2025 Reboot Casting

because youre a great character and youve kept it up for like 20 years now
I think you be surprised at how boring I am IRL. In my early 20’s maybe but I’m way too much of an introvert. I’d be of much greater service as a producer than I would be as a Housemate.

We visit a Big Brother Australian forum when the show isn't on the air. I assume we're all boring.
But legit 💁🏼‍♂️ 20 year old Kingston was pretty fearless or could at least push past it… 40 year old me could probably tough it out for a week or two but would probably crack at some point and end up getting cancelled for one thing or another.

I think the 40 year old me would have a way easier time in the house, "this is life now." Just dealt with it. At 20, nope. "This is bullshit" at the first annoying thing BB asks me to do.

I would be one of those who the fruck are they housemates? I would probably find the big group conversations with the big personalities too overwhelming cos I am used to working from home now so I would just be like I am on these forums and lurk and just pipe up every now and again. If i felt strongly about something you would for sure know about it though! So I would pop up out of nowhere in an edit because I got impassioned about something, and then half the house want me out after that!

I'm probably the opposite - cared too much about what people thought of me in my 20s but couldn't give a shit now. Would only go in it to win it though and just know producers ain't letting that happen.

Right now, 25 year old me would probably wouldn't be able to do it. I see the common theme in caring too much about what people think when in yout 20s. And it's how I feel right now in my current life stage, its not as bad as it was in my early 20s tho, travelling helped a lot. But I don't think I'd be super comfortable being on camera 24/7, I already hate getting my picture taken.

I think 20-30s is the best age in terms of bringing entertainment, but as for actually being mentally open to let the experience better you and to enjoy it as much as possible you're probably better off doing it in your 50s and 60s.

Not to mention people in their 30s and beyond are often bogged down with proper jobs, mortgages, marriages, kids, etc. to commit to being on BB.

I am sure a bank would love to hear "sorry manager, need a 3 month+ mortgage repayment holiday to go be a Big Brother housemate".

A 19-year old me auditioned for the show back in 2007. I was much too insecure to have stood a chance, but it'd have been a great formative experience. I'd still be interested in doing it as a bit of an experiment, but I really couldn't be fucked tbh lol

My 30s were my best decade in terms of feeling good about myself and maturing somewhat. But that's exactly when BBAU was airing on Ten and there's no way I would have applied. I did keep buying Starburst for that HM promo, but if I'd won that I'd have been as terrible as the guy who actually did 🤣

Finally, in today’s society with how multi cultural Australia is I’m going to be somewhat annoyed if we have 1 or 2 token POC. That might be hypocritical to say as I’ve just spoken about casting interesting people first and foremost and peoples race, ethnicity ect. shouldn’t matter but if I see 4-5 cookie cutter, gym junkie white men in their early-mid 20’s I’m going to be annoyed. There are so many interesting people out there from all different multicultural backgrounds in Australia. Watching a bogan truck driver from WA interact with a lawyer from Sydney with a multicultural background and seeing them interact and find common ground is a far more interesting dynamic than watching 2-3 white blokes aged 22, born and raised in Melbourne talk about footy and chicks.
Agree and disagree.

Seeing a white truckie interacting with a South Asian-descent labourer will not be that "different", provided if they both speak in a similar accent and have shared interests. Same way there will be no interesting dynamics if 3-4 blokes of different ethnic groups are meathead gym junkies who talk about chicks and footy. What matters is their interests and hobbies, not their race.

So I agree that there should be diverse housemates, but more diverse in their interests and background. That "POC" person could be just like other housemates in the house if he likes footy, cricket, and the gym.
