room) but ends up taking that role anyway after some encouragement.
  • Nikki taking her time coming out to try and teach the rest/get some help with it as she goes for a jog first to Ulrika’s slight annoyance. She still gets to do the dance as well, so not sure what all the fuss was about but there you go they got on with it. They had Glyn, Grace and Mikey on BBLB talking about it and Nikki. Later in the Diary room Nikki tells BB how she’s feeling a little alone in the house in the sense she’s the only one from her series. That’s about to change. The housemates pass and get an Indian feast dinner.
  • Tree of Temptation gives Brian a task to get 3 housemates to admit in casual conversation that they feel like theyre the most famous in the house. He fails at it and punishment is to read out a BB story in the diary room which. unaware to hi then gets ‘Badly edited’ and played chopped up as if he’s saying he’s fake and a liar etc. LOL.

BBUK: Ultimate Big Brother Middle week recap Part B (Day 9ish Daily to Day 11 Daily (Eviction #2) + BBLB/Big Mouth)
  • The theme for this week’s shopping task is revisiting old tasks a lot of which are associated with each housemate personally. Preston has to eat a box of chocolate liqueurs in 2 hours without being sick (Stacey Solomon was back trying this on BBLB), Makosi has to be the least popular housemate again, but the others for an hour are told while she’s in Diary room listening to Axel F By Crazy Frog that they must make her fail the task by being nice to her and making her feel more popular than ever.
  • Later Ahmed (BB5) comes in and makes a random came smashing plates. Ulrika and Nick perform Endless Love and the video online has to beat the 81K views set last time. That night Nikki in a bit of a strop about them snoring.

  • Next morning everyone talking about Nikki waking everyone up instead of the snoring, complaining about the snoring. Makosi has to wear a green suit with baubles to ‘edit her out, brings in Anthony BB6 for a lawn lunch and they put the jacuzzi thing out of the way Anthony reveals it was fingers when Makosi thought it was the D lol.
  • Victor Nadia and Chantelle must do a performance of I Want It Right Now as Kandy Floss. Victor thinks he will be Humiliated with a H’ lol. Whenever ‘Bubble Hold Me!’ plays Brian must run to podium to dance with an ex hm, We Got Marco (BB5), Samanda (BB8) and Glyn (BB7).
  • Nadia and Ulrika have a fight about Ulrika not clearing a cracked plate from the sink, before Kandy Floss do their performance in the large task room. Preston seems to know all the words miming along.

  • Day of the Double Eviction BB7’s PA Task comes back for Nikki, but this time Pete is the boss calling in from small task room making her type up a report, sort post its etc. Then they meet at the end. Michelle must rehearse Pie Jesu in large task room with backing choir for tonights performance to the eviction crowd, whilst the rest prepare and spec who will be the bride in tonights cap off Wedding task from BB5.
  • They are shocked as Makosi and Nadia are evicted, then Vanessa Feltz comes in in the wedding dress whilst Michelle sings Pie Jesu. After they all dance to ‘Power Of Love’ (Celine Dions version?) Vanessa settles in. I knew about Michelle and Victor going in before, but I was thinking at the start you know who I’d really like to see come back and rep CBB1, Vanessa Feltz so that was a pleasant surprise. They were guessing it could be Shell or even maybe Aisleyne.

  • BBLB: Some more of the BBLB guests this week included A Feng Shui expert, Comedienne Katy Brand, Sam Pepper doing a BBLB work experience VT, More Ex Hms Craig, Narinder, Anthony (also in the camera run). Josie had a VT with John McCririck and The Booby at home, and Zig & Zag interviewed David from BB10. Emma also chatted to Davina under the boxes from BB6’s task.
  • Big Mouth: there was a VT skit about BB1 Craig in the style of an expose about him running a slave labour sweatshop for ex hms including Alex from BB3 and Anthony from BB6; Guests were Andi Osho and Jarred Christmas with Tom Allen on Webwatch,, Makosi came on but had a walk off when asked about the Jacuzzi thing again but came back; Nadia declined to appear it seems (and also on Sundays BBLB). Musical Guest was Bashy, singing ‘Fantasy’ while Kenneth from BB10 was dancing in the corner wearing the same green screen with baubles outfit Makosi wore.

    Onto the next few episodes!

It's been a while since I intended on watching all of BBUK, I think now is the time to revive it. I will be boycotting BB4 since I did struggle a bit with these older seasons (excluding BB2) and I've only ever read bad things about the season. I started BB5 tonight as thats a season I've always intended to watch but never got around to it.

I'm not sure what is available to watch online, but when you watch the UBB final, you should see if you can also find 'Big Brother: Dermot's Last Supper' and 'Davina's Big Send Off' to watch the whole evening as it played out on Channel 4.

BB4 has its moments but especially controversy/drama wise its pretty tepid looking back bar maybe a handful of moments compared to its surrounding seasons, most of them were absolute shithouse at nominating and loathed having to do it (Except maybe Jon had some interesting sessions iirc). Maybe if you wanted you could take a skim through the notable parts like the unexpected bomb scare episode. The Intruder housemate was particularly good that season as well I thought at stirring some things up a bit. After that they barely reference BB4, It's mainly Jon Tickle coming back for the appearances but there are a few exceptions. ;)

Yes, I'm pretty much done with UBB now and started CBB8 (Just doing some clean up with UBB's Finale night eps and my write ups), The Finale Night was indeed thats it extravaganza, reading those ep titles made me think it would be possibly a post series BBLB/Big Mouth style catch up but no, It Went Finale Night (Boot and Interview Down to the Final 3), > Dermots Last Supper > Davina's Big Send Off > The Final Hour (Winner announcement, Interview and Davina signs off).

I think with it being the "last ever" BB at the time it was right it ended on the night.

Will be interesting to see how different or similar you find the C5 series immediately after watching a C4 series. For me beside production issues Marcus was always the biggest barrier - everytime I tried an episode I just physically couldn't stick with it due to his narration. So glad he toned it back down for ITV.

BBUK: Ultimate Big Brother Final Week recap Part A (Sunday BBLB to Wednesday Big Mouth/Thursday last Daily Show)
  • Saturday’s morning wake up alarm is a delayed turning on the lights to (Bjork’s?) ‘it’s oh so quiet’ when it gets to the big chorus bit.
  • Vanessa’s CBB1 freak out moment with writing on the blackboard table is homages as she’s given chalk to do the shopping list on a table set up in the lounge. Ulrika ends up taking charge but overspends by a good 200 pound so they have a few things taken off when it’s delivered later.
  • The days task is ‘enjoy the silence’. Rex from BB9 is waiting for them in the large task room dressed as the devil with horns headband, with a set of different challenges designed to try and make them shout. The housemates must keep quiet while Rex tries to put them off.
  • This includes Vanessa & Chantelle juggling a cactus, Brian searching a stinging bush for a needle prop, Preston getting thrown around by a wrestler, Nick crawling on upturned brushes, spraying Victor with a smelly water gun.
  • Ulrika got eating a Wasabi cone, getting Rex back by spitting some water from her bottle in his direction, Michelle had to endure BB4’s Jon Tickle tickling her and Nikki had to sort fish into a container with her arms through holes in an ice slab, meanwhile Rex was annoying her by following her around with a few of the fish.

  • They passed and won a rocker themed costume party while The Darkness’ I believe in a thing called love’ played. Nikki decides she’d like to change beds again which leads to a humorous exchange between herself and Vanessa attempting to get her to consider swapping with her (Vanessa doesn’t mind either way) or leave it.
  • Vanessa has some interesting discussions with the group ranging from topics such as plastic surgery Botox and her gastric bypass to tax. Although sometimes it borderline comes across as a little chat show esque. This is demonstrated in the following days task which is a recording of the chat show ‘FELTZ’ in the large task room, with Brian and Victor as stage managers, and Michelle as a runner. The rest of them are guests, and as Chantelle/Preston’s divorce is brought up again of course, it’s a bit awkward as Chantelle gets the emotions again (and has another teary moment or two in the days after) and they move onto the next guest.
  • They soon get over it again as the housemates get a party to celebrate and included is the nominations announcement via messages in the cocktail olives. Nominations this week were based on spinning a wheel to either rap, mime, draw, gargle, or nominate while their hand was in a box with something (Nick was the only one with this one). Nikki was funny with some of her facial expressions as was Chantelle’s bad attempt at rapping. Vanessa could nominate and be nominated, and was up along with Nick and Michelle for Wednesdays double eviction.
  • Nikki has a moment with Vanessa in the garden, telling her about how she struggled with her ED and how being on Big Brother has helped her. She later also tells BB in the diary room she’s proud of herself how far she’s come.

  • Tree of Temptation sets Victor a task to record the other housemates on a ‘victaphone’ having a ‘bitchy conversation’ about each other. He struggles to make it work and even after eventually making it blatantly obvious he’s on a secret mission, gives up in exasperation. The Tree’s wrath is for Victor to wear a tree costume until further notice.
  • During this, he’s given a task to eat several weird foods from around the world in the lounge in front of the others and try to guess at least 3 countries of origin correctly. He wins the house a party in loving a game of spin the bottle/truth or dare kinda thing. Later though Victors had enough of the tree outfit so leaves it in the diary room telling BB he’s not wearing it anymore.
  • The next day the tree gets back at Victor by way of cold showers. Dance group ‘Flawless’ (been on Got Talent) come and visit the house for the days task, auditioning for lead dancer. They end up giving it to Vanessa, who says she’s responsible for P Diddy’s dance moves or something haha perhaps a line that hasn’t aged well along with Nikki telling BB she felt like Jimmy Seville in the shiny tracksuit outfits they had on.
  • They perform their routine as ‘Flawed’ to Flawless in the large task room, the performance having sound bites including Nasty by Janet Jackson, that’s the way I like it, living in a box, and the BB Theme. They pass the task.

  • Day of the eviction, they start following Brian around the house as a joke to get in shot as he’s popular lol.
  • Davina enters the house and gets given a secret task by the tree to tell each housemate before she reads their letter from home one on one that they are her favourite.
  • After the eviction of Michelle and Vanessa (during Vanessa’s interview, there’s a random moment where some guy tried to rush and jump the barrier behind Vanessa but ends up flipping over it and being taken out (as in removed not ‘taken out’ as Davina jokes) by security), the others have a dance along to Take That’s ‘Never Forget’ (the Wednesday Big Mouth had a VT where Anthony bb6 Samanda bb8, Marcus & Angel bb10 and Nathan bb11 were singing it as a charity studio recording).

  • The Final Sunday BBLB had Matt Willis come in and beat Emma at the last That Gameshow thing (he had an earpiece as a secret task from Tree of Temptation). BB11’s Andrew was also under the covers with a watermelon as the guess for one of the rounds. Zig & Zag chatted to Mario & Lisa from BB9 (They were also the Wednesday Big Mouth outro dancers Musical Guest Skepta ft Preeya Kalidis ‘Cross My Heart’). Musical outro for the Sunday Episode was McFly with ‘Party Girl’.
  • Some of the other final week BBLB Guests included Keith Lemon as the stage manager for Georges’s LAMB chat show featuring Makosi and Emma, Aisleyne was back, Alex Reid was on. George and Emma also had a Zig & Zag segment.
  • Big Mouth Wednesday had Hollyoaks Bronagh Waugh, GLC’s Eggsy and Maggot doing a dance off with Vanessa and Michelle.

    Next: The Finale Episodes recap.

BBUK: Ultimate Big Brother Finale + Overall Season thoughts
  • The Final BBLB is broadcast from both inside the house (with the Final 7 confined to the bedroom) as well as back in studio. VT’s of George and Emma speaking to them in the diary room as BB, Zig & Zag chat to Davina and Show director Phil Edgar Jones, Chat with. BB1 Craig, BB11 Josie, BB6 Anthony and BB7 Pete., Makosi, Michelle and John McC Dave Schneider was there, along with Andrew Stone, Dean Gaffney etc reading the last BBNews segment. Finally after a Chat with Davina in the garden, the show signed off throwing to the opera style music video for that ‘It’s Time to say Goodbye’ song that several ex hms including Craig, Josie, Glyn, KInga, Mario & Lisa, Grace etc all recorded (which was replayed in the finale).

  • The Finale part one had some last action covering the last full day in the house (Thursday) where Marcus Bentley entered the house to officiate a Funeral wake for BB as the others are decked out in black. This was repeated at the beginning of ‘The Final Hour’Segment opening as Davina walked through the crowd followed by Josie, Craig Anthony and Pete laying the BB Eye wreath from the BB11/UBB design, and a Big Band playing the BB intro ready to celebrate the last episode.
  • The housemates had a party to celebrate the last day in the house. Also on the first part of finale, there was a tribute to Jade Goody VT and a VT about the BTS following Davina getting ready for the Week 4 eviction of BB11. The Top 7 through 4 places are evicted and Interviewed, they were Ulrika, Preston, Nick and Victor.
  • Between the Finale episodes there was Dermots Last Supper episode, which was a quick catch up with an ex housemate from each of the 11 main series: Craig, Narinder, Alex, Cameron, Marco, Anthony, Pete, Brian Belo, Rex, Bea and Ben.
  • Then George Lamb hosted Davina’s Big Send off from the Big Mouth Studio filled with loads of ex-hms where they discussed some of Davina’s favourite housemates (Including bringing back BB9 Stuart for some more objectification lol) and moments. Luke and Bex from BB9 were sitting next to each other but not thrilled about it having split up since their last appearance. Pete Burns played out the outro singing You Spin Me Round.
  • Back to the main show for The Final hour, It went Chantelle, Nikki and Brian the winner. After Big Brother played Davina a Best Bits and she signed off to end the show, folllowed by a final montage of the different houses with iconic quotes played. And there you have it! Channel 4 Era done and dusted!
  • Not quite I also flipped through the Josie & John James what happened next special (which apparently played on Channel 5 in October 2010) which followed them as they rented an apartment by the Thames riverside, some photoshoots in Portugal, nightclub appearances, Fitness regime and Perfume launch for Josie, and visited Josie’s F & F, also having a catch up with Josies Friends and some of the BB11 crew.

  • BB11/UBB overall thoughts: It was an interesting season, they did try and take some liberties such as the Eviction show outside the house performances which did well without compromising the format too much, also constantly evolving the twists such as the Use of Bob Righter changing from simply being a housemate hand grenade/treat was good. Even the introduction of the Save and Replace Veto part of the Nomination/eviction cycle was well done. I think in terms of parts of the season I think the first 4 weeks to the first set of intruders was fairly together - then maybe to Ben’s eviction (a week earlier than the ‘week 8 shift’ I observed kindof feeling like a thing for the longer latter series on Ch 4. Then the rest to the UBB launch.
  • As far as UBB was concerned I thought they did well enough with who they were able to get. Theres much speculation about who was/wasn’t asked/wasnt available vs if they were shying away from certain seasons or ex hms for being possibly too controversial/liability. I thought there was a decent enough spread although some have also speculated whether it could’ve just been all civilian housemates and no celebs or whatever. Side note I also saw comments that some people as well as perhaps the housemates thought Mr Snuggles the Clown might’ve been Rex, haha. That being said they also did well with the returnees just as part of tasks or cameos during UBB.
  • On the spin off shows, I liked the inclusion of the musical guests for the outros on Sunday BBLB. Adding Emma Willis as co host was also fun and she will carry through into Channel 5 and eventually not too far off stepping into the hosting role. I’ll touch on what I’ve already noticed so far from the first episodes of BOTS and OKTV BTO shortly.

    Next: Housemates quick wrap up

BB11/UBB Housemates:
  • Rachael: Got a bit stitched up by the save and replace twist, on top of being treated pretty harshly by John James flipping out on her. She got her moment though when she returned later in the season and it came around and backfired on John. She’s apparently still with Nathan and they have kids together.
  • Govan: Was pretty joined at the hip with Josie earlier on, so it would’ve been interesting to see if that clique would’ve continued had he not been evicted (and hadnt eventually walked if it was getting too much for him) and Josie hadn’t got caught up in the whole John James showmance. Again not much public after info for him.
  • Sunshine: Was interesting that she survived the first eviction in a bit of a shock and wasn’t up for the second so got a little more time to er… shine. She was sometimes annoying, but she did have some character development moments as well. Real name Yvette, she went and finished her medical degree after the show.
  • Shabby: She was good value, although she kindof botched it when she ended up walking because of the whole thing with Caoimhe and getting too caught up in it, although it was also the argument with Nathan that seemed to be the final push. Went on to be in some Lesbian show on Channel 5 ‘Candy Bar Girls’ in 2011 before becoming a tour guide?
  • Nathan: Was quiet the first few weeks and for a moment there, I thought he and Ife were kindof like the silent defacto leaders emerging in the house from behind the secnes. Then he started getting a bit of a temper and fell afoul of Shabby and Caoimhe and then turned out in the Save and Replace up against John James in the first head to Head of the season, although as mentioned later he came off looking great when John James kindof torpedoed himself with the Rachael thing at the end.
  • Ife: As above, She was a bit quiet and in the background the first few weeks then kindof moved away from the Shabby/Caoimhe dramas. As a Dancer she popped up in some other things.
  • Caoimhe: like Shabby, she got too in her head and paranoid about their friendship and how it was viewed and then the crowning moment was Josie thinking she fancied John James. She may have lasted longer had she not got caught up in all of that.
  • Keeley: also may have lasted longer if not for her injury, or perhaps may have even been evicted that week regardless who knows. I did read a thread aboiut she successfully got a payout over it a couple years after the show. She was good also in boosting Steve’s airtime by their friendship.
  • Laura: Very short stay in the house, Got along with Ben. Apparently according to the Sun where are they now article she works as a mental health Nurse.
  • Ben: Was one of the characters this season IMO. Could have been an early boot considering the pile on he got putting his foot in mouth a few times towards the beginning, but was allowed some breathing room to get some character development with some entertaining scenes of being way posh. Was very close with Mario and then Dave invariably, I think His departure was also a bit of a shift change in the season. After the show he apparently appeared as an extra on the Aussie series of Ladette To Lady at a garden party?
  • Rachel: She was very bright and bubbly and had a few moments with Ben etc. As mentioned on the show she’d appeared previously back on Pop Idol.
  • Jo: At first impression I thought she might’ve been a little more reserved but she definitely had her fun moments and also some slight strops. She went back to being a make up artist after the show.
  • Steve: He got by avoiding nominations for the most part for a good stint perhaps due to a little bit of background story armour, but also he didn’t really make the forefront off the edit sometimes, other than some slight disagreements and such. Although he had some moments like the week with Titan the Robot and some of the other tasks. As mentioned he did pick up a little when Keeley came into the house as well. After the show he competed in the Invictus games in 2014.
  • Corin: She was definitely entertaining and had a funny personality with her ‘Oim Luvin It’ are you Buzzin?’ catchphrases, but she momentarily derailed it a little bit with the whole crush on JJ thing. After the show she had her own salon as a nail technician.
  • Sam Pepper: Laura walking did him a massive favour and the last portion of the season, as he really stirred things up as a replacement housemate. He challenged the John James and Josie storyline, albeit sometimes he was a bit obnoxious. After the show he continued his Youtube career and got into some controversial debacles along the way apparently. Took a quick search and hes still posting videos recently.
  • John James: Was equal parts fascinating at times, frustrating and annoying at others to watch. From his repeated will he or wont he walk freakouts, to getting involved in the Josie showmance, It seemed he had a bit of a self esteem issue and or confidence in himself and his approach to not letting arguments go/settle for a bit. This was also evident in the Josie and John after series special. They didn’t last long after the show and apparently he came back to Australia and worked as a DJ, also later appearing on the 2018 season of Love Island Australia.
  • Andrew: Had a good journey in the house, being one of the younger housemates also maybe with a bit of a confidence in himself issue which he seemed to really give his all at the tasks as well, such as the Jack Bauer one. After the show apparently he went on to work at Microsoft.
  • JJ: Entered the house as good support for John James and Josie and their little gang. Got himself into a little bit of a thing with Corin looking after him but did well to come fourth. He was also friends with that guy from JLS and also appeared after the show in that further Josie spin off apparently ‘Something about Josie’.
  • Mario: Did well with the mole twist at first; but then became a bit moody sometimes toward his friendship with Ben and perhaps not sure what his role or place was in the house, but ultimately came through in Third. After the show he’s written some novels apparently.
  • Dave: Throughout the season I went back and forth on him whether I think he could stand to go or maybe stay a few weeks more. I think he was one of those housemates that perhaps could’ve been an early boot easily but perhaps also benefitted a bit by some of the twists such as save and Replace which allowed him more time to develop. By the end I thought he could’ve also been a decent winner who had a bit of a journey in the house. After the show he founded a children’s home in the Philippines and also became a novelist and blogger.
  • Josie: She was very laid back and chill, but also had a bit of a side of insecurity and paranoia about both her image at times as well as getting involved with John James or being annoyed by him. In the time since the show she’s presented on BOTS and OKTV (I’ve already seen her first appearance) and also on This Morning, and been on several other celebrity shows such as The Jump and Ima Celeb Get Me Out Of Here UK.
  • From the UBB housemates some notable updates I saw were that Chantelle got into a relationship with Rav Wilding, then later in 2011 or 2012 got together with Alex Reid and they had a child together!

So Yeah, Thats a wrap for now (Theres still a few things I can come back to later like the Pantomime from few years before this (Ive seen a list for) and the Something about Josie mini thing perhaps) but for now, Onto the Channel 5 Era! I might also do a rough tier list or something so far for the Channel 4 seasons a bit later. ;)
