Laundromat style room? plans did say laundry in this location.

Regarding the stairs, here are my thoughts. They will be used for evictions and also access to the secret area. Now going off the storm promo you see housemates left behind, I think during the first week or possibly over a couple of weeks housemates will be evicted from the main house and placed into the secret area. Also some housemates might be placed into the house the first night but a snap first day eviction see's them moved into the secret area. The challenge BB will give them is to stay hidden for a week or 2 without being caught by the main house. BB will also give them tasks or challenges to do that could give them away to add some excitement to it. Could also be a variation of the series 3 house, just a thought.

After this task has completed the secret area will be used as a rewards area.

I theorized the same thing when I initially saw it, but on closer look I don't think any person was left behind when the Ark's door was shut. They were just racing to get in before it closed.
 
The backyard just continues to get smaller and smaller... :(

I remember watching BB01 and it seemed massive and now it's just tiny and it's hard to imagine it as it once was. Also surprising to see that the space that was used for the original eviction doors still exists as a hole in the exterior and hasn't be filled in/covered up...

To be fair I don't think we've seen anything which would cause problems. Seeing the facade of the back of the house isn't going to give anyone an advantage and we've not seen anything that reveals any space they wouldn't know about - anyone who has seen previous series knows there are a few different spaces off the garden.

I would say knowing that it's unlikely the old FNL arena (or the smaller Showdown arena) will be used changes the game initially. Without an arena to play in, it's likely the "Save and Replace" is gone - which means if HM's want to avoid being up for Eviction, their only chance to do so is to really focus on the social game from Day 1 as there is likely no weekly safety net (other than the Nominations Super Power).

Well it'll be obvious to them there is potentially a second or secret house next door with pool. Not all potential HMs would remember that even existed.
 
how curious...
the palm trees look like theyve specifically been placed on the outside at regular intervals, even up the left side (ie not for storage in the meantime, but like theyre staying there)

any ideas why?

Just a few things I noticed then looking at that pic...

I'd say that area with the marquee setup will be the entrance and exit of the house. The marquee is obviously just for the builders at the moment. So I would say housemates will be coming down the stairs but just not seen on camera, and come out into that area.

Good spotting I think you may be right! They would bother making it look good if we were going to see it on TV.
 
If the stairs are for evictions, they conveniently positioned next the former Garden of Eden where there is a gap in the wall, which makes me think that that area could be used for something stupid like another fake eviction...

Plus i've got the impression over the last two years that the HM s spent the majority of their time outside. Particularly last year, it appeared that they used the lounge only when called there or stuck inside because the ninjas were outside.

People really keen to see the house before the show goes to air can enter this comp for the opportunity to spent two nights in there!
