Live stream chit chat

I submitted this feedback to 10, feel free to do the same if you're frustrated.

This feedback relates to the Big Brother live feed on 10 Play.

I understand that certain conversations or circumstances may need to be muted or cut away from for legal or operational reasons, and I appreciate that this can sometimes be unavoidable. With that said, the level of interruption over the past 48 hours has been excessive to the point of making the feed borderline unwatchable. Diligent viewers have noted (and documented) how many of the cutaways appear to be based on editorial discretion rather than any genuine necessity, and this has significantly affected the viewing experience.

Although 10 Play is a free-to-access platform, the live feed is not a “free” service in practice. Viewers are required to watch advertisements at 15 minute intervals in exchange for access, creating an ad-funded service arrangement. In this context, I believe it is reasonable for viewers to expect that the service be delivered with consistency and in good faith. At present, I am concerned that the level of disruption may not meet the standard of due care and skill that viewers are entitled to expect under Australian Consumer Law.

While this season has only one week remaining, I would appreciate an internal review of the live-feed moderation and clarification on how these concerns will be addressed, both for the remainder of this season and in consideration of the time and commitment of viewers like myself.
Thanks, I reworded it a bit so they dont just ignore in case of spam accusations. I also sent it to https://www.endemolshine.com.au/contact

There are some housemates that are way more entertaining on the live stream than others.

Bruce, coco, Colin, Ed are good for general chats

The others, especially Vinnie, are low value

I'll have solid numbers by the end of the night, but so far we've cut away today 24 times and spend almost 15% of today's stream censored either by fish cam (or equivalent) or by extended periods of mutes (longer than 5 seconds)

I read how your script thing worked earlier but this came to mind now, how does it work when it has been on a static screen and ads kick in and then back to static screen for long time, like how do the ads impact it as wont that reset the timer?

Yeah, the ads do reset the timer, so the stats, especially the percentage, won’t ever be perfectly accurate. In my case the stream is coming from TikTok, not 10play, and the ad breaks are hard coded and each specific ad (BB promos, 2026 10 Promo) are always the same length. That makes it pretty easy to spot in the log when the timer stops, then picks up again 15 seconds later. I just add that missing chunk back into the censored-time total.

I’m also watching the stream live, and I built in a manual resume button. When the timer gets tripped by an ad, I can override the automation and keep it running.
