2025 Reboot Casting

Hoping they actually took some notes from channel 7, only thing I will credit 7 for is casting.
They showed u can have a cast with older housemates that still feels vibrant and fresh.
I’ll be extremely disappointed if there isn't at least 2 housemates 40+, or a lot of older viewers will switch off as they won’t want to watch younglings they can’t relate to. Main demographic who watch tv is older these days so it’s evermore important.
Other than that in terms of personalities, I’m trusting 10.

Hate to admit it but I’m over 40 and I don’t think us “older millennials” are given enough credit. If we made for great HM’s in the prime seasons (For reference I’m Saxon Smalls age) then we’d make even better HM’s now that we’re “older” and “wiser”… Unlike our boomer parents I don’t think we’ve quite grasped the concept of growing old. I don’t have kids or been in a serious relationship so I guess that helps but mentally I’m still somewhere in my late 20’s/early 30’s. If I did have kids I’d like to think I’d be in my cool mom era.

I agree, I think we need a good vaiety of ages, not all 20's like in some of the earlier seasons where the oldest contestant had reasched the ripe old age of 30. I would even add a contestant in their 50s and one in their 60's as well as a few 30's and 40s to go along with the younger housemates.
 
I hope the bulk of the cast is mid/late 20s-mid late 30s. Throw in a couple over 40 and even 50/60. We don’t need more than one or two 19 year olds.

I want a genuine cross section that doesn’t alienate viewers in specific age groups since I actually want the ratings to be good.
 
This would probably be my personal ideal breakdown:
5-6 Hm’s in their 20’s, 3-4 in their 30’s, 2-3 40+.
Personality wise:
Probably 5-6 tamer, milder personalities e.g. David and Sandra (2014). 4 slightly bigger personalities e.g. Tahan and mikkayla (2013). 2 massive personalities e.g. Perry, Michelle, Tim (2006, 2007, 2013).
I trust 10 but imo it’s important they don’t over do it on big personalities, otherwise it’s too overstimulating and u kind of get desensitised to everything, loosing that shock factor, like bbuk ch5. This way it’s enough to leave u wanting more and versatile so u get a balance of moments imo. But I reckon 10 will nail the casting.

BBUK has this year had four HM 40+ and (three of) those have brought the most entertainment, while those in the 20-30 bracket (mainly early-mid), have even quite boring.

Also look at celebrity traitors UK, the elder cast have been fantastic.

Id personally prefer a 50-50 split of 18-35 and 35-
 
Yeah one thing that Celeb Traitors has done really well is balancing the airtime between the contestants. Australian shows seem to always make the Jonathan Ross or Joe Marler type personalties the whole show and gives them these gigantic edits whilst purpling people like David out, but they've got the balance exactly right on that show IMO. Obviously you will get some housemates who give more content wise than others but they need to balance it out so that we know everyone (which 10 did a pretty good job of with BB in the past TBF, but nine was shaky on this and 7 was dreadful.)

As the host of an upcoming revamped version of Big Brother, Tracina is responsible for evicting TV housemates with a now-famous four-word refrain: “It’s time to go …” And she has been repeating it to herself in the mirror since learning she would take the reins of the groundbreaking reality TV series when it returns to its original home on 10 for the first time in 17 years.

“I’m so nervous,” she admits to The Watchlist.

“I’ve absolutely been practicing; I’ve said it too many times. My family are getting annoyed. I’m trying it with different inflections to see which one works best.”

“At the moment, the span of ages (of housemates) is across five decades,” Tracina teases, adding that the line-up is still subject to change.

“It’s ranging from a grandmother to a single mum to a barber to a self-confessed bogan. We have blue-collar workers and white-collar workers. We have a diverse range.”

Tracina tells The Watchlist, there will be strict rules governing the behaviour in the house. “Anything where the housemates step out of line, there are protocols in place, because we need to keep all the housemates safe,” she says.
