Sunday Double Eviction

I’m think they do a real double eviction every week for the next 3 weeks.

Leaves 6 left for the final week. Any more seems way too many for a final week.

There’s literally 2-3 weeks left of this.

Pulling a shit twist like this is untimely. They need to start getting rid of people and that should start Sunday.
I hear what you’re saying. But if we look at BBUK’s recent season, they had 13 housemates in the house on Day 34, and decided a winner on Day 48. A lot can happen in 2 weeks.

Look at how many double evictions are there in the BBUK example. It had at least 3 of them.

I don’t see them doing live shows as often here. Evictions here they will save for Sunday nights so less opportunities.

I’m actually hoping we get to a final 3 if anything as final 6 is too big for the format in my opinion.

I’m (sadly) inclined to believe they’re taking BBUK’s lead and plan to smash out multiple evictions in the space of a few minutes on Finale. Can’t see them getting there with any less than 4 or 5 HMs still in on the last night.

Not like they’re gonna show us any recap videos of the season to fill out time, lol.

It would be an great twist and pay homage to a twist of the past. Viewers would know ahead of time like we did in the classic BB seasons. And a multiple eviction can/will happen in the future anyway and one that we can know about first is better imo. It is also only like day 12 so near the start as much as near the end of the season. They could even just have a triple eviction to even the numbers just one we know about. But its a shame it likely won't happen.

Maybe if the season was over 80 days but a terrible twist for a 40 day at most season. I find that it is most effective in Week 1 so a bit late for that. Not a good twist for the current format and the only good result here is a legitimate double eviction.

So, it is a double eviction, huh? Good. It'll keep the housemates on their toes. Are the housemates aware that it's a double eviction? I could have sworn that during nominations, they only said one would get the cut.

I have noticed that's been the theme this season, way too much producer meddling and interference + biased editing.
As a fan who loves and understands this format on a level that most people will never understand stuff like this is incredibly frustrating as meddling and bias have been issues that have been brought up for years. Being a fan on this level and for as many years as someone like me is infuriating… These issues persist because they’re chasing short term gain instead of building long term brand loyalty. It’s clear based on the overwhelmingly positive pre-series response (not just for us but from people who hadn’t watched the show in years) that this is a much loved franchise and I don’t think the response to an approach that had more respect for its source material would have been much different… But maybe that’s just me looking through my rose coloured backseat executive producer glasses.

I’m sure parts of your comment will age well 🙄

I’m usually not one to preach about losing “big characters” but in this case it comes at the expense of having more room for production to push the Golden Boy saga. As for the rest of your comment it should be obvious that throwing in a double at this point was not their original intention.

I wonder if they will have a snap eviction during the middle of one of the weeks in order to continue getting people out as quickly as they can. While I'm enjoying the season (for the most part), you can tell how much the production team is having to rush through everything. Instead of a 40 day season, I'd have preferred if they waited until next year (start the season in around April or May) and rolled a 60 day season. If the season does well, renew it for a 70-80 day season the following year. This show could very easily have 100 day seasons again if they have housemates who bring high entertainment value, and as I will continue to say, people will want to watch if Big Brother is a bit stricter (hell, even Leon Murray's BB in the Nine era looks mean compared to what they have now), there are more challenges, Friday Night Live/Games equivalent, and unique twists that we haven't seen before.

I don't blame Network 10 for this season being a short one. They had been saying since late last year that Big Brother would be back this year, and they've gone through with their word. I blame the Seven Network (for obvious reasons). I will continue watching the program for the sole reason that I want to see it back, bigger and better next year, but for the love of God, there needs to be changes, because people aren't all that entertained by most of this crop.

Just telling it like it is, folks.

Agreed. This may not be the place to ask, but what was the quality like for the most recent BBUK season? Because I've heard.....polarising opinions on the ITV run.

The last sentence is something I think about a lot, too. I mean.. we've complained about the Channel 5 version of the show, yet they got 8 years out of Big Brother with 3 seasons per year (except for the first year). So somebody could make the argument that their change from social experiment to entertainment show (their words) made sense for them.

But at the end of the day, I still think that broadcasters and producers who chase the short term success are wrong. I understand why they are doing it. In the world they operate, they get judged on current results, not future results. But it's not the world I live in. So I can confidently say that they are still wrong.

I could bore everyone with a long list of seasons from around the world where producers killed the show by prioritizing twists and stunts over their core format. It's obvious for Channel 5 imho, who endured years of bad and ever declining ratings for the civilian version. And things only got worse for Channel 5 when a fresher take on an "entertainment show" was running against them. First you lose the passionate fans that care about the format, then you lose the people that are here just for the entertainment. And then you're left with the die-hards that even tune into crap like House of Love, but you can't survive on them. Channel 5 could have gotten a lot more out of it if they didn't alienate the first group, because the second group will never be loyal.

I think it's the same with Big Brother Australia. Doing something with Big Brother that is not Big Brother will only work for as long as there are no shows that do things better than them. Once there is a better MAFS clone, you've lost the MAFS audience - and your loyal fans if you alienated them too much.

What I would rather ask frontseat executive producers: Strictly Come Dancing/Dancing with the Stars doesn't change their show just to try and chase the MFAS/The Traitors/Survivor/whatever show is popular in the country. Why do you think you have to?
