Well that sure was unpleasant to watch but I cannot decide exactly how I feel about it. Firstly Big Brother itself was pretty shameful putting them up as a pair to go into the safe house after having Daley's girlfriend on BBBots a week prior crying and Emma comforting her. They then say it was up to the public so it's our fault which is true but they knew they would get the votes, of course ratings gold is more important.
But watching the actual incident with Daley and Hazel, if I were Hazel I would have felt threatened, however her body language and kind of egging him on initially was bizarre, not just the ass slapping and pulling his pants down but telling him to go mad 'do it' and she can handle it, etc. I guess it was drunk play fighting sexual tension that got out of hand. But as I don't have access to the live feeds I'm wondering reports that I've read are saying they slept in the same bed afterwards like after the diary room chat/warning. I haven't watched the complete BBBots yet but the first exclusive telling them Daley had been removed and when asked Hazel acted like she had no idea of why he had left, it was very odd. I guess it won't all be revealed but I think Hazel may get sympathy that may not be completely warranted... in saying that though I absolutely believe his behaviour was unacceptable and he should have been removed, no man should speak to a woman like that it was uncomfortable to watch but as I said I'm wondering how Hazel will be treated via the edits. Curious on what other people think about it?

I have just finished watching that ep... Yes, I can see the playful banter argument and yes, I can also see he got rough. SO all in all a good call.
BUT!
She knew what was up and the whole "I feel threatened" bit was IMO a fairly blatant point of her distancing herself from what happened.

I don't think anybody should be putting any blame on Hazel, or accusing her of manipulating the situation to benefit herself. Sure, she's a thoughtless skank for allowing herself to get involved with him in the first place, but I recognised something in Hazel's behaviour last night that I've seen before. Daley's behaviour was making her visibly uncomfortable and it was quite clear that she was clueless as to how to react. She tries to play along with it, and there are some attempts at letting him know his behaviour is not OK, especially when it goes too far - (e.g. she says "You're so rude!" after he slaps her hard on the ass), but they're all communicated in this "playful" manner so as not to offend and aggravate him further.
Everything about the way Hazel was reacting to him gave me the impression that she was uncomfortable, in shock and clueless about the whole thing and there's a whole lot of awkward defensive dialogue coming from her. I could almost hear her thinking "WHAT IS HE DOING? IS THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENING?" throughout the whole thing. You saw something very similar in her reaction to his aggressive "You shouldn't wear makeup, I fink it's betta when girls are natural bruv" spiel to her the other day, she even said "Nobody's ever spoken to me like this before". What I saw was a very typical response of somebody when they encounter other people behaving bizarrely or erratically - they'll try to ease their discomfort with awkward smiles and light heartedness (e.g. her constant requests for a hug) and they'll try to communicate their discomfort in a non-provocative way. The body language doesn't lie. Hazel only denied that Daley had done something to upset her when he asks her after being called to the diary room because she didn't want to aggravate him further - the way she goes to sit far away on the chair afterwards says it all.
It's very similar to how I react to drunk people - you try to go along with the stupid things they say because you don't know how they are going to respond otherwise. People need to separate their judgement of this incident from the judgements they've made previously about Hazel.
It was poor form for the producers to try and pair them in the safe house in the first place. The whole thing was just very uncomfortable viewing. I watched the Live Feed of the incident and it showed Daley getting quite angry and aggressive about Hazel and Charlie talking for so long in the garden. He does this whole "60 to 1" count down to himself for which he expects Hazel to be back in the safe house. He lies to Hazel and Charlie so that he can get Hazel alone. You could tell he was quite drunk.
What was also uncomfortable was watching the BBBOTS episode that followed. This incident highlighted a few faults in Rylan and AJ as presenters - it was uncomfortable to watch them awkwardly gloss over the incident and try to push the subject on to trivial topics. Their inexperience really showed. This incident deserved a more serious treatment, so I think it might have been better handled by Emma. It was awkward watching that woman in the audience and the caller in the phone room pushing blame on to Hazel and to see Rylan having to deflect the conversation to give his whole "I think there's two sides to this story" spiel. It looked like Rylan and AJ might have had some strong opinions about it, but were too uncomfortable to adequately express them.

To me it came across as part of an awkward "Let's try to turn this weirdness Daley is displaying to me back into some light-hearted flirting" defence mechanism. The whole thing did begin with them flirting, but he was in a foul mood beforehand, so he gets annoyed and aggressive about some of the things she does. Hazel says in the diary room later that she feels like she's in an awkward position and she questions whether she's over-reacting, because it did start as flirting, or "friendly banter" as she described it, but his drunken mood caused him to become aggressive as things went on. She doesn't know how to react to it, (probably asking herself if this is his idea of flirting or if he's seriously making these threats) so she goes along with it as if it's just normal flirting, even though it's freaking her out.
He's drunk and aggressive, and he possibly doesn't realise how aggressive he actually is being because he's so drunk. It's making Hazel uncomfortable, but she tries to bring it back into a flirty context, because that's how it started and it's the only way she can rationalize the way he's acting. Perhaps this is drunken Daley's idea of flirting, but to all us sober folk it is quite threatening. Honestly, how does anybody even respond to something like that? It is such an uncomfortable and unexpected way for somebody to act.

I'm sorry but she says she was "terrified" but the only thing on all of the vids that she was terrified of was realising she had gone too far when she leapt up out of the bed and threw the dressing gown on.... and realised really realised she had gone too far.
She was very VERY aware. She could have called it off MUCH earlier. Not say "Go for it". She was playing hard.

I agree that the behaviour was unacceptable but it was also unacceptable on her behalf.

I think it was a bit of overkill Daley getting removed from the house, although in his drunken playfight with Hazel he did seem pretty intense and even i wasnt sure if he was for real or not..... But Hazels reaction was what was getting me, if she felt threatened why keep pushing and pushing him, and as for production, it was like they knew the spark was there when they where paired, it was just a matter of the fire starting......
I think it was the right call - he crossed the line whether or not Hazel encouraged him or not.
What is more scandalous is for the second time in as many weeks producers have fixed the nominations to save Gina and Dexter, offering no explanation why Jackie and Jack and Joe have been put up for eviction despite not being amongst the top three nominees. They've brushed it aside with the dismissive statement “The nomination process is at Big Brother’s discretion so can change accordingly”, failing to explain why that unlike in the C4 era any twists aren't announced before the nominations actually take place.
These producers just don't deserve the responsibility of a show like Big Brother - all they're interested in is a predictable almost scripted show where the people they choose at the beginning make it to the end. The beauty of Big Brother is that it's always been unpredictable, not just for viewers but producers too, and they really should have enough confidence both in their show and their viewers to let things pan out naturally and the show to evolve over the series as big characters get evicted and quieter characters then get the chance to take centre stage.

I still think that Hazel's behaviour was in line with that of somebody genuinely shocked and clueless as to how to respond. Perhaps I'm naive, because her whole thing with Daley has been bizarre from the get go, and she obviously liked the attention it brought her because even negative attention will raise her profile enough to bring in the offers after she's out. She's been a bit of a manipulator in that sense, although it was very much a stupid way of conducting herself in the house. I still get the impression that her reaction to Daley's behaviour and subsequent ejection is genuine.

It would only seem fair to put up the five if they are going to have a double eviction, and even then, 4 housemates should suffice and Jackie shouldn't have gone up. To me, it seems like an intentional move to save Callum and evict Jackie, so that they can see what happens with Callum, Dexter and Charlie once Jackie is out of the picture. Personally I'd like to see the twins go before Jackie does.

Its not like this hasnt happened before in the UK, they have decided before to put up the highest 4 or 5 housemates with votes, not just 1 or 2, I think more than anything, obviously Dexter and Gina have a Fan base which would have seen Callum go home more than likely, which would wreck the love triangle angle they are working towards... They do this type of edit manipulation all the time, it reminds me of wrestling lol, turn heel players good, they got negative edits to start with so they are hated then slowly give them the redemption edit so you come to like them, BBUK is pretty boring this year, Im not sure why, but possibly i prefer the 3 show a week format so they can actually create household storylines, instead of the same shit, different day style BBUK seems to have

I feel Sorry for Callum I can't stand Jackie and the twins annoy me and Dexter gives me the creeps but I want Jackie Gone and Gina to win can't believe that I am really saying that considering I as everyone hated her on the cat walk going in and I have no comment on Hazel I just hope when she is up she is gone in a double with her friend Dan
