Audience reactions during daily highlights

Longbow

Self Destructoid
It's these "live" shows that get put on with Kruger and the audience present. I find it incredibly annoying that i have to hear the audience laugh, cheer, woot and holler at what I'm watching, i find it to be cheap and it feels like Alex at times wants the show to be a sitcom purposely saving the "funny" stuff for the live crowd to laugh at. What's even worse is the things they laugh at 9/10 aren't even funny. I dunno maybe I've just had enough of people lately but that god damn audience getting piped in over the actual show is just cringey to me.

Well I've said me piece :).

Well, to be fair, they've always done the audience track during live shows ever since BB01.

The difference is now, the daily show segments are done in the live shows. Whereas in the Ten days, the daily show would air as normal (sent to Ten like any other daily show on another day of the week), and only then would the live show start.

E.g. it used to be:
Monday 7:00 Daily
Monday 7:30 Nominations [LIVE Audience]

Now it is:
Tuesday 7:00 Nominations (featuring Daily) [LIVE Audience].

I remember towards the end of the run on 10, they would play audience reactions on the daily show on Sunday. I think from 2007 onwards? But I too am sick of it. This show is juvenile enough as it is without the cheesy crowd noises.

Snaps. There is that slight echo of the audio that gets picked up with the audiences microphone that annoys the shit out of me! Very unnecessary.

i dont like it because theyre being told what to do/say and when, theres no way all that shit is natural,
it just sounds too scripted, if it was natural, im sure everyone would be fine with it.

Yeah, that's my problem with it. I think I remember someone saying last year that they went to a live show and were being told what noises to make.

But I need the laughter to know when I should laugh...canned laughter added....
No seriously, I am lost without the audience sounds... crowd awwwwwwh sound....

I actually enjoy hearing the audience react. It's not fake--- so I'm not bothered by it. Again, this is something the US version doesn't do. We have an audience once a week and we have one long "recap" segment before we see the live house. During this segment, you never hear the audience and sometimes I wish we would.

It adds nothing to the show though apart from annoyance. Let viewers react to the footage, not the crowd reaction (or on screen tweets).

It bugs me more that Tuesday night is marketed as a live nominations show, when it's clearly shot on Tues morning, or at least the in-house stuff is. Wed night's show even put up a time stamp of 10:51am after the nominees were announced to the HM

The audience interference on the HLs

It's getting ridicuous now. I know we had laughter in the past like last year, but now it goes the whole range from awwws, to giggles, to jeers, boos. I just don't want this crap interfering with the program, I can think for myself without the audience (whether guided or not) telling me what to think.

I don't mind the laughter. Sometimes when the audience laughs i don't find what they are laughing about funny so i don't laugh either. Easy as that!

Well I agree. The stupid dumb laughter annoys me too. Those people are like sheep. They laugh about everything, meaning a lot of things that are not funny. I also do not like that they can hear the audience. This way they know who are popular and who are not. Only funny thing is that they can think they are very popular, (Ed, Matt) when they hear the whistling but in reality they are not really.

Just cattle.

I agree - it's a pain in the arse, especially on nom's nights because you can notice it more even though there are less people in the audience.

That is interesting. I have not noticed the cheering much when the housemates are live I don't always watch all the live shows. I remember a couple cheers but not who they were for and a boo for Tully. Is this why the housemates know Tim is so strong? I was wondering how they would have any clue being on the inside I thought it would be so hard to know.

Yes they should not have the audience make a noise when they are talking to the housemates. Didn't grettle used to tell the audience to be quiet when she went live?

Yep - "Quite as a mouse"

I've become numb to it and it doesn't even bother me. I remember last years launch had a lot of canned (fake) laughter and ooh's when the housemates VT's played which was annoying but other than that it doesn't bother me!

I think it enhances the moment, if Tim didnt get laughs on live shows then people wouldnt be told to think hes funny so its working for him
