BB 2025 season ratings thread

I suspect we'll get Traitors before Masterchef/after I'm A Celeb.
If they're smart, they'll put quite the distance between it and Celebrity Traitors/Traitors UK at the start of 2026. Otherwise its just going to make Traitors AU look like tacky, low budget trash in comparison.

60 days (approximately) is my prediction for next year. I still don't think they're quite in the position where they can go all guns blazing on a 80-100 day season (maybe in 2027 for 80 days). Still, I'm satisfied with the ratings so far, especially in a time where people are moving further and further away from mainstream television in favour of streaming services.

Tuesdays ratings:

Total viewers: 607,000. It won in the key demos in its timeslot. BB was #1 in 25-54s for the night and was 2nd to Love Island in 16-39's. Last Tuesday’s episode picked up +300,000 to average 934,000.

Last night

  • Reached 1.14 million total national viewers.
  • #1 in its timeslot in 25 to 54s (37.1%) and 16 to 39s (47.1%).
  • Lifts 10’s timeslot 68% vs. the same night last year.
10 was the #1 channel in 25 to 54s last night.

This is great considering the lead in, DOND, was low at 155k

BB was down 50k from last Wednesday to 540k last night. It was 2nd for the night in both 16-39s and 25-54s. In terms of total viewers it was 4th in its timeslot.

It did much better than the Aria Awards either side of it, 221k for the Red Carpet, 212k for the actual awards.

Big Brother stayed steady in the ratings compared to last week:

Big Brother’s Thursday audience was 514,000 compared to 516,000 last week. It once again easily topped the demos for 7.30 shows, was number 2 overall in 25-54 to Nine News and number 2 to Love Island in 16-39. Last week’s episode topped 700,000 in consolidated.

Are the ratings enough for big brother to return next year and make it at least 50-60 days?
It will almost definitely return. It’s been a ratings success for 10, especially in demos where it matters most.

It’s also driven viewers to 10 streaming too. So another win.

My only concern is that they will air it in the same slot next year - I do think they will extend it though, but probably only to six weeks vs the four we have this year.

Last night's ratings saw BB being stable against increased competition from the cricket:

Big Brother had 409,000 to be barely impacted by The Ashes competition. It was down from 418,000 last week and was the number one entertainment show in the key demos (double the closest prime time competition) though well behind the cricket. In 25-54 the show had +200,000, down 20,000 week-on-week.

Last Friday’s episode had 735,000 in consolidated to be the day’s number one entertainment program. That was another +300,000 increase consistent with the rest of the week.

The total people result was more than double the audience 10 had last year for a Jamie Oliver special.

Surprisingly Big Brother increased by 20k from last Sunday to 666k. It won its slot in all the key younger demos and was more than double its competition in 16-39s.

10 was also the number 2 network in 25-54 and the number one network in 16-39 in the 5-city market.

So it seems the amateur production of the show is not harming it with the general public yet.

Does it really count when it’s just by default? There’s literally no other competition on other networks anymore…
