Episode Day 26 Daily Show - 4/12/2025

These people have no idea about who is popular. Like Ed thinking he's up against the most popular housemates and that's who he has to beat...does he not think about how likable Emily is?

Jaded. Things are always better back in the day. Always. Especially for me, doing high school in the 90’s… Nobody born in the 70’s would argue with that 😂

Most of us on the forum iare jaded, constantly comparing things to how it was as opposed to looking at how it is and what it might turn into. I want the show to succeed. Missed a whole lot of seasons in the early days but I’m craving more. 10 were brave to take the show back and based on that, I feel pretty sure that they will be brave enough to make substantial changes for the next season.

As long as two faced Coco, conspiracy idiot Bruce, or head of the farts Colin doesn’t win, I’m at least willing to accept the result of the season. lol

It is funny. But it’s still a bit of a strategy to try to get those that are the biggest threats nominated so *one of the loved* housemates inevitably has to get voted out. Compare that to nominating someone that you could easily beat, because they have some annoying trait that won’t go down well with viewers. The better strategy, I think, is to goad your fellow housemates to nominate the nice people (even though you’re not supposed to strategise, but is subtle strategising still really strategising?)

To be honest I would actually like it for the producers, since this is all an experiment, to allow strategising for a season at least. Play with different rule sets.

Well.. it's the comparison that 10 made. People just follow up from it. If I promise you a 5-course gourmet dinner and then bring out a bag from Maccas, you might still enjoy it for what it is but would give me dirty look and go around calling me an idiot for serving Maccas as gourmet food.

Reactions would have been quite different if 10 said that they're redefine the show for a modern audience. Then people might not have invested their time in the first place. Or might have casually followed it along and enjoyed it for what it is. Or would not have wasted their time with it at all if they are not into that type of entertainment.

But they called it Big Brother and set expectations. They called it the OG version and set even more expectations. It's on them if they don't fulfill these expectations, not the viewers.

So does everyone you complain about here. That's why people post here. They want the show to be the best it can so that it sticks around for as long as possible.

You said that 10 was brave to take the show back. I wouldn't call it brave, I'd call it smart. I don't think that was a chance that the first reboot season would have failed. Big Brother is a goldmine, because it has a rare thing: It has a passionate community that will always come back for the show. They might not stick around for the show, if they don't get what they expect from it - as proven by the version that aired on 7.

And that community will always be passionate about their show. And that's a good thing, even for people like you who take whatever comes towards them. Because without those passionate people, the show would be where Australia's Next Topmodel, The Mole, The Biggest Loser or Beauty and the Geek are.. in the TV graveyard and definitely not revived for the 3rd time.


Besides, show me one person on this board that has just been complaining and not giving credit when the show has done something right.

Fair point, there are definitely people who give credit when it’s due. Others– no naming names, that’s not really my aim here – are a bit more sporadic and sometimes just rub me the wrong way, same as anyone would in real life, so I’ve muted a couple of posters lol. I still try to read the entirety most threads because I actually love the discourse with other fans, and there is a lot of fun, humour, creativity, constructive chat,, dark humour in here that I really enjoy.

I just personally feel that, when you look at the threads as a whole, the vibe leans pretty negative/jaded, and that’s probably what a casual reader would notice first. Being jaded is totally valid, and there’s nothing wrong with admitting we’re a bit that way – it comes from caring about the old format. I just know for myself that starting from that baseline can sometimes tie you down and make it harder to see how the show’s trying to evolve. At the end of the day, if what they’re doing manages to retain or grow viewers, that’s what really matters, whether or not it lines up perfectly with any of our “ideal BB” versions.

Whether or not I feel confident in a “growth” scenario, that’s a very tough one with our media landscape. They have done brilliantly with the tiktok angle it seems. For the record, I don’t have tiktok. lol

I don't actually mind the stealing, I think it's funny. I just hate the way she constantly is negative about the other housemates on the livestream and obviously thinks that she's better than them when she's doing exactly the same stuff as she is complaining about. All the stuff she said about Holly and how she's had more pricks than a dartboard etc was pretty gross.

I was really hoping that Ed was smart enough to consider that chucking 3/4 on Bruce was a much better move for himself than voting for an actual threat in this spot yeah. If Bruce has enough points, he's up and he might have been someone he could actually beat if it's only a single eviction. But Ed's a cooked goose really so of course he didn't 'get it'

Unlike "one crew member" part, the last quote is attributed to 10. And I don't think they've made up that quote, it makes sense for 10 to defend the show publicly..

But that's just straight out insulting. And is not giving a lot of hope that next year will be any different.
