Episode Day 1 (9/11/2025) - Launch

The Launch night is always pre-recorded. It's how they get the ball rolling for the 24-hour turnaround of Daily Shows, etc. Excluding Ch7, BBAU has only ever done one live Launch - in 2003 and it was a mess. A lot of the overseas' Big Brothers usually do pre-recorded first episodes as well... it's very standard.
Also, whoever was doing the sound mixing did a terrible job of fading up and down the fake applause, I do sound engineering and I was cringing. You could literally hear the fake applause jump up and down with no subtle execution that I would expect from a major network. I could have done a better job of it even if it was live and no one would notice.

is anyone having issues accessing the episode on ten's app? Every single time I try to play it it says:

Stream initialization failed

An unexpected error has occurred

Stalked the forum all night, god I’ve missed this! 😍
The launch was decent considering the weather. My BIGGEST issue was the music playing during the daily show segment. Hoping that’s not a regular occurrence.
Everything else has already been said; would prefer a longer intro, bigger audience, BB talking in 3rd person, more of the theme tune playing ect.
And a ROOF OVER THE CROWD.

But I’m just happy we’ve got the live stream and a decent bunch of HMs. 👏🏽
Good to be back!

Apologies if this is now the wrong thread to chat (feel free to move it or tell me to move it) but here is my first impressions on just a few housemates.

I want Conor to do well but fear he could get nominated quite a bit from other housemates.

Colin I am not liking right now. Too many bros from him I think (I am only 27 and still think he is 'bro'ing too much)
Also I think he is a conspiracy nut.

Bruce probably won't last too long with his 'traditional' thoughts.

Holly is another one in the not liked right now pile. Hopefully she puts on pants quick smart once luggage is won by the housemates.

Michael by far is the one I want gone the most. When you talk about 'wokeness' like he did in his opening introduction, that's a turn off for me.

As for Housemate 13, I have voted for Mitch. Probably a generational thing in a way but I also sense that Mitch will be loved by other housemates longer.

interesting to note though.. the editing style was almost identical to only the first ITV series launch. the most recent itv launch from what i remember was not as rushed, not as edited and didn’t have as much if any music edited in.

Only the first ITV season had a pre-recorded launch. The launch of their second and third series has been live, so there was no way for them to edit anything.

I haven't had a chance to read all of your comments yet, but I will shortly.

I think it's off to a good start well apart from the rain 😅. The housemates are different and seem like an interesting group. I am really excited to see how this season plays out. I'm buzzing.

Mel was brilliant. I loved that the BB theme was back, but I think the opening credits should be slightly longer. It was too quick. It was great to have Mike Goldman back as narrator.

It felt so good to go to the original Big Brother format again. Christ, it has been a very long time. I'm so grateful it's back to how it's supposed to be. I thought it worked with the live audience around the stage, and it brought back the atmosphere though the rain was pretty bad, so I hope in the future they have some kind of undercover area planned if there is rain at the evictions. I need an eviction couch and a proper interview.

Now off to read your comments 💨

Mum and I finished watching this OG BBAU launch with mixed feelings - a 5/10 from us.

PROS:
- Someone who is not Sonia hosting.
- Diverse cast (identities, values, etc.)

CONS:
- Turnout was small, low energy crowd.
- House is a bit too colorful for our liking.

Hopefully the ratings are solid, they really could go either way, okay start but a way to go.

Wait hew is this hot news guy 🤔

Glad they didn't bother with name badges - much prefer them awkwardly trying to remember each other's names.

The cast show promise though, as does Mel - though she's much better talking with the housemates than to the crowd.

Hate hate hate the location though. On the edge of a theme park was one thing but slap bang in the middle just does not work.
