The inside rumours were that they were trying to push Kyle on her as cohost, she threatened to walk, they called her bluff and she stood firm.

For some odd reason, Ten was determined to make him the face of their network and realised it was all for nothing when BB08 flopped.

If this is accurate, then they were fucking idiots. She was already on her last rope after the 2007 season, let alone after that finale and being seen having a breakdown and sobbing in a car later on.

This absolutely would've been the straw that broke the camel's back.
 
In other news, I assume the social media team have given up on the YouTube channel for now. They've not followed through on their promise to upload or stream the 2006 "Unforgettable" special (which they skipped in the marathon) as a quick last-minute nostalgia hit before the launch. Since it was just a recap of various moments of the first five years of the show.

Yeah I think there was no chance of her returning for 2008. I don't buy any of the stories, but my gut feeling is it was probably a mutual decision for her to part company with the show.

Wouldn't surprise me either. 10 seem to do it for a lot of their reality shows. It's nice to see Gretel give her congratulations.

I've always used Express VPN and never had any problems.
 
I'm interested to see if they acknowledge the break between housemate 4 and 5 entering because of the weather, or just gloss/edit over it and act like there was no gap.

It would be in everybody's best interest for them to just acknowledge the rain and carry on. Besides, the Launch shows are almost always passed off as "live" anyway.

If anything, I hope it isn’t as noticeable in the edit, especially given what tonight means. They can’t afford to not make the first episode look the best it possibly can, so they'll most likely do everything to make it all appear smooth and schmick - as they should. But we'll know for sure in a few hours.

Far too many eyes will be on it tonight.

I would love it if after filming resumed, they filmed something with Mel throwing to the ad break saying something like "We're going to hit pause here. See you after the break" that they could insert here. 😂
 
I’m very excited, I’m hoping it’s like old school big brother with more modern stuff obviously. We’ll seeeeeee.
