Anti-Jade

I really don't understand her popularity.. I think a lot of people jumped behind her with the sympathy vote - poor tragic Jade, low self-esteem, desperate for Ed's affections.. blah blah blah.. But otherwise, there's really nothing interesting about her other! She's so boring.. No real opinions about anything, no obvious signs of personality - I don't HATE her but I just am baffled as to why so many people would get behind someone so vanilla! I understand it's the rejection from Ed and the "woe is me, I'm not good enough" but that is really starting to wear thin.. I hate to say it, but I'm actually starting to find the unhinged nutter (Tully) more entertaining to watch!
For some of us or perhaps just me, I find it refreshing to have someone in the house who isn't as loud and feels the need to be heard and generally has a good heart. Her one on ones with some hms have been the most enlightening ones to me. They go into deeper territory and I like seeing someone's self discovery. It adds a different dynamic to such a competitive and bitchy household. Yes she is very pretty and her self doubts are unbecoming at times, but at the same time it's nice to see someone who is that self aware and admit they are not perfect. I like the humbleness she projects over the hostility that some bring into the game.

Yes! I saw the clip yesterday too. She started quietly, and boom look what happens? She is a lot more clever than I give her credit for. She did say she always gets what she wants. I just wonder how long before they run.

She was sitting on his lap the second it was announced. And then after whenever you see the 3 of them together, Tully will always positioned herself between them (eg. that second nomination show, during the picnic that the sister prepared). She deliberately pushed Jade out of that group. On top of that she continually push Jade towards Ed while continually brainwashing Drew against Jade. She is creepy.

That's not it at all. Well for me anyway. To me Jade is the only person in the house that is relatable for me as a normal human being. She has faults, oh so many faults, but she also has a heart of gold which is what I think makes people root for her. She has her faults, but I think when someone with faults is so self-aware of them and genuinely tries to be a good person then they become somebody that is not only relatable, but also somebody that people don't mind losing some money to save. She also seems to be the only housemate that is using this experience to grow and better herself as a person.

You need people like Jade in the house to balance out the more exentiric, over the top personalities. But that's not even saying I find her boring like I do Ed or Matt. She has a connection to all of the main storylines and she's a very valuable player to the show despite not always having the biggest voice. Her ability to throw Tully over the edge by merely breathing is entertainment in it's own right.

I don't think that's true. Being desperate for Ed is something that made people turn away from her. It wasn't good. I think it's ED that has nothing interesting about him. I don't feel sorry for her at all. I like her because when I first saw her she seemed normal and well grounded. She does have opinions on things. She talked about gypsies in Italy and getting to know somebody by going on a road trip with them. She thinks about things and has good ideas. I like how she worked two jobs and gave so much money away, but always has money. She doesn't sleep with photographers or do drugs, or talk bad about people, or back stab, and she just has a good head on her shoulders. I can relate to her when she says she feels stupid all the time and things she says and does annoy her. I'm the same. Basically I think Jade is amazing and sane.

This made me laugh out loud. Normal human being hahaha

Well unfortunately it's kind of true. Some of those housemates are so over the top it's nice to see someone "real" in there still.

And the irony that Jade, a model who has worked in Italy, is coming across as the most down to earth and genuine person in there is not lost on me.

What annoys me is that she was crying all day and you could tell it was because ed put her up, but she continued to look desperate and say it had nothing to do with him. I think she was even milking it a bit to try and get some attention from him when he wasn't drunk.

She's using her womanly wiles to good effect. Choosing to cry in on the bed before bed with all the men around, good tactic. Why not go to the sisters and Ben and Mikkayla and have a good cry there? They would be very sympathetic. Again it is all about male attention. Previously she cried in bed next to Ed after the Jasmine pash incident feeling sorry for herself but he was oblivious to her. This time it worked. She just wanted Ed to be with her, even Matt couldn't do it. Ed was obliged to console her.

No! Not the case at all....she had her head away and is sleeping on the other side of the room to Ed...matt was the one who noticed something was up and consoled her. Ed probably only cam just to make himself look better in the public eye and Tully was just being a chime. If she wanted attention then she could've cried in a much more obvious way. The sisters, Ben and Mikkayla sleep in the other room and they went to sleep b4 the others (u can check the live feed if u don't believe me) so that couldn't have been an option for her.

The problem with Jade is that for all her talk of, 'I don't expect anything because of my looks' blah blah blah. She totally does.

Everyone of her problems is about her not getting what she wants. She totally expects everything and then when she doesn't get it, is all 'woe is me.'

She doesn't expect anything, her self esteem has been obviously heavily damaged from her last breakup so ofc she would be fragile. She only sees herself as having looks as that's what she knows she can be good at, she hasn't seen the intelligent, deep and thoughtful side to her that we audiences see. It also doesn't help that someone she likes is being hot and cold with her!
She's one the most models girls in the house and doesn't go bragging, she's quiet but observant and I find as a very intriguing person. She's come of as being genuine and sure she has her flaws and insecurities but don't we all?

Yeah I guess we all have our flaws, that's true. But I have not seen the deep and intelligent side to her that you have seen. Can you give me an example?

I don't think Jade is particularly deep or intelligent, but she's pretty obviously a kind-hearted person IMO. She's deeply insecure and constantly needs validation and attention from Ed/Drew/man of the week which is annoying as fuck, but she sticks up for her friends and doesn't have a hint of mean girl-ness to her which is surprising and refreshing considering the way she looks. The difference in her attitude vs Tahan's is light years - she's a sweet girl.

I don't think Jade is deep or your classical definition of intelligent but I think she's incredibly perceptive which is another form of intelligence entirely.

It's something that most of the housemates, bar maybe Tim and Matt are missing.

Matt is not perceptive is that a joke

I was really starting have second thoughts of her until she asked ed to stay in her bed again even after he out her up for noms...seriously have some dignity ...he's just not into you.

He is. He was the first one to really notice that what Drew and Tully were doing was inappropriate, and he was the first one to realise that Jade was upset the other night after noms. He was also perceptive enough to realise that Tully is only happy when things are going her way but she breaks down when she's thrown in the same position as other housemates.

don't think jade is very perceptive. she should have got the hint from ed a long time ago. and her telling drew tahlia would appreciate him was pretty funny.

I disliked Jade from when she gave her first attentions to Ed up until the bit with the snake. The way she handled that situation showed grace under fire and a calm, likable girl. A good companion in troubled seas. She has no self esteem, is a former Milan model, yet is down to earth and cool under pressure. She deserves a bit longer.

Can we get an anti-Jade thread happening?

http://www.bigbrother.com.au/blog.aspx?blogentryid=1141734&showcomments=true

I just...I can't even. As if she hasn't already talked about wanting a career in acting and all that... comments like in the above link just go to show how much of a fameho she really is. All her bullshit about self-pity is such an obvious sympathy ploy, I can't believe people are falling for it.

I for one would be totally fine and happy if my life went back to normal after being on Big Brother. I'd rather the public forget I exist so I don't get heckled in the street by crazy bogans. I'm sure many others on there are fine with the idea too, but she seems to be one of the typical people using this show as a platform that the producer's have overtly said they wouldn't cast. What the even.

I don't think we need an Anti ANYBODY THREAD ...there's enough animosity in here as it is...do we really need a personal thread?
