First impressions having only just watched the launch:

- The production is atrocious. Absolutely atrocious. It just looks horribly fake, nothing seems spontaneous, and it's so heavily edited that things don't follow a real sequence. Why does the music start after the housemates come out onto the stage? Why is the stage so bland? Why is the music they pick so generic and boring? Why is the theme music so flat?

- The house looks awful. It just doesn't look like a house.

- The show was underwhelming to the max. I was so excited with some aspects coming into this, but it just didn't *feel* like a big deal.

- A lot of the housemates are indistinguishable early on. All of the guys seem cut from a similar cloth. I'm not sure why BB loves the hipster vibe, but he could have calmed down a bit.

- I like Dion the most thus far. The girl with the curly hair whose name escapes me seemed fun too, and Dave was quick on his feet.

- Gold Coast girl and the Victorian Italian bloke seem like pointless inclusions. Neither are the type who should go far. Gold Coast girl's partner Lisa wore a ludicrous top too. I'm sure her boobs fell out when she was going down the ramp.

Disappointing start. Hopefully I'll get used to the house, and there are some housemates that made a positive first impression. It just all feels really... plastic unfortunately.

Oh, I forgot the bloody house tour. How hard is it to get that right? Why jump all over the place so we don't know where anything actually is? "ROOM ROOM ROOM THERE!" No. I want to see the house as a whole. It just went with the rest of the heavily edited show where we didn't actually see conversations, but instead all of the 'classic' twists.
 
I don't know if this has been discussed.

I assume the $$ being offered to the contestants with the power play will actually come off the final bottom line of the grand prize if those choose to take it along the way.

Of course HM's probably wouldn't be told until sometime into the game, which will spice things up perhaps.

Hope the girls take the $$ and make the series interesting from the start
 
Just watched the first launch, really enjoyed it! Nobody did anything to majorly irritate me, but it's VERY early days!

Actually, one of the only times I felt a little irked was when Katie guessed that Jason was gay, and was absolutely sure that Dion wasn't, from just looking at them. Sure, she was right, but there are plenty of gay guys just like Dion. I like Katie, I just can't help but feel a little irritated when people stereotype, masculine guys can be gay too. I know it was an entirely innocent comment though.

The "send one pair to the fishbowl" was similar to Matthew being sent to a glass box suspended over the garden in our BBUK this year, I just hope they don't follow our lead in giving someone a pass to the final on the second night. I'm confident that won't happen, though!
 
I feel them not eating plus no live updates will kill the ratings of this show at the beginning.
 
Ok, sorry to bring up an old thread but I just watched episode 1, so wanted to write my thoughts.

Priya - On first impression she seems vain but I quite like her.
Katie - I like that she's an atheist but she seems a little fake song far and kind of like faking being a bimbo. You can see she's full on trying to play the game but I don't think she'll be good at strategy. This pair is two strong girls, they will clash I bet. I like some of her jokes so she COULD be ok once she relaxes (everyone is fake at first)

Jake - Yay from Brisbane! Is he gay? He doesn't seem as cool in his long intro.
Yay he dissed the gym too :D
Gemma - She is so tall, yay! I like her from her intro though she's a bit bossy. I quite like this pair too. The odds are for them to be evicted first? :O

David - he seems just boring?
Sandra - She seems a bit old but maye

Dion - Ugh, the typical gym guy. But Brisbane! Actually he seems like he could be intelligent?
Jason - ahahaha sleazy salesman!He seems fake and boring.

Oh no did they ruin it by letting the HMs choose who to evict?

Haha at Priya and Katie wondering if Dion and Jason were both gay, I like Priya.

Skye - Ugh, beach bimbo? SHE is the favourite to win??
Lisa - kind of vain too but smarter than Skye, she seems rich

Travis - Hate him after like 5 words! Ughhhh horrible! I hate everything about him so far.
Ryan - boring...

It hasn't been announced on the show yet but Jake is actually living in Sydney, and he's Tim Dormer's flatmate.
Supposedly his sister said on facebook (or somewhere) that he is straight.
