I would rather no intro tbh. It gave me a feeling like they had already been inside the house for that promo stuff and regardless of if they had or hadn't it just felt weird.
I choose to believe that hallway was all the HMs got to see. But it was a very strange choice by producers to do that.

I just finished rewatching the Daily Show component of the Launch - since I missed quite a bit of it due to posting in this thread and reading the posts. I like Holly more after the rewatch than after watching it live. I completely missed that when everyone was freaking out about the empty suitcases, she wasn't putting up with the overreactions and was telling people "calm down, you'll get it back eventually".

😂

Also forgot to mention, something about the house feels off. The layout, the proximity to park patrons. The fact people on rides can SEE the backyard.

If this returns next year they need to find a better solution. The house just ain’t it and is contributing to the lack of “magic” the early 2000’s had.
Omg this! The house looks like a set for a futuristic sci-fi film or something. I want a natural looking house, like the BB houses from 20 years ago. This one looks like it belongs in a George Lucas film.

100% correct. The 3x of them are all playing it up for the camera. Especially Vinnie and Colin who both are terrible choices for housemates
Collin is unlikable. Vinnie is pretty handsome and I would enjoy seeing more of him. But I do agree that people who’ve already been on TV and have a following shouldn’t be on Big Brother. I thought Nine had learned their lesson after bringing in models, ex-hosts, comedians, and so on.

lol they are screaming out the housemates names at dreamworld they are calling out colin isnt that breaking no outside contact rules?
They’re not even trying to put a stop to it. In fact, the producers are encouraging the interaction between HMs and Dreamworld guests. The HMs are already gaging who is popular based on what’s being shouted to them from the rides.

Red flag to me.

Most likely budget considerations; way cheaper to send all housemates to a waiting cameraman in one place to shoot promo packages in one go than send a roving cameraman out to shoot individual promo packages on location where each housemate lives.

Yeah I touched on that in my previous post:

The main thing I didn't like about the launch was the HM taping intros in the arched hallway. I miss the old school packages of the HMs in their home cities / native environs which gave you a better idea of their backgrounds. Along with their non-matching luggage, obvious signs of 10's tight budget for this series.

Looks like appearing on the Launch hasn't immediately shifted the needle on Vinnie's Spotify stats. I took a screenshot of it yesterday afternoon to compare it to as things go on - and things have barely moved. The TikTok fangirls haven't done their thing. Yet.

Yeah I touched on that in my previous post:
Although they could have compromised and got their cameraman to take them out to scenic/locations relevant to their backgrounds/identities around the Gold Coast, so each package shows more than just them standing in the house hallway.

Er, no she didn't! Thongs, glamour, bogan, fish and chips, barbie. No mention of her kids at all. I think you have confused her entry with Allana's. Watch the episode yourself.
I know I didn't imagine it, Coco said somewhere in either her intro or discussion with Mel that she has three boys. How else would we know? What is this Mandela effect going on?

Just watched the launch and it was a big load of nothing. 73 minutes and I can't really tell you anything of note that happened.

My main takeaway is that Mel was a distractingly awful host. Awkward jokes that didn't land, increasingly bizarre interactions with the HMs as the night went on... she was up there with the worst of the worst BBUK hosts for me.

I'm inclined to give her time to find her feet - she was miles ahead of Sonia that's for sure.
